Tuna Hostel

I stayed here for 7 nights. It's fair to say that most people staying here are long-term, which is nice for making friends. I met a few girls, and we ended up hanging out together, not just saying hi. The overall place is quite spacious and nice, but not gonna lie, the bed is too firm. I needed a 1-night break and crashed at my friend’s place to make my back feel a bit better. The owner was nice and helped me sort out my laundry as well. The kitchen is fully equipped too. It's located a few steps from West Lake, with plenty of cafes and a supermarket nearby.

Recommend this hostel but don’t expect too much for sleep comforts. 😅

My friend and I spent our first night here on our first backpacking trip. It’s exactly what it needs to be for a backpackers. They offer towels, separate shower room (handheld shower head) with heaters in them, curtained bunk beds, lockers for small items, and they do washing at 20k/kg. You can also opt in for meals at extra charge per head. They make delicious food!
The location was also great; near well-priced restaurants and on the opposite side of the lake to where all the tourists go. Although we did meet some lovely foreigners staying there as well who were very insightful. 10/10!

The bunk beds are cosy and they provide fresh blankets. Daily cleaning is done and the beds hav separate locker attached with bed and electric socket with reading light..
Each floor has The shared washroom with 24/7 hot water.. including kitchen with induction cooker and with all necessary utensils. It's more than enough for any backpacker.
At the ground floor it has spacious lounge and dining hall. Parking is available if you are bringing motorcycle/bicycle.
I had got it at affordable price at 336Rs (Dec-2023)..
The owner can also assist you with bookings and pick up drop etc.. overall it's good option if you are visiting hanoi for the first time..
The hostel is bit far from City centre makes it peaceful stay if you don't like city crowd.. public bus stop is at 2min walkable distance.

Nice place to stay in Hanoï.
A bit away from the city centre but near a big lake.
The hostel is situated in a quiet street. Lot of shops and restaurants nearby.
Good location and helpful staff.

Owner was really nice! Toilet is clean too. Aircon was quite hot initially but it got colder through the night. Rooms are comfortable ~

Nice family house in an excellent Westlake location.

Helpful host. Good convivial atmosphere. Homely feeling with comfortable spaces. Overall an excellent place to find your feet if you are just arrived and new to Hanoi, staying a short time or longer.

In summer 2022, the shower and bathroom area for the dormitory rooms is basic - and would benefit from being updated to more modern facilities.

Tuna Homestay is the best place for budget travellers going to Hanoi. It's sometimes affordable and comfortable place to stay when you're away from home. What I really like is the cozy bunkbed room that can't be compared with other kinds of homestay. I stayed in one of the rooms on the third floor where all men have stayed. Still safe and quite. Each floor has its own living room, toilet and shower room; therefore, it is still convenient for everybody to move around at night when you feel like it.

The main features of the place is their very large living room. Good for watching free Netflix movies and meeting with your friends. Aside from that extra service, the place has a big dining room, very adjacent to the kitchen where you can cook your fave foods and bake your cakes. You name it! The kitchen is equipped with all kinds of utensils and cookingwares. What's more! It has a big
garage area, perfect for two cars and motorbikes. Side beat! The toilets for male are still in need to consider though.

When it comes to staff members, they are very friendly and communicative in English language, especially the landlord, Mr. Tung; so I don't need to worry too much when I ask or need something to buy in the city. I can set up a face-to-face meeting to discuss my personal concerns (life, work, gym life, sports life, love life, etc) and allow me the opportunity to come up with solutions while enjoying my stay with them. 😂 Lol!

The homestay is amazing, very clean, immaculate everywhere and the staff was very attentive throughout my stay. Good location right near the lake. The price is reasonable. Very useful and comfortable parking. I will definitely come back in a while!

Good experience. Very helpful and kind. I was injured and may not walk for a while from a moto accident during my stay and they helped me get medicine and more. I will visit once I am better (now moved into my apartment)

I stayed here for 10 days and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect - close to all the sights and with tons of food options all around. It's very affordable and the rooms are nice with windows, really comfortable beds, and nice bathrooms.

Lovely Homestay in Hanoi with close proximity to many attractions and museums. Yet not in the center of the city. Great balance for a traveler that is looking for good authentic experience in Vietnam. Minh is an awesome host and definitely took care of my needs. Overall satisfied with the journey here.

Can't say enough but positive words about this place! My main criteria is to be in quiet neighborhood, have fast internet and access to clean water. Tuna has got it all. I learned a lot about local foods from host Minh and ways to save money during travels. Great place to come back!

Amazing homestay, Wayne was a great host making me a lovely breakfast each morning with good coffee. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom very clean. There is also a big common area downstairs, and the location is super convenient if you want to stay in Ho Tay with many cafes/restaurants/shops nearby.
