We (2 adults, 3 dogs) enjoyed 1 night at Martin's lodge situated quite a way from Can Tho city, which was the perfect break away from the city and an authentic Mekong Delta experience. The grounds surrounding the bungalows are lush and spacious, Martin even has a farm across the road with all types of fantastic tropical fruit. The staff were friendly and hospitable and we had a tasty Vietnamese lunch cooked by lovely Mimi. Martin also owns some cute dogs and cats who are living their best life at the serene Lodge.

The bungalow itself was spacious featuring a lot of bamboo which kept the heat at bay and lent a natural feel to the room. Our room had also had mosquito net for the bed, air conditioning, a fan and the basic amenities for a comfortable stay and a great night’s sleep surrounded by the tranquil sounds of nature. Bathroom was nice and clean and features an outdoor shower which we enjoyed, and there was a spacious terrace downstairs and an open upstairs area with hammocks. The lodge also has a lovely clean pool to take a break from the heat and humidity.

The highlight of our trip was meeting the owner and wonderfully considerate host Martin. Originally from Germany, he’s lived in Vietnam for over 6 years so has practically become a local who knows the Mekong very well (the locals knows him too!). We were lucky the rain stopped in time for us to go on Martin’s early morning boat tour of the Delta, via the canal out the back of the lodge. He takes you through verdant mangroves to the non-touristy floating markets and some other neat destinations which I’ll not mention as for you to discover for yourself. Martin’s boat boasts a powerful motor which at times drew a lot of attention from other boats and I have to say, makes the tour much more efficient and exciting!

The slogan on the boat says “in the charming Mekong Delta, where one German respects Vietnamese culture with all his heart”. After meeting Martin, that is exactly the feeling you get from the man who has built a fantastic place and life in the Ricefield Lodge. All in all, we absolutely loved our time here, as did our dogs and we only wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you Martin, it was our pleasure. Until next time!

It is a very nice lodge in the middle of nowhere. We had a wonderful 2 night stay with our 2 young daughters. To get there is already an adventure (by boat). We were very warmly received and after a cooling dip in the beautiful pool we received a very nice tour over the land of Martin. We can really recommend the trip with their speed boat. That was beautiful and for me the real Vietnam: sailing in the Mekong Delta on both sides green and with the watery sun on the horizon.
There is no AC, but with the windows and doors open you can sleep well. There is a mosquito net! It was a very special experience during our trip through Vietnam.

Just had the pleasure to stay at Stiermann's Ricefield Lodge. Being a little out of the way makes for an even more enjoyable experience. Martin is a great Host and he even taken the time to show us through the Fruit Garden / Farm with has a huge variety of local Fruits of which some where ripe and ready to eat.
The Room, actually a self contained Bungalow is extremely comfortable with all the necessities one requires for a great place to rest.
Dinner was cooked by a local lady and was extremely delicious and finished with Fruits ftom the Garden.
All in all great place to just relax and chill out and recharge your batteries.

Wonderful place to stay when you spend few days in Mékong delta. Martin is very friendly. The food is very tasty. We enjoyed the swimming Pool with our son. I also recommend you to visit the orchard where you can see a huge variety of fruits tree.

We came two times to this place in the middle of the Mekong Delta surrounded by a wonderful nature. Once in the lodge and once in a Bungalow. Both was awesome. If you choose the Bungalow, you will have a nice shower under they sky. The beds are very comfortable and everything is made from beautiful bamboo. The owner always taking care of the guests. This place is surrounded only by locals, so you can feel the local life very well. We enjoyed it a lot and we will come back.

Unfortunately we haven't been to Martin's lodge yet, but I still want to give a review here, because of the nice communication we had. We had booked two nights there, but the weather was so bad that we decided to stay in Can Tho..there was simply too much rain. What I really liked is that Martin didnt't try to make us come at all cost, he really tried to give us good advice and didn't even charge us for cancelling last minute. We were actually quite sad not to meet him, bit just the treatment we got through WhatsApp will make us come back - let's hope the weather will be better ;)

Environment friendly, peaceful atmostphere, a farm with many type of fruits, a private swimming pool, etc.
Friendly owner, he will give you advise where to go and what you should do in your holiday there.
The meals provided by the owner are awesome! It's delicious local food, you must try when come here.

Everybody who is searching for a epic domestic expirience of the Mekong Delta should visit Martins place! We stayed just one night and its definitely to short! Book the boat tour in the morning, you can not expierence the floating markets in a more calm and nice way. Martin lives there, knows the people around, has a farm and a wonderful place. He will tell you a lot about the small town and locals. We stayed at the simplest bungalow and that was exactly what we were looking for. Martins place is remote and peaceful. We also enjoyed the dinner, which cooked Mimi - very delicious! Thank you Martin for a very short time but full of memories!

Unforgettable experience in Mekong Delta.

This lodge is a unique experience. It's an hour ride from Can Tho airport, so you're in the middle of authentic Vietnam (we didn't see any tourists). Martin built a very nice lodge on the riverside with all you need: great rooms, nice terraces, lovely swimming pool (in the right season), very good food, large fruit farm and lovely dogs & cats (you got to love them :) ).

You should stay here at least 3 nights (2 full days) to discover the region. You can take a boatride to the floating markets, a stroll in the fruit orchard or a lovely bicycle ride in the neighbourhood. The owner Martin is very devoted to make your stay a great one!

Perfect place to relax and there are many things you may not be able to experience from city. The best speed boat in mekong delta will make your trip more special and memorable. If you have kid(s), this lodge will be perfect. Kids can learn nature from their farm. Very friendly owner "Martin" and staff "Hao" and animal(dogs, cats and bird) friends!! I hope to see you all again!! Take care always.
