Bao Lac Homestay & Hostel - Daily Trekking Tour

After a long bike ride around the mountain, the host welcomed us with waters and beers. The fireplace was nice to sit around and mingle with other people. We met people who traveled from the UK and Thailand. They were all really nice. The host was very kind and made us feel at home. Food was amazing and they made us feel like family. Really had the authentic experience staying up in the mountains.

My gf and I stayed for over a week doing a work exchange. We had the best possible time here. The family is so welcoming and warm, they really made us feel right at home. 😊

The owner took us for a trekking into the mountains to visit the smallest minority village in Vietnam (Lolo noir). We stayed there for the night with a local family. If you're looking for a beautiful trekking combined with a genuine cultural experience, this is a must do! Best we've had anywhere in Asia!

We enjoyed sitting around the fire or hotpot, chatting with the guests over a beer or some happy water (local corn liquor). We met some wonderful people here, both Vietnamese and foreign.

Long story short: would totally recommend, both as work exchange and as a normal guest.

Holy Cow! Twon has got to be one of the kindest, honest, hardworking people I know! He runs this beautiful property so well. The breakfast and dinner are always huge and delicious and he runs the place with his family!

He knows the area so well he can help you with tips, directions and of course tours! I came here for a night and stayed for a week!

By far the best homestay we’ve had the pleasure of staying in so far in Vietnam ❤ the family are beyond friendly really welcoming us into their home with a traditional family dinner and plenty of “happy water” around the fire. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Views are also impeccable!

What an amazing homestay! The location is on a mountain with a beautiful view of mountains and rice terraces. The owner makes you feel at home, as soon as I arrived he had a bottle of cold water for me. The owner even helped me plan my next couple days of driving on google maps. I would recommend this homestay to anyone traveling in northern Vietnam, a very special place!

This is a beautiful hilltop destination in northern Vietnam with a unique family Homestay and excellent facilities. For those looking for a “real” Vietnamese homestay experience, this is a great one have. Very friendly staff and reasonably priced.

Lovely place. Great host. The evening meal shared with others was lovely. Breakfast was also good. I Had a large room on my own with a large open plan bathroom. A couple of Kms along a concrete road to get up to the homestay but so worth it.

Antwon is the man. If you wanna stay on a surreal mountain top with super fun hosts, this is the spot. Came for 1 night, stayed 2. He hooked a free T-shirt! He also knows everything in the area and can point out some hidden gems you won't find on Google. His staff including Paul were all top notch. Excellent spot to rest up from days of riding. Can do an easy 1.5-2 hr hike right from there, views for days. Met a crew there and we rode the extreme north together for a few days rockin our Bao Lac Homestay shirts.

Really beautiful home stay! I had a great stay and met a lot of cool people. Located on a really beautiful rice paddy that’s great for sunset. stayed for 1 night on the ha giang loop so couldn’t do any of the activities, but they looked awesome!

Very clean homestay, quiet and beautiful location on top of the hill, very friendly and attentive owner. Good and fresh food, chill atmosphere. Very clean, individual bathrooms for the rooms on the first floor.
For me it was so relaxing to sit outside and admire the view, read a book.

One night stay at Bao Lac Homestay I really enjoyed it, the food was very good, the charming scenery on a hilltop to see the surrounding sky, rice fields, terraced rice fields, I really enjoyed this place, I Will be back next month.
I really recommend you to come here, even if just once it's where you will see the northern highlands.

Very clean and organised, the food was great and the owners amazing. The view from there is very pretty, and the fire at night keeps you warm.

Stayed for a night en route to Cao Bang. Nice place with really amazing views of the surrounding areas. Hosts were most hospitable and were sincere in making amends after a small hiccup in our booking. The food was probably the best amongst the homestays I had encountered on my trip. Check with the hosts on the status of the Khau Coc Cha pass if that's where you're headed next.

My friends and I had a vacation here. The food is delicious, the rooms are beautiful and not expensive. The owner very enthusiastically welcomed us. Appreciate the service here, highly recommended

Tuan is very nice host and offers great hike suggestions for surrounding areas and many full day and overnight hikes with a guide . Stunning surroundings and very friendly family and amazing family dinner , great social place to meet people . Stay overlooking mountains. Breakfast is also included.

Tuan can arrange to book the local bus to and from Cao Bang City Bao Lac city and then a motor cycle transfer from the bus station in Bao Lac to the homestay .

I wish I could give more stars. What an amazing host. The homestay is wonderfully placed on the mountain. It's clean and also has nice private rooms. We had so much fun playing games with the other guests from the USA and Australia.

The owner is great. He also helped us with an Ha Giang to Cao Bang tour in 5 days 4 nights. This was one of the best experiences of my life. He organises many tours under the name Cao Bang Loop Tour. Our tourguides Zien and Bao were absolute legends. Gonna miss you guys!

I stayed here on a stopover to cao bang, and slept in a tent. I was really comfy and it was peaceful. The location is beautiful. And the host planned out a trekking route on Google maps for me around the mountain which was amazing.

Showed up late, unannounced with 4 of us. Had great dinner, heaps of drinks, rice wine, beer. Hosts were great and vibe was excellent.

We really enjoyed this Homestay! Very friendly family and beautiful panorama view from the room. It’s located on a hill in the forest, the road leading up there a bit of a challenge but worth it. Dinner with the family is delicious and fun, lots of happy water. We also did a 18km trekking with the owner of the hostel and loved it! Beautiful surroundings, saw traditional houses and climbed up to a viewpoint of the pass. I would definitely recommend this place!
