Kaupé Restaurant

Perhaps the best restaurant in Ushuaia. Nicely decorated and very nice staff. We had the king crab and scallops as an appetizer. For main course the Rib Eye without bone. For dessert the crepe with fruit and lime ice cream with warm champagne sauce. All this was of very good quality and very tasty. Can highly recommend this restaurant as a tourist.

Amazing experience at the (south) end of world. Food was amazing, view is amazing, there is no rush and chef walking around checking out with people how they like the food and allowing himself to chat a bit.

The absolute best sea food I had during my 3 week stay in Argentina. Highly recommend the scallop ceviche, and the fish in general. The wine offering is outstanding. Leonardo di Caprio ate here or something. A friend recommended the place and it was worth the investment.

If you want a decent dining experience in Ushuaia, this may be a good place to try. The location is almost at the top end from the center of the city but you can certainly walk up the hill. It took me about 20 mins to walk to this restaurant. Ushuaia is a relatively safer place to walk around the town even in the evenings.

The restaurant from outside looks cozy and I enjoyed the small town view from its terrace. Inside of the restaurant is also nicely decorated and will give you a warm welcoming feeling.

Food is great! It's a bit pricy compared to other restaurants in town, but it's well worth it! We ordered some cheviches, octopus, catch of the day, beef, etc. and each dish was good. If anytihng, definintely try cheviches.

Overall, this has been one of the best restaurants I've visited in Argentina.

One of the best meals I have had in a long time. The sea bass was phenomenal, excellent wine, Dulce de Leche crepes for desert, and the service was amazing! The owners came and checked on us and we had a wonderful evening. The view overlooking the Beagle Channel is also lovely. I highly recommend!

The best restaurant we’ve been in Ushuaia so far. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing food. We had the king crab and merluza negra (seabass) as main dishes and the crepe with apple and red berries jam. It was all really tasty!
And the view was the cherry on the top of the cake. A must-go restaurant when in Ushuaia.

Wonderfull place in the heart of Ushuaia. Perfect showing of Argentinian cuisine from the sea. Would go again in a heartbeat.

Wow! I actually accidentally made a reservation here and decided to keep it. I'm so glad as I really enjoyed my dinner. I tried the civeche which was a special for the day and it was outstanding.

After numerous Michelin's, this place truly had one of the best dinners of my life. This place combines the family feel of the place with fine dining. Simply a gem of the city.

• maximum care on the part of waiters (from greeting, to instant response and offering warm bread, as well as offering to call a cab home)
• very tasty dishes and quite fast service
• nice view

We were with a small child - everything went as comfortably as possible.

Kaupé you have ruined me! I will never ever in a million years be able to forget the spectacular meal I had in your lovely cozy house. I will forever dream about the sweet scallops, succulent centolla and buttery merluza. Everything and I truly mean everything was perfection. The food in this restaurant is of the highest caliber! Even the bread they serve is one of the best rolls I’ve had in my life. Dessert can sometimes be a hit or a miss but in Kaupé it’s a home run! The lime sorbet is heaven. Whatever you do, get the dessert!! Be sure to make a reservation as it is a very very sought after place. A mind blowing experience at the “end of the world”!

My best dinner in Argentina so far! Absolutely must try for celiacs travelling to Ushuaia. Service is amazing, and the food is to die for! I opted for the tasting menu which includes amuse bouche plus four courses, three glasses of wine & sparkling wine, water and tea/coffee. Everything was excellent from start to finish. Beautiful panoramic views of the Beagle Channel and the harbour in a comfortable atmosphere. Almost the entire menu is gluten free / sin TACC and suitable for celiacs. They are very knowledgeable on the topic and assured me of the dishes that are safe for celiacs. Exceptionally kind treatment by the staff and high quality food at a reasonable price. I was solo dining and they made sure to check in on me in a kind and none-intrusive way. I hope I'll get to eat here again one day when I return to Ushuaia! Accept credit cards. Easy to reserve online even on the same day. 10/10 recommend.

Our favorite restaurant in Ushuaia and one of the best meals we had during our 60 days in Argentina. The sea bass was UNREAL DELICIOUS wow wow wow can’t express how much my friend and I loved it. The amazing food don’t stop there though—the desserts we had were so amazing. I really wish we could’ve gone back again to try their king crab and squid entrees. Don’t bother with the restaurants on the tourist street—come here and you won’t be disappointed!

Absolutely loved the food and the impeccable yet warm service. For 2 adults we ordered the tasting and for the kids they've recommended us a suitable set of a la carte. The tasting was the right choice, everything was delicious and non-flashy-but-subtle. Kids totally loved octopus, crab and beef. Sea bass was mind blowing. The service was invisible, warm, swift and smooth; waiters served our kids stately, respectfully and with just a right amount of humor. We plan to return to Ushuaia in winter, and we'll definitely come to Kaupé again.

Once in a while, the restaurant excedes all expectations. That is Kaupe. A family run, fine dining restaurant with impeccable service and some of the best cuisine we came across in Argentina. We had two bottles of organic red wine and 4 plates of food that we shared (we love to dine tapas style). 5 stars all the way!!! Sadly we did not get enough time for a second visit during our stay in Ushuaia. Amazing restaurant.

The best meal I've had in 2 months of being in Argentina! The chef was super friendly and the food my husband and I ordered was absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend the scallops ceviche! We also loved the seabass in Lebanon and sage and the Kaupe centollon crab. We will be back :)

Great restaurant, great staff.
I came here for two days since I enjoyed so much my first meal.
The fish is SUPER fresh, the service is professional and the waiters are some of the nicest I found in Argentina!
The owner is the chef which appears to be a very precessional but nice and funny person.

Great view and great food. Service was prompt and staff very helpful. Steaks were very tender and juicy, sauces tasty as well. Would recommend.

Everything was cooked to perfection.

We ended up repeating the appetizers (centolla natural and ceviche de vieiras), they were just too good.

This place is worth visiting Ushuaia for.

The only con is that they only serve the centolla meat and not the whole centolla. We were looking forward to work for it and get the calda from the head.

Fantastic food and service! Wonderful experience and wish I could go every week. Octopus special, sea bass which was cooked perfectly and the king crab and spinach chowder. The chowder was not creamy and had a lite broth, perfect for me.
