Dobratsch Nature Park

When you love special gardens and you’re not afraid of heights ;-) this is a beautiful place to visit when the weather is nice. It’s only open 3 months of the year. June, July and August. I would drive to the top, early as you can spend the whole day easily there with hiking…. Sitting in the restaurant and visiting the Alpine garden.

Also the sky bridge is amazing.

Below some pictures we took yesterday. Sadly we drove up late (2 pm) and had not enough time for a hike on the top which was a shame.
So my advice: start at 10 am and enjoy the whole day!

You can find huge beautiful mountain scenery and feel really fresh air. You have to pay 20Euro to enter the Alpine road, but it is truly worthy. Recommend to visit there.

The views here are spectacular. Access is easy via the Villacher Alpenstraße with many parking spots, information and of course the Rote Wand viewing platform.
We went on the Jägersteig path starting from the parking place at the end of the Straße. There are impressive rock formations and panoramic views along this path. You don't want to be afraid of heights!

One of the best hikes I've ever done. The views were spectacular and it wasnt too hot. (Begining of September). The entry was slightly pricey at 18.50, but the different hikes inside add up to the price. Very beautiful and great hiking experience!

If you're close to this nature park, definitely must come! The view is just beyond the words. Stunning.
Very nice hiking trails, the temperatures are lower, so that's plus as well. 😎

Hiking to the pilgrimage church was a fantastic experience - Dobratsch was the highlight of our time in Austria.

These roads are just great for a short motorcycle trip. Careful for animals crossing the road though.

After 18:00 entry is free.

At 20:00 motorcycle are banned.

Amazing view over Carinthia, very popular in Winter when it's cloudy or foggy in the valley & sunny up here! Trails for walking, skiing or sledging. Car park at the top (pay parking), next to a decent Restaurant serving meals, coffee, gluhwein etc. Road is well cleared, and Toll-free during the Winter season.

Very nice hiking area .. .in In winter and summer..in summer you need to pay a fee to use the street..in winter there is a parking fee. think it's not really well signed so we got fined ... But final summary you are having a very nice view all over the Carnic Alps..

Wonderful & Beautiful place!!! I wish th3 shops & restaurant at the top of the mountain was open (closed due to Coronavirus). The climb up to the top was well worth it!

Very lovely place. Great views and very accessible walks for the family. Not too physically demanding as the car roads go up to the tree line. One can see Italy, Karawanken, Villach and Wörtersee etc. Definitely recommended.

Such a magical view! October time there is a bit of snow, but not enough to discourage a Summer hiker. On top of the mountain there is a comfy restaurant that makes the walk up worth it!

Beautiful and Pleasant we found snow and did sleding. As there were no skiiers, it was fun to do sledding.

Perfect short trip with intermediate relaxation .. no matter if you go for a hike or for enjoying a relaxing sunbathing with great view.. you will love this heavenly place on earth
