I visited there at the end of winter, this area is so beautiful and remote(no one was there except me and my friends), there was an offroad drive from the main road to monastery(better if you have off road vehicles otherwise do a short walk), if you like atmospheric ambience i would prefer trekking from there to the opposite side of the hill(there is a stream). It was a wonderful experience.

This monastery was very quiet (I was the only one there) and very easy to access from the end of the road. You can do the loop trail which will take approximately 2 hours and you can also see the church. It is an easy hike that can be done with kids.

Very cool ruins of the monastery in the middle of a forest. The walk to it itself is nice already.

Try using google map, there was a moment that I went off road by a confusing signs that they have provided on the way. If it is a rainy day make sure to wear a good hiking shoes. Also in a normal day just good walking shoes are okay. The hike took 30 minutes one way for me. And after a hike I got to this beautiful monastery which is drawn in the middle of forest with growing grass and tress on all over it.

Abandoned church. The building made you think how people were able to build something like this in 1200, so high.
It’s better to use maps me app which shows the routes there. Be careful, the road could be very slippery

It is possible to reach the monastery by public bus. 2023 September info, take the city bus (there seems only one line of the city bus) towards the direction to the monastery, it will be the last bus stop, before the bus make the U-turn. From there walk 1-1.5 hours to reach the monastery. Bus fare 100 dram.

Unlike its less isolated sibling ruin Jukhtavank, this place has an intense, slightly creepy feeling that leaves you in a strange mood, and wouldn't have been amiss in a weird Soviet film. It's truly a must if you visit Dilijan - especially if you're brave, sensitive, and alone.

I loved hiking to this place. You will meet cows on the way. The church is not touristic at all, so perfect for me :)

A great, fantastic place...
At first it is very hard to find the monastery which is in a dense forest... The monastery is small... But you can see that the walls inside are built with cross stones (khachkars). The walls are covered with moss which makes it unique. In winter when there is a little sunshine inside the church the walls are becoming golden. The places itself is mysterious...
You can lie on the roof of the church and stay there for hours!!!!

Difficult and poorly marked hike to get here, but super cool place overrun by the forest.

Very nice monastery hidden in the forest. Before visiting it, be sure that you know GPS location and navigation device, in case of bad wheather you can lose direction in the forest

It is a hidden church in Dilijan national park. You can get there by following red marks on trees. Be careful to not be lost.
