King Parrot Cottages and Event Centre

King Parrot cottages was the perfect place for our extended family of 30+ annual weekend away. We hired 4 cottages including the Lodge and Hall. This was the perfect meeting point for the days' activities, shared meals and evenings enjoying the games provided and the surrounds. The quality furniture and bedding, extremely well-appointed kitchens and extensive range of games and activities available were amazing. The highlight had to be using the equipment provided to catch yabbies onsite and enjoy as an entree to our evening BBQ.

Loved our stay at King Parrot! We ran a 6 day retreat from the Lodge and Hall, and it was effortless, easy and relaxed. We had a stunning view, all facilities were great for catering for a large group and rooms were perfect. Have stayed before and will stay again!

Wow, this place is breathtaking. what a stunning place to stay. We honestly cannot recommend this beautiful place enough. From the quiet serenity, sauna facilities to the bush walks/trail runs it truly was paradise. Nicole and Ryan looked after us, they showed us different bush walks, introduced their Vizsla to our Vizsla and even left us a bottle of sparkling rose on arrival for our honeymoon. The small touches really define the difference in your experience when you stay somewhere and they truly know how to make you feel welcomed. We would highly recommend staying here if you want a base point to all the local tourist spots along the Great Ocean Road and if you are travelling with your pooch this is the perfect spot. Incredible! We will be back definitely.

What a truly special place! We stayed in Aquila with our toddler. He loved it and all King Parrot had to offer. The cottage was extremely clean and had everything needed to make us feel at home. The property itself is incredible and the hosts are the same! We couldn’t fault our stay & will be back again. It was a beautiful little family break.

We've been back for another retreat at King Parrot Cottages, I think our 4th one now, and as always we loved it. The lodge only has 3 bedrooms, but there are other cottages on the property and guests can be spread out over several accommodation options.

If you want to host a yoga retreat where every single guest sleeps in the same house, this property might not be for you, but if you are happy to give your guests some more space, and extra privacy, this place is perfect. The lodge is where the yoga space and communal dining area is, and this is usually where most of our guests hang out together.

The lodge has wonderful views, and there's plenty of wildlife on the grounds. If you are looking for a peaceful venue where your retreat guests can rest and unwind, King Parrot is a great option.

We hosted a Yoga and Wine Retreat at King Parrot Cottages last weekend and absolutely loved our stay. The lodge with hall formed the perfect setting for a yoga studio 'feel' and the views are truly stunning. All 12 retreat guests equally loved it, and we can't wait to retreat here again for our April yoga getaway. Also, Nicole - the owner - was incredibly helpful and quick to respond to all email queries. Highly recommend!

King Parrot cottages is a truly magical experience. It is peaceful and tranquil, a true hidden gem. I was lucky enough to spend a week there, sharing my time with my family and then a few days of solitude to myself.
We stayed in the Windmill cottage. The fire was so warm, the bed comfy and all the little extra touches were simply beautiful. I didn't want to leave. There is a magical waterfall on the property, a crystal clear swimming pool, sauna and gym. Lots to do if you want or just embrace the sound and energy of nature. Nicole couldn't have been more helpful and kind. She is a beautiful soul. Thank you to Nicole and Ryan for sharing their dream with us.

We really enjoyed our winter getaway at King Parrot Cottages. It was quiet & relaxing with beautiful surroundings. We stayed at the Blackwood cottage & it was perfect size with all the creature comforts. An easy (albeit wet) drive for lunch (pizza & beer) at the nearby Deans Marsh General Store was spot on. We also drove 30 minutes to have a nice Sunday afternoon at Forrest Brewery.
We found it easy to find with good signage & great communication prior to arriving.

My family and I had the most amazing weekend away for my Mum's 60th. Nicole was so helpful and such a delight to communicate with. The Lodge and Hall accommodated us all comfortably with the large dining room, spacious open living area and small commercial kitchen. We were spoilt with the best view of the property while sitting around the wood heater, had fun exploring the property's walking tracks and even braved a swim in the beautiful outdoor pool. The kids (and big kids) loved the games room and bonding with Gypsy and Coco, the friendly donkeys. We all can't wait to come stay again and would highly recommend King Parrot for anyone after a comfortable, relaxing, private getaway surrounded by nature.

Beautiful tranquility with consistent warm hospitality, suitable for family with infant

King Parrot Cottages boast of magnificent views outside and well loved spaces inside. Walking through just some of the property, I was bowled over daily through our weeklong stay by how beautiful the space was and how clearly loved Mannagum cottage was, where we stayed as a group of 7 adults and 1 infant.

The hosts are open and kind, generous with their time and energy. Kal greeted us at the beginning of our stay; Maggie was an anchor for us during our stay, including when we had an elderly fall and needed some basic first aid guidance on using the supplies in the kit. Nicole was exceptionally kind by helping us get groceries when we reached from an overnight flight and needed some basic food items upfront, and she kept actively connected throughout our stay to ensure we had all we needed. Ryan showed us through the property including allowing us to feed the animals - my heart will always be most tied with Tess, the gorgeous horse.

We took this family holiday to spend time together in a home away from home (hot and humid Singapore where we all live separately). This was perfect - the cooking facilities at Mannagum are well suited for family cooking and we especially love the outdoor grill Maggie helped us set up. The fresh produce in Australia speaks for itself.

King Parrot Cottages is a distance away from hustle and bustle which was exactly what we needed. My heart is full.

Lovely accommodation, clean and very comfortable. Communication was excellent and Nicole was wonderful with fixing up a small issue with the booking. Would highly recommend staying here!

King Parrot Venue hosted our wedding in March of this year. Nicole and Ryan the King Parrot owners truly made our wedding experience specular. They are the dream team! Nicole from day one was so efficient and clear with communication, but was also so helpful in terms of our queries as well as providing us with recommendations of local vendors. Ryan was so accommodating and helpful the days leading up to our wedding and also on our wedding day.

King Parrot is quite honestly one of the most beautiful places and most peaceful within Victoria. Its situated on the top of a valley, surrounded by forest and bush. The addition of an assortment of gorgeous friendly animals (sheep, highland cows, alpacas, horses and donkeys) just made it all the more special.

Lastly our stay in the Windmill lodge was magnificent! Completely surrounded by nature, it was so cozy, clean and comfortable. The addition to small details such as an vast T2 collection, local plunger coffee and a delightful room spray really shows how much thought and care Ryan and Nicole have for King Parrot.

Would recommend King Parrot for both a trip away and a wedding venue again and again! We loved it and so did each of our guests.

Thank you so much for the peaceful, beautiful stay at the campgrounds cabins. The staff are absolutely incredible, friendly and accommodating.

The beds were super comfortable and all the amenities were so lovely. We definitely felt that there was so much love and detail gone into the whole experience.

We had our wedding here in January 2023 and it was PERFECT. Nic and Ryan were incredible hosts and all our guests had the most epic weekend staying in the beautiful KP. It felt like a fairytale - kangaroos jumping across the paddock as the sun set, beautiful cabins, amazing facilities and the best vibes ever. Best decision we ever made.

The Aquila cottage was excellent and provided a relaxing stay. It is a tranquil environment because the national park is so close by. The magnificent forest setting and uphill walking routes were both great highlights for us. We eagerly anticipate our upcoming trip! 🤗

One of my favourite retreat places EVER! The customer service is 6 stars, the managers and owners are so lovely and our guests had the best time. It is so equipped with everything and the venue is just gorgeous, you can tell there is just so much love poured into this place. We will be back for sure! This was the perfect place to spend the long weekend for our family reunion. The managum cottage came equipped with everything we needed, from the BBQ to baking trays for scones. There is plenty to do around the property too and we loved the bush walks, pool and games room. Lots of wildlife as well with the visiting parrots keeping us company at the outside deck. Thank you Nicole for letting the kids feed the horses and donkeys. They miss Coco!

Beautiful surroundings, we loved being in the lap of nature. Our cottage was clean and had all of our basic needs...there was even stuff kept for our husky. The wren, the kookaburras, parakeets, parrots, the kangaroos were an absolute delight as were the resident farm animals. My son, Aunty and my spouse and I enjoyed the games room too. 100% recommended for an amazing nature holiday

We absolutely loved our stay at King Parrot cottages! ❤ our family booked 3 of the cottages for 2 nights to attend my sisters wedding which was taking place in a nearby town and we were all so thrilled with our cottages from the first moment we arrived on the beautiful property till we drove away two days later vowing we would be back to stay again. The property is huge and so lush and gorgeous. So green and fresh and peaceful - lovely views. The cottages are all within great proximity to each other but not too close to each other at all! You get all the privacy and peace you need but it’s only a short stroll to visit friends or family staying in other cottages. The accommodation is extremely clean and has been decorated and equipped very thoughtfully. On top of all the usual items you’d hope to find in a cottage kitchen there was also a toaster and sandwich press and a coffee plunger! Plus a microwave to heat up some essentials like heat packs and hot chocolate! There was a bag of delicious ground coffee and some lovely local jam and delicious T2 teas that we really enjoyed. So nice to have the fireplace too and also dual heating and cooling wall units. I spoke to Nicole (one of the delightful owners at King Parrot) a few times when I needed advice over the phone and she was always incredibly helpful and lovely to speak to. I would highly recommend King Parrot cottages! I’m looking forward to staying there again one day. Also - I nearly forgot to mention! They’re pet friendly ❤

We chose King Parrot (Lodge & Hall) as a venue to host a gathering of friends and respective offspring and dogs for a weekend break which we have infrequently done in the past at other venues around Victoria.

KP was without doubt the best venue we have stayed at. It really is fabulous.

One is always a little apprehensive about the quality of accommodation that accepts pets; but there is no need to be concerned here, as the fixtures and fittings are of good quality, well maintained, but not overly fussy/delicate.

The kitchen was wonderfully equipped and the large communal area of dining (on the mezzanine) and living was perfect to accommodate our numbers. It never felt like anyone was on top of anyone else, and yet we all felt connected.

During one of Victoria's colder spells the fire kept us all toasty, and the beds were super comfy.

Outside the lodge is also magnificent. We all arrived at night, and collectively our mouths dropped open at the view we woke up to; a panorama of fields and forest, scattered with a mob of kangaroos, a horse, a couple of (very friendly) donkeys and an alpaca. On occasions we wandered down to the dam, and utilised the yabba nets (successfully) and also wandered further afield into the forest tracks, but be wary there are leeches waiting in the undergrowth to attached themselves to you and/or your dog; and the odd intimating bull.

Both the games room and the park were popular with the kids, and BBQ area was the perfect place to cook up a breakfast feast.

Wonderful.

One point of note, however, while we understand it, the strict 10am check out was a frantic deadline to make, and we wondered if on occasions when there wasn't back to back occupancy, this could be communicated across and tolerated on a booking by booking basis.
