Vjosa Explorer RAFTING ALBANIA

We had a wonderful experience with the rafting! The host Irma and guides were super kind, professional, helpful and very funny. They speak English very well and give you warm welcome! We got all professional equipment and necessary stuff. Also your stuff is kept safe in their office. The rafting lasted about 3 hours in an amazing route (Vjosa is terrific 😍). In addition, the host takes pictures and videos of you and they give you them at the end (included in the ticket price). You have to add this to your life diary. Highly recommended!!!!

Amazing experience with Vjosa explorer! Very professional guide and team! They equiped us with all necessary clothes and equipments that were new and very clean and gave us explanations and instruction about the trip. During the trip we had the possibility to swim amd rest in the riverside. Very nice guy Drini the shepherd of a flock of sheep and goats that we found during the stay on the coast, who allowed the children to milk the goats and taste the fresh milk. It was a fantastic experience for them! The home made tea by Irena with traditional local herbs was quite special! We highly recomend Vjosa Explorer to all the albanians and tourists coming in Albania, as well as we highly recomend to spend some time in Permet and Vjosa park, the last wild river in Europe that is from few months a protected national park!

We did the raft with only 2 people and it went great. The people are really nice and were really kind. Great guidance on the raft and amazing pictures were made for us. They even helped us with further transport in our journey through Albania.

Wonderful, the very best rafting company, all superbly managed by Irma. Great equipment, and lots of attention to detail to ensure a memorable rafting experience on a beautiful river with exciting rough water sections (including a free photo album, cliff jumping and swimming stop). Very good English spoken, and our river guide Giorgio was excellent. Highly recommended.

We had an unforgetable experience with our children of 9 and 11 years old.
After rafting for a while you can jump from a rock in the water. You also get snacks and drinks. Then you raft further. You can also swim in the river.
We loved it very much. I recommend it for families with children who travel around Permet, Albania.

Did a rafting tour and it was amazing from start to finish! They were super communicative before the tour, provided instructions in both English and Italian to accommodate the group, and then were so much fun during the tour. It was amazing raft/float and a great way to relax and see the surroundings. Highly recommend!!!

A small company very well organised and easy to find, as it is well sign posted on the road just outside Permet.
They are highly professional and they clearly care for their customers as well as for the natural environment of the Vjosa river.
Despite being August, we had a great rafting experience because we were a small group with just one raft, so we moved faster and we were ahead of all other big groups. That made us feel we had the river just for ourselves!
Half way we stopped to swim and then we were offered fresh fruit, biscuits and the local mountain tea, a nice touch.
Irma, who runs the office, is a lovely woman who is fluent in English and Italian.

It was such a great experience! Everything was super organised. Even the booking before just worked easily. The crew was very lovely and they took care of everything. We slept on the clean, quiet campsite and then went on a perfect rafting tour - everything was super clean and organised. Our guide was great. I would recommend it to everyone!

We've had a great experience here, the whole team is super nice and give great anecdotes. The equipment is recent and of high quality and we were even given some refreshments and fruits. Hospitality and professionalism at its best!

Vjosa Explorer boys are top du top. Fiorent drove us to the river we did rafting with Ilir and Aldo, their smiley and full of kindness faces make the whole journey a joyful experience. Professionalism and energy make the trip look like a simple walk in the park. Rafting on its own is a superb experience on the last wild river in Europe.

We went back in town with an Albanian furgon experience and ready to continue our day in the mountains for a village, history, forest and food exploring with Jonid ( who is an exceptional driver). Sceneries are mesmerising, the air is fresher than fresh, and you think to be in another parallel world.
Almost on top of the mountain, we meet with Shaqo, fourth-generation guardian of the forest ( knight of those mountains). Highly recommend trying some of his wife butter and his rakia.

On top of the mountain is Frasher, a famous village that used to have 42 neighbourhoods 150 years ago and worth visiting the museum of the most famous Albanian brothers 'Vellezerit Frasheri.'

Jonid's smooth driving takes us to Sulo's house for lunch/dinner. His mom is the Michelin star chef of the area, and his father is a great storyteller.
Sulo is a tornado of energy and a real young local entrepreneur. He goes above and beyond to make his guests happy. I highly recommended trying the wild rose jam from them. What a family, mmmmm food and breathtaking views from their garden.

Driving back, we stop to say hi to Liku, a hardworking beekeeper with a big moustache. You can tell from the first moment that generosity and he go along very well with each other. His bees fly around the wild vegetation of the mountains and no comment on the quality of his honey.

We arrive in Permet after 10 pm and there still time for another bar sitting ( national sport in Albania) and more local stories. Avenir after 15 years in the UK has returned and invested in a super cool mini boutique hotel.

It was about midnight when I went to sleep immensely impressed by the authentic day in this beautiful part of Albania.

Vjosa Explorer team was like a big orchestra playing all sorts of experiences for a modest fee.

Such a great experience. Lovely people, honest and professional. They get out of your way to make you feel special. Rafting was a great amazing, the river is perfect and it’s the right amount between relaxing and exercising. Would highly recommend

We had SO MUCH FUN!! guides were all friendly and want you to have a good time on the river. Go woth vjosa explorer if you're looking to have a fun time exploring the river and countryside. We stopped to swim and jump off a few cliffs and also stopped for hot tea and snacks. They communicated well with whatsapp and made for a fun adventure.

Had a really fun time rafting. The river was not too intense, you can jump from the rocks into the river with some people jumping from as high as 10-15 meters.
You see other companies going down the river and they all have old equipment, Vjosa had brand new equipment, boats, life vests, bought from Decathlon, so they are not the old dirty red life jackets.
They were very safety focused and turned away some people when they turned up drunk, when other companies accepted them (we saw them down the river) - I really respected this safety first approach.

I can only highly recommend this place! Irma and Jorgo were amazing guides, super welcoming and you can feel that they are very passionate about their job :) the tour is fully focused on the guests with a little stop to jump from a rock or just chill with homemade tea, some biscuits and get some local tipps from the guides.

Best rafting experience! Everything was organized super professionally , the equipment was new and high quality. Some tea and biscuits were a nice touch during a break from rafting. Overall, I highly recommended rafting on Vjosa with Vjosa explorer!
