This place was a lot of fun. Very easy to spend a few hours exploring the history and art of the area. Loved the displays and the building. I can't imagine what it was like to be a resident when the facility was in operation

Beautiful musuem. So much to.learn. they have made the prisoners center of attention. That was just beautiful. Very thoughtfully designed musuem. It can take around 2-3 hours

Quite large museum, with different exhibitions. Unfortunately I managed to go through parts of maritime, Antarctica, and old Ushuaia. There are also prison museum, native people's one, naval one etc. To explore all of it, several hours would be needed.

Excellent museum situated in an old prison. Probably the best visitor attraction in Ushuaia. Very extensive areas ofcexhibitions not just relating to the history of the jail, but also on the ethnic people of Terra del Fuego and the discovery of Cape Horne, Magellan Straights andcthe Drake Passage.

Very interesting, especially the prison history. Combine with a ride on the prison train.

Licated in the most Southerly city in the world at the foot of the Andes. Probably the best thing to see in Ushuaia, Terra del Fuego.

Highly recommend checking this place out. Is a really interesting museum that contains a lot of information and a very interesting layout. Plenty to see and when you get an entry you will be able to leave and come back the next day. It is good for 48 hours.

Excellent museum and also an interesting building and area to walk around. There are several old ships and trains and things outside that are too big to fit inside the museum. Guided tours are only in Spanish. The same former prison complex has four museums and an art gallery.

Spent about four hours in total, got stamped out to have lunch and resumed our visit afterwards. Crowded by cruise ship tourists in the morning (queue to get in) but much less busy in the afternoon. Really fascinating displays, especially about maritime history of the area, the old prison and native people of the area.

Wonderful use of space, one ticket good for all museums in the prison, excellent value.
The Antarctic Museum was excellent, the Maritime displays and models were interesting. Fine Art gallery wings were captivating.
Ticket is good for 48hrs so I went back to finish what I could not on the first round.
Would visit again 👍

A must seen to understand the history of the area.
There is an option for 400 pesos of seeing all the museum's (there are together there). Once that you are there, it feels that you've travelled back in time 100 years (that was my feeling anyway).
There is WiFi available (not too good but nice to have it) and also an overpriced gift shop inside.
Nice staff and a free guide tour at 11 am and some other time I've forgotten.
I recommend it.

The museum is worth the fee. Lots of reading for sure, but I did enjoy the history presented. We visited on a Sunday and it was not very busy.

Fantastic historic jail of Ushuaia, Argentina, now preserved as museum. The building is in excellent condition. One of the aisle is an art gallery. Very nice to visit. Same the rest of the "Museo Marítimo". Guided tours: one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Also by paying an extra fee you can have earphones which you can have a very good idea of the whole prison and its museum. Worth to visit!!

This museum was SOOOO cool! If you're IN ushuaia you have to go! Cost is about 600 ARS for adult. They have discounts for students and elderly. There are multiple sections to this museum from the jail, the art, to something about penguins. You can take a guided tour but I didnt and there is plenty of information both in English and Spanish.
