You need to read the location description from the owners and review the place based on what is offering, not your personal desires and delusions, stay objective and be fair.
The location is great with astonishing view, on the top of a hill/ mountain and surrounded by forest, there are only a few neighbours.
The staff, who are the owners as well, are preparing very nice traditional meals for 10€/ meal/ person, nicely served and they are very kind, the english level is enough to get by.
The road is challenging, but it can be definitely done in a 2WD car, just choose the 1st gear and drive continuously, do not stop and go with the wheels on the higher sections so you will not get stuck. There are only 3-4 difficult sections of the road, and the rest is very easy.

What an amazing place!! If you are there, go! You will not regret it. They make super nice and delicious dinner and breakfast with home-made and fresh local products and the owners are super friendly.

We stayed for one night and they picked us up in Përmet because our car could not handle the road after rain. I would recommend to call them and ask for pick-up if you have a rental car that is not made for off-road.

I visited this place for the 1st time in 2022 and loved it at first sight. Since, I am organizing yoga retreats twice a year in this special place, hold by an extremely kind family that feels like mine 💓

We had a wonderful time in this place. The hosts were so nice, making you feel like home. Definitely, we will come back here in the future, maybe we'll spend more nights in this place. Please consider asking the hosts for directions, as they are very helpful, and do not rely so much on Google maps( we had an adventure as we visited Osumit canion, and the GPS suggested a 1 hour route to permet - which is impossible to do if you don't have a strong 4x4 car -please ask directions from the hosts!!😅. They tried to help us asking their friends if we can take that road with the car we have, but no one recommended, so we had to return, and arrived after 5 hours drive at the location). Even though we arrived super late, everyone was up to welcome us on the arrival. In the morning we had an amazing breakfast, which brought up all the childhood memories. Fortunately, after we went to Langarica canyon, we returned just în time for an amazing and diverse home cooked dinner, in the sunset light. We also had some pets to keep us busy (the funny walking dog and the kittens)
The location is super clean ( especially considering that it is in the countryside).
Indeed, the place is super quiet, no loud music, no neighbors, no nothing around (as I've seen this mentioned in some comments) but it is an authentic experience, the food is excellent (and not expensive at all). Really looking forward to coming back 😊

If I could back in time and plan my holidays again... I would spend at least whole week in this place. People who run this place are so kind. We spend wonderful 2 days. They have lovely dogs and cats. We ate the best food in Albania. This food is like the food which your mum or grandma cook. They are using their own vegetables from the garden. Everything is fresh. The building where you staying looks very old, like monument, traditional house. Looks amazing. From the garden you have outstanding view to the valley and mountains.
If you plan to visit this place it may be difficult to get there with a car with low suspension. If you don't have a car you can go to Permet and then take a taxi or other transport. It worth it.

Wow! All the stars. My friend and I had the most fabulous time staying at the Traditional Permet Guesthouse with Florida and Krishtaq. The view from the balcony is unparalleled. It was as if we had entered into an early 19th century sublime painting—breathtaking. The house itself is majestic; we felt like queens in our stately living quarters! Also, they have some very sweet, very funny cats. Finally, Florida and Krishtaq were wonderful hosts—kind, generous, and joyous. They prepared delicious meals, over which we laughed and shared stories. We hope to return one day!

How fantastic can a place be? Traditional Guesthouse: Yes!

One of our best stays in Albania. The owner family was reaaaaally friendly. The food was really delicious. The view from the terrace at evening reaaaaally mind blowing!

The way up is possible with any car but you need courage for some parts. Don’t be afraid you can make it.

This was by far the best stay we had during our trip. The hosts are lovely! This place is a little harder to get to, off the beaten path, but the views are spectacular! The traditional stone house is located on top of the hill with amazing views of the Vjosa valley. The husband and wife that run the property are great people, and they really go above and beyond to accommodate their guests. We had a teething baby with us, that would not stop fussing and crying, and they tried to help with everything they could.
Please note that this is a traditional house, with a shared bathroom. It is not luxury, but it is the greatest Albanian country life experience you could ask for, with delicious food, fresh air, and lovely people. We will definitely go back!

I had an unforgettable time at Flora's and Kristaq's place. Having stayed in many guesthouses around Albania, I can confidently say that this is the best one. Bual village is a hidden treasure of south-eastern Albania and the house offers a spectacular view of the river and mountains. But it's the hospitality and the passion of Flora, Kristaq and Mondi that makes this a unique experience. Flora spoiled us with delicious traditional food, she even shared with me the recipe of my favorite dish. Kristaq told us the history of the village and suggested some nice spots that we visited. It was super nice from Mondi to offer to pick us at the entrance of the village and to help us with the luggage. I am glad I had the chance to get to know this amazing family. I highly recommend!

The best view you will ever wake up in the morning at. The owners Florida and Kristaq are what make this guesthouse a rare gem to experience. The delicious fresh food is cooked by Florida's hands. That's the beauty of Albania, raw, unsophisticated, real, wild natural beauty and unique people.

The road to access the guesthouse was super difficult with our rented VW Polo but it was worth it!
A place where you can eat cucumber directly from the garden. As well as a slice of byrek and enough raki to Last an entire night.

Very cosy accomodation! It was like home...when we visit my mum :))) We ordered also food and it was local (some home made - marmelade, cheese, butter...), traditional and delicious! The place is good also for kids and dogs. We had it including babysitting :)
The road from Permet is gravel road, in the rain it isn't easy... Rooms are clean, one bathroom is good, view is perfect!

Wonderful homestay in a traditional Ottaman-era house. Lovely family host, terrific views and food. A rough road to get there, and not all the comforts home - but a terrific place!

You can have a degustation of traditional dishes by ordering the special menu. very polite staff and a quiet place. panoramic view and very clean and tight service. highly recommend! to try: frighten egg yolks.

Beautiful home and wonderful family, we will cherish the memory of this trip!

This place is nothing you expect. Everything you need to live it to the fullest. The hosts are wonderful people, kind and very friendly.
The house is safe and super clean.
For me is a 5 star in everything.
