A beautiful place to stroll through as there is no cost to enter. Part of the attraction for our party were the scenes from Sound of Music that we shot here. There is so much to appreciate in this garden from the sculptures to the rose gardens and trellis tunnels.

Gorgeous park with plenty of flowers. Nice views of the fort. Perfect place to spend some time and enjoy the serenity, to plan rest of your day or simply enjoy a drink/food on a bench. Entry is free.

Free to enter, and the filming location of “do re mi” from the sound of music! It’s an absolutely beautiful place to explore and even just sit and people watch. Personally, I went to recreate all the sound of music shots, but I can see someone who doesn’t even know the movie enjoying their time here. The flowers are beautiful and the land is incredibly well taken care of.

Amongst the must sees when you're in Salzburg, especially when there is no entry fee! The well-maintained garden landscapes and detailed goddesses sculptures simply delights. Lots of different flowers and colors to brighten up your days.

There is sufficient seating in the gardens to easily spend an hour or two, with a cup of coffee and book by your side :).. Enjoy the magnificent views of the castle here as well.

The famous movie “Sound of music” was shot here. A must visit if you’re a fan- take a picture on the steps that Maria and the kids sing at!

Mirabell Palace and Gardens is one of the most popular tourist spot in Salzburg due to evergreen classic movie "Sound of Music". Some portion of the movie was shot here. It is a very beautiful garden. During day time it is very difficult to shoot a picture with clear background. There is no entrance fee to enter this garden. Worth visiting !!

The gardens are about as beautiful as any garden I have visited across the world. They're vibrant, full of colorful flowers, neatly kept trees, and fountains. They're famous for choreography in Sound of Music so expect to see many familiar landmarks if you're a fan of the movie. It's free to enter and worth a second visit.

The Mirabellgarden in the middle of the city of Salzburg, offer impressive perspectives, views, and play of colours and shapes.
The diversity of plants and the mix of open, busy and shady, quiet areas delight locals and people from all over the world.
A must see, when you are in Salzburg.

Great baroque gardens and sculptures, and free access to pristine manicured landscape. I was nicely surprised with the goddesses sculptures of Diana, Flora, Minerva, Ceres, Pomona. They all had their dress blown up and quite revealing but perhaps those were the times in 1689; it was very similar to Marilyn Monroe’s floating dress photo 300 years later… there is enough seating in the gardens to easily spend the day there. The conservatory is super small, but the parakeet choir gave the opposite impression from the outside - it seemed like a grand concert hall.

The gardens within the palace are simply beautiful and well maintained. A familiar site if you have seen the sound of music. Well worth a visit as it's free too.

Gorgeous, very well maintained, and colourful garden that is free to enter. For The Sound of Music fans, this is where they filmed while Maria and the kids were singing "Do, Re, Mi".

Mirabell Palace and Gardens in Salzburg are a true delight for any visitor. The immaculately maintained gardens boast breathtaking landscapes, adorned with vibrant flowers, perfectly trimmed hedges, and captivating sculptures. The charming Baroque-style architecture of the palace creates a picturesque backdrop, enhancing the overall experience.

Walking through the gardens feels like stepping into a fairytale. The intricate designs and well-manicured pathways make it an ideal place for a leisurely stroll or a serene moment of reflection. The views of the Hohensalzburg Fortress from the garden add to its allure, providing an excellent photo opportunity.

The historical significance of the Mirabell Palace and Gardens, coupled with its aesthetic appeal, make it a must-visit spot in Salzburg. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply seeking a tranquil escape, this place offers a wonderful experience that is both serene and visually captivating."

When visiting Salzburg, my wife and I first walked to the beautiful gardens, from where there is a beautiful view of the castle. The gardens are magnificent, in June, when we visited them, the vegetation and flowers were beautiful. Of course, the stairs are interesting, on which some shots from the extraordinary film My Songs, My Dreams were filmed.

Beautiful garden in the middle of Salzburg. 5 minutes walk away from the river and the pedestrian streets. Full of designed flower beds with fountain and status. Worth having a visit, rest and enjoy the scenery.

Sound of Music geek time! Absolutely adorable to walk around and stand in the places Julie Andrews once did. Stunning views.

A sanctuary right in the middle of Salzburg. Conveniently located before the train station, it’s the perfect place to take a break from the hustle and bustle in the center. There are lots of banks in the shade to watch people, read a book, or simply take in the beautiful scenery. I spent 45 min in the park and felt super relaxed and calm afterwards. Even though it was busy, it didn’t feel crowded.

An interesting spot in Mirabelgarten with extraordinary dwarf statues. I've learned from the sign that 28 dwarf statues were sold in the past but still many of them are available. And the best thing is it's free entry. Moreover, it feels peaceful to sit in there among these statues under the big trees.

I'm not all that big on formal gardens but this was a truly beautiful oasis. The riotous mix of flower types and colors save it from the kind of barren formality I dislike. Plus the shaded path with plenty of benches is a delightful, quiet respite on a hot summer day.

A calm place with beautiful sculptures. It has a represented a story. You will find the stories while entering the palace, although they are in German, you can translate them easily. You can sit there and enjoy a sunset as well. The sculptures are in a circular format adding to the beauty.

Absolutely beautiful garden; surrounded by a more beautiful scenery. There is also a rose garden, sculpted gnomes, fountains and lot of greens. The famous movie “Sound of music” was shot here. Entry is free. Nice for a relaxing walk or to sit under a tree.
