Cardwell Lookout

Stunning spot for a sunset, would be even more delightful as a sunrise location. Facilities are well cared for, dirt road in with sported bitumen on the ascending parts of the road.

This is a nice lookout stop next to the highway. It's well worth the short walk to the top where you get a beautiful view of the river and ocean beyond.

Great lookout and an amazing part of the world, but be warned there is no shaded area at the very top of the hill/ bush walk.

You can see a look out from the cars. But doing the walks are gorgeous. They are breath taking. Yes it's a bit of a walk but worth it.

Long climb but well worth it

Very nice lookout from where you can see to Hilchinbrook Island and the Hinchinbrook Channel or whatever it's called. It's a short walk from the parking lot to the nicer lookout or you can just stay at the location of the car park, there are also opportunities for seating given. There are also two different lookouts which you can enter within a short footwalk, you don't need extraordinary shoes or any equipment to walk there, it'll be less than a kilometer.

The walk to each lookout is relatively short. Queensland Parks and Forests have added significant improvements to the walking tracks, along with new interpretive signs. Rockingham Bay, Mt Mackay, Dunk, Hinchinbrook and Bedarra Island can be viewed without obstruction from Rockingham Bay and Hinchinbrook Island lookouts. Perfect locations for photographs.👍

Visit was to celebrate my birthday. Cardwell is a nice spot. The lookout provides good views of the area. Looking forward to another visit.

The view is spectacular, but definitely walk up the 650m track for an even better view from the lookouts at the top!
