Ba Be Legend Hotel

BOOK THIS PLACE!! The owners are incredible! No guides were available so Luan personally took us around the national park and surrounding area. We talked the entire time about Vietnam and so much more. One of the best days ever. He took such good care of my girlfriend and I. Great restaurant as well, super responsive and will help book transportation from Hanoi as well as tours and activities near and around the national park. This is a hidden gem, don’t miss out!

Arrived here at night when it was getting dark. Without booking. It’s TET holidays but he still gave me a nice bedroom & cooked me dinner (greens, tempura & buffalo meat)!

The bedroom is big and very confortable. There is a heater if needed. The hot shower was nice :) Quiet at night, no karaokes around. More expensive than other hotels but more quality too.

We arrived here on bikes in the dark and found this great hotel. Luan and his family were amazing host. He cooked us the prefect local dinner with fresh, organic ingredients. He even did some vegetarian dishes for me! Was sat and drank a beer while he gave some good advice of what to see in the north. In the morning we were greeted with hot tea on the terrace and then the perfect breakfast for a long days riding. Would definitely stay again if I ever return to Ba Be Lake!

By far the best hotel i have stayed in, in all of Vietnam. The owner and his family are the most kind and caring people i have met this trip. The rooms are always clean and the food was amazing. If i ever find my way back in Ba Be Lake you can best believe i will be staying at the Ba Be Legend hotel. 10/10 5 Stars!!!!

We have cycled our way across Vietnam and this place is by far the best place we have stayed. The owner and his family make you feel like family! The place is clean and they own a restaurant across the street. They go out of their way to make you comfortable, well fed and have plenty to drink!
Stay here if you are passing through!!

Great Stay with Friendly Staff

Several arrangements ranging from reaching there via shuttle bus, Boat ride, Cave Visit .All arrangements were done nicely.

Disliked · The arrangements were done but the prices were a little more expensive than the actual price.

Luxury rooms. Very clean, comfy beds and sheets. The bathroom is also of superior. Good water pressure and rain shower! Also friendly staff with a good restaurant. One of the best I've been in Vietnam.

Pulled up here in the dark needing somewhere to stay after a long days drive from Hanoi. Luan welcomed us with open arms. He swiftly showed us to our rooms, then he and his sweet family were ready to rustle us up a hearty dinner and a couple of cold beers. After which Luan sat with us and gave us great local knowledge of what to do in, around and beyond our local area. Was a great host, and would definitely recommend to a friend.

Nice clean hotel, comfortable bed and a nice hot shower, beautiful views from outside the room overlooking the mountains. Luan and The staff are very friendly and helpful, and their restaurant food is very tasty. It's a short distance to the lake, and they will take you there.

The hotel is clean, the rooms are cosy and the food is nice. The hosts are kind and they know the place and its people so they are very helpful if you want to discover the area but you don't know where and how to start! We really enjoyed our time there!!😁

It's a quite new Hotel. The owner speaks good English and can speak a bit German as well ❤.
He and is family are super friendly and always there to help if you have any problems or need information.

The accomodation is in a very good condition. Everything is clean !

This is an amazing hotel in the area! The owner (Luan) and his family are very welcoming and make you feel like a part of their family. We had a large group stay there over Thanksgiving and his family prepared us a special feast and ate with us. If you’re in the area stay here!

We booked the 3N2D package with the hotel last weekend. The food at the hotel was very, very good, some of the best we've had in Vietnam. The view from the hotel to the fields is amazing. All activities are well organized with friendly local guide. This was one of the highlights of our four week Vietnam trip, highly recommend!

We stayed for two nights while on the road by motorbike. Our room was a good size, very clean ensuite and excellent value. We ate with the host both evenings and the food was exceptional, I mean exceptional. A great selection of local dishes prepared, cooked and presented wonderfully we couldn't fault it. Luan was very attentive and we enjoyed his company and his wife. Stay here and you won't regret it!

In short - this place is amazing! To me, the value of the services provided is unsurpassed. I did a 3D/2N tour with this as my home base and enjoyed it so much I added another night. Great hotel with comfortable rooms, delicious food, relaxing space and great sunset view. Ba Be Lake is so beautiful and there are so many things to explore. Definitely check out the multi-day tour options on their website! The host couple is very helpful and accommodating.

Ba Be Legend Hotel is our first destination after arriving in Vietnam. We were directed to the hotel by the owner couple. It was a tough hike, but the view from our bedroom was worth it. The room was clean and comfortable, air conditioned, much needed at this time of year, It was quite hot indeed. I can't remember the name of the owner's wife but she offered us "happy water" after our meal (rice wine). the owner, Luan, I believe speaks better English and is extremely friendly, making us feel like part of the family. He also arranged a trip to Cao Bang for us. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again

Simple but great value. Spacious room, AC, hot shower, all you need for a short stay. The owner speaks perfect English and can help you to organise tours if you wish. A bit away from the lake / town but if you have transport no problem at all. The hotel also has a restaurant across the street where we had dinner. A delicious homecooked vegetarian / vegan meal which we enjoyed a lot. Overall recommended! (Just a note for those who are not so fit - ask for a room on a lower floor, the building does not have an elevator.)

Summary: Clean, relaxing, and EXCELLENT food and a great price!

Pro: Newer hotel with clean rooms, soft beds (a bit rare in northern Vietnam), and showers that meet your needs. TV in the room has a few international movie channels, but you won't need it since their outside common area on each floor is great to hang out and soak in the views across the river.

Cons: Very few given the price. During the day, the road can be busy with motorbikes that tour the area. But by evening it becomes quiet. We also suggested ways to use less (plastic) bottled waters with refilling stations.

Loved staying here! Owners were super kind and friendly. Dinner was delicious, such a nice meal! The bed was comfortable, the view was great, overall we loved it! We just showed up and got a room right away. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at Ba Be legend Hotel! We may have been the only tourists in town, but we had delicious home cooked meals by Luan and his wife, every day we stayed. He took us on a 1-day hiking/boating/cave trip which was one of the highlights of our 3 month vacation! He showed us a road to walk on where we got to see some beautiful villages and Country side, that was way off the beaten path. The room was clean, and spacious, and the views from the balcony were beautiful!! We are not motorbike people, so we did everything by foot which makes the lake a little far for east visiting, but Luan would be more than happy to rent you a bike or drive you there himself….Highly recommend Luan and his family’s establishment!!
