Car runs every 30 minutes. Dress warmer, as the wind and lower temperature at the top may surprise you.

Bring good shoes as the walking path becomes very steep and many people do not attempt to follow the path very far.

Ascending in the cable car, the world below shrinks, replaced by majestic peaks. Each sway builds anticipation until reaching the summit, where a breathtaking panorama unfolds. Great experience! Top of Salzburg mountains, stunning views over Salzburg and Germany border mountains. Rain at bottom, snow on peak, amazing amazing amazing.
At arriving, you can travel around 700 metres on top of the mountain, be careful: don't do this if you don't have good boots, no security fences around the peaks and you can easily fall. Ice and lots of snow, windy, and lots of warnings around.

Incredible views and amazing experience going up the cable car. When we went they were running every 15 mins, and it wasn't even especially busy, so that was nice.

We did the hike up to the main peak. Took about 20 mins but requires a bit of effort and proper shoes. I thought it would be cold at the top, even on a sunny day but it was actually very warm!

Recommend buying the Salzburg card which covers your bus fare, and also gives you access to other attractions.

Go on a clear day for best views (obviously 😅)

Great tram to see amazing views of Salzburg from the top of a mountain. Be prepared for cold and snow in winter. Entrance included in the Salzburg card which is a huge value.

The best:

- breathtaking view from Salzburg and the area.
- the walk to Geiereck is worth and not very demanding
- there are places up the top to have food amd drinks

Travel Tip:

- regardless of how warm is in the city, make sure to being a jacket since it will be windy and cold up there

Definitely the highlight of our Salzburg trip.

we bought the Salzburg card and immediately went here. Views here definitely cannot be matched, we felt like we were in heaven. On the left , you have views of da Austrian plains with Salzburg in the distance. On the other side, mountainous valley peaks straight out of paintings picasso

if there is only 1 thing you can do in Salzburg, it is untesberg.

Amazing views from the top. Nice that it is included in the Salzburg card and easily reachable by bus from the center. Otherwise seems pretty expensive at 32 euros return.

There's nothing like Austrian beauty. Wow!! Beautiful views up the cable car and even more so on top of the mountain. This was an incredible experience. Pack a jumper and wear sneakers. We were here in Summer and it was chilly.

Free parking, well organised and not too crowded up there. Really stunning views. Much better than a long drive to some of the other spots. Trips are usually every 30 mins, when we were there the pace was even each 15mins

Great morning and early afternoon at the mountain. Beautiful views. Nice little hike at top to another peak maybe 40 minutes on foot . Worth the effort to the second cross. Good views and seating areas. Used our salzburg card . What an amazing card. Cable car is 28 euros normally. Its included in the salzburg card as is the transport there. On way back to salzburg we stopped at hellbrunn water trick fountains .also included in sakzburg card ( as is most things ) .

No words to describe the the view and the feeling. You will be exposed to the majestic alps scene. This would be always my destination whenever I visit Salzburg to charge my spirit with. Take beer with, you really need it there.

The Salzburg card during high season is €30, but the lift price stays the same, €28. I went on 14/08 32℃ sunny day, and I didn't have to use a jacket even at the peak. You can find a lot of wild flowers. The lift goes up/down every 30min. Just scan the online Salzburg card QR code and go.

Included in the Salzburg Card. It's a short drive out of the city. Free parking and a very scenic ride up the cable car. Pretty challenging walk to the highest point but it's worth the walk. Beautiful views all around.

This was great. We went to the salt mines for opening. We then went here. We had a Greek? Lunch in the restaurant at the bottom of the gondola station, which was really good.

It is the best part of Salzburg, do no Miss the experience when you visit the place. Make sure to wear good shoes, we struggled to walk because of the sneakers.

This is a must do if you are in the area if you are ok with heights of course. The trip takes around 8 minutes and the views are incredible

It was an amazing experience to travel through clouds to the mountain top with a calendar view on both sides. One additional advise, do buy Salzburg card from Tourist Information centre as it makes this cable tour travel for free which is 28 euros per person.

Unique mountain. I heard that in the old days it was considered the abode of gnomes and trolls. The view from the mountain is gorgeous. And to the Alps, and to the valley of Halls and Salzach. Like a bird in the sky It is cool at the top, even in the heat. And below, a little away from the cable station, there is a gorgeous view of the Zalah River. Come, you won't regret it! The trailers are very comfortable and the cable car ride is very exciting.Trolleybus #5 goes from Salzburg railway station to the cable car station. This is the final stop. Very convenient for budget travelers.
