Hotel Schloss Fernsteinsee Naturresort

Although the weather was horrible, the place was idyllic. Located near the lake, the natural surroundings were lovely. Hotel as well as the chalet we’re nice. Old lovely style and the service was amazing. Would Go again

A wonderful place with so much character.

We stayed in the castle during a rainy day and loved stepping back in time for a moment. Andres, at the front desk was great. The staff at the restaurant were very kind, professional, and played with our baby daughter.

My wife has a gluten allergy, and this was one of the most attentive restaurants we have been in throughout Austria.

The room furnishings and decor are a bit dated but of very high quality. I wouldn't change a thing. During our 6 week trip from Canada, this is one of the highlights.

We stayed in the actual castle which was pretty amazing. They really tried to make sure everything was well set up and the room itself was spectacular - great views and authentically historic (seeming at least) inside. It did feel like going back in time but still with modern conveniences.
The food (supper and breakfast) and service at the restaurant was also very good and the staff very accomodating, although the hours were a bit short - the restaurant closed at 9pm and breakfast in the morning was only until 9am.
The only other thing I'd mention is that there's a decent climb up uneven stairs to the castle so someone who wasn't mobile would have trouble unless you drove them up and down.
Altogether a very nice experience and I'd love to stay again!

We didnt use the hotel, just stopped because of the amazing view and resort. The place is like heaven and a must visit, if in that area. Resort offered great services, hiking options and beautiful pictures. Underwater diving, boats and so much more.

I had an incredible experience here. There is plenty to do, the view and experience is amazing, and the food and service is great as well!

Stunning place in the heart of Alps. Castle in such place? Yes! Don't forget to see couple of clear green lakes in this area. It's beautiful area!

Beautiful Hotel, situated on a mountain pass with a beautiful lake besides it. Crystal clear water and if you are brave enough you can take a swim, it might be pretty cold.

Awesome food, great service, and a beautiful restaurant. Authentic Tyrolean food! Ragout of deer was delicious and the oxtail soup was incredible!

A nice place in tm austrias mountains. Historically it reminds you at the medieval timesback than..especially while you wander through castelhalls and stonewalls...a castel where you cam also sleep in ;P recommended to book!

Very nice place to relax and take great pictures. You can also rent boats for the lake.
