This park is a monument to the desaparecidos from the Argentine military dictatorship from the 1960s to the 1980s. It is a very solemn place and is well worth the trip to see it. I saw a couple of people being somewhat disrespectful (one couple was filming a workout instructional video right by one of the memorial) so please try to be respectful.

Visiting this memorial makes you think of the pain experienced by the families who lost loved ones through contemporary art. My favorite piece is this upside down house (on further research they are prison cells) which to me signified the many families whose lives and homes were permanently turned upside down during this episode of Argentine history.

This park is at the same time very relaxing and absolutely bone chilling terrifying. Relaxing because it is a great place where to take a leisurely stroll, take in the views of the Rio de la Plata river, have a picnic on the expansive grass lawns. Terrifying because it is also a monument to the memory of the over 30.000 people fallen during the 7 years of Argentina's dictatorship and state terrorism. You can find seemingly endless walls with the names of those who perished written on them (a similar concept to the wall at the Vietnam memorial in Washington DC, USA) and a series of monuments and statues to remember this awful period in Argentina's recent history. Unfortunately there is very little explanation of what you are seeing, but you can find some info on the artwork and most is very suggestive anyway. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you are unfamiliar with Argentina's period going from 1976 to 1983 as this will make an impression on you, spurring you to learn more about it.

Beatiful spot to take your book and spend a sunny afternoon.
Don't forget your bike and stay as much as you can. Also, there's a water spot! Incredible for all parks in Buenos Aires.

One of the most beautiful, interesting and sad places I’ve seen. The place was well chosen to keep the memories alive so they don’t repeat. It’s hard to see so many names on those walls but I feel this country has much to teach others about history, e.g. Brazil.

Very interesting riverside park dedicated to the memory of those murdered by the military junta during the 70s and 80s. Definitely worth a visit!

A day in paradise.

Open spaces in front of the big lake (Mar de la Plata).

Near the coast you can listen the waves smashing against the stones.

It's a delightful place to share a few hours stay with your family, friends or with your special person.

And is necessary to highlight than the weather can ruin your stay in this beautiful and amazing place. So, be careful, use your weather apps trying to avoid a raining day.

Nice place. Just by the river. To disconnect from the city and connect with Nature. Perfect for walks and picnic. Bikes and dogs are allowed. The sunset is the best time.

My husband and I went for a walk around the memorial and found it to be very peaceful...there is a museum on site to read more facts about the time...personally found it difficult to read about and feel all the tradegys of the era...but nonetheless a beautiful, clean peaceful memorial

this is not a touristy place, but it doesn't need to be one in order to let you disconnect and enjoy your time. On one side, there is the green areas of the park itself, and right across, the river where sometimes you can almost see Uruguay. Nice please. Been many times. Never crowded.

Evocative and sensitive place. Great to spend an afternoon in a quiet, safe place next to the river. An amazing spot to take pictures too, but make sure you get a permission at the entry since it's a memorial site. The Sala PAIS tends to have art exhibits too, make sure you don't miss it.

Can't miss it if you are into Latin american history. The park dedicated to the memory of the desaparecidos is awesome. They alsk offer a guided tour where they explain the sculpture and piece kf art in the site. Good for having a walk and relax.
