Maggie's General Store

We are so happy to live walking distance from Maggie's . My favourite is the beautiful selection of tulips but between our family there are many must haves here. Fluffy white organic loaves of bread, Portuguese tarts, fresh eggs, the best cookbooks, chocolate in all shapes and sizes, gifts, crumpets....... Really it's never ending. I also love that whenever I have to make an emergency dash for an avocado there is always a lovely big perfectly ripe one waiting for me. To be honest I love just going in and having a brows and a chat, it's a wonderful store, quite perfect.

Interesting selection of cheeses and cured meats in the deli and a lot of good local products to choose from in general not just in the deli The prepared meals are often quite novel and tasty. So - each time I go in there is something new in there. I would like to say that this store is very good and kudos should go to the proprietors.

This place is a true local gem. Just like the local milk bar of old we're finding we are popping in 2-3 times a week for staples like milk and bread. Add to this the gourmet cheeses and cold meats and the great variety of take home meals from some of the best restaurants around Melbourne.

The products offered are constantly evolving so I pretty much end up finding something new and delicious to buy each time I go here.

Everything I have ever bought from Maggie's is absolutely delicious! Especially the ready made meals & cheeses. I am gluten free & the GF lasagna & GF precinct bread is the best I have ever tried. Such a lovely, friendly store.

Would give 6/5 stars if I could!! Brilliant selection of food/treats and homewares - everything we’ve bought has been a fast favourite. ‘The nice lady’s shop’ as my daughter calls it - she really is lovely and has impeccable taste/recommendations

Such a nice a welcoming place where you can get to know the owners who run it. I feel safe when I shop there, it’s not rushed and they have some amazing things there that no other supermarket has. If you like to shop in comfort and in privacy to get some small things this is the place to go.

Maggie's General Store is truly wonderful, friendly staff and a wonderful selection of smallgoods make it a must-visit. I can personally recommend Dr Marty's Crumpets (available on Thursdays) and Babka Boi's Apple and Cinnamon babka. Staff are very friendly and easy to talk to as well. Can not recommend them enough!

Maggie is as lovely as her store. We are blessed to have this little gem in Bentleigh.

Last Weekend I put together a nice cheese platter with a crusty breads and finding some duck fat for my Bordelaise French fries and duck legs. I nearly forget the lovely smile and welcoming from Maggi. Merci.

Love this place. All the things you could want. Can't mention anything because I'd be scared to miss something lol. She's awesome and all the yummy goods you need. Can't wait to come in next!

Really beautiful homewares and food store supporting local companies. Store owner is lovely and really helpful. Their cheese selection is to die for!

Love this place. Great selection of artisanal products, and kids love the icey poles. Coming here made our lockdown a lot better.
