This has a great reputation and the beauty and scenery lives up to expectations. We had three or four really wonderful boat rides around the islands one particularly attractive one at sunset. Just a beautiful place.

Stunning landscape. We had a wonderful cruise combined with kayaking, boat tour and other activities. One of the most beautiful places we've ever visited. The only negative is the amount of litter tourists leave behind, which is a shame.

So amazing place to visit to see nature! To see how the limestone cliffs just go straight up from the sea is magnificent! So much different to see while cruising between them, and you can go for an option of kayaking between them, that was so amazing even though we were a little bit unlucky with the weather!

Famous area. A day cruise is sufficient to see everything, unless you want to experience sleeping on a boat. We did a day cruise from Hanoi hosted by Vietnam Tonkin Tours and it was great

Definitely one of the must visit places in Vietnam. The views are amazing and unique. I suggest you book overnight cruises to have the best time there. These cruises take you to multiple beaches, caves, kayaking and other activities. 3 times Food and stay is included. Use Klook to book these tours which pick you and drop you back to Hanoi city

Breathtaking magnificent scenery of limestone mountains rising from emerald water at Ha Long Bay, a Unesco World Heritage site. Hạ Long Bay has an area of around 1,553 km2 (600 sq mi), including 1,969 islets, most of which are limestone. Ha Long means descending dragon.

Totally worth it! You should come here whenever you have the chance to visit Vietnam! The scenery is so beautiful. You can have lunch in the boat, then take smaller boats to see the caves. It’s breathtaking!

It is a paradise on earth. When you go to Hanoi, take a tour to Ha long Bay where you explore the Pearls harvest then you take a boat cruise to enjoy Ha long Bay breathtaking view and sunset. You can also stop to visit the cave or enjoy the kayaking experience.

Beautiful!! Even the rain didn’t ruin the scenery instead it added a hint of mystique. We liked the “kissing rock. There’s a cave there that’s very cool too.

Went as part of our tour. It was an overnight stay on a boat out quite some distance in the bay. It is a stunning area and the trip through the many islands is amazing. I would recommend an overnight stay on a boat as we found the staff excellent in every way. On our boat we had great food and a cooking demonstration which we found participate in. The highlight was actually just sitting on the top deck with our other tour members just watching the sun set and then seeing all the other tour boats ( and there were many) with their lights on in the dark.

Ha Long Bay in Vietnam, a UNESCO World Heritage site, astounds visitors with its 1,600 limestone karsts and islets amidst emerald waters. This natural wonderland boasts towering formations up to 200 meters high, creating a surreal landscape straight out of fantasy. Cruising through reveals lush greenery, traditional boats, and mist-shrouded karsts, adding an air of mystique. Exploration of caves like Sung Sot Cave showcases stunning stalactites, highlighting the area's geological and cultural significance. However, its popularity raises concerns for environmental impact, emphasizing the need for responsible tourism to safeguard its delicate ecosystem. A must-visit for nature enthusiasts, Ha Long Bay's otherworldly beauty and cultural value make it a gem in Vietnam's tourism. From serene beaches to kayaking spots, the bay offers an enchanting setting, inviting travelers to immerse themselves in a living masterpiece of nature and heritage.

One of the best places to visit when in Hanoi. There are day tours being conducted from old quarter Hanoi area. They offer pickup and drop off service of you are staying in old quarter area. Halong bay offers stunning views of small mountains build in the sea which are believed to be million years old. The surprise Cave is true to its name as from outside it looks like a normal rock mountain but from inside it is 5000 sq mtrs. big cave. Then the 2nd attraction is the luon cave where one can do kayaking or bamboo boat ride or speed boat ride. My personal favourite was kayaking. Third attraction is the titop island where one can hike to the peak and see the birds eye view of the whole halong bay area. While returning to the harbour one can witness the stunning sunset from your cruise. Therefore would highly recommend it to everyone.

Cruising through the bay unveils a breathtaking panorama of karsts and caves, such as Sung Sot Cave and Thien Cung Cave, offering ethereal beauty. Beyond its natural allure, Halong Bay showcases traditional fishing villages like Cua Van and Vung Vieng, providing insight into Vietnamese culture. Efforts to preserve its pristine environment ensure its timeless beauty for future generations. Halong Bay promises an unforgettable experience, blending awe-inspiring landscapes with rich cultural heritage.

Gorgeous UNESCO site. Went on a 2D1N cruise but I think the activities can be covered within a day. Kayaking is definitely a must to enjoy the beautiful nature!
