Mu Cang Chai Homestay & Trekking (Hmong's Life Homestay & Trekking)

I'd give more stars if I could. It was the best homestay we've been to so far during our travels around Vietnam.

Ky (the owner) is an incredibly nice person and you feel really welcomed there. He provides several types of half-day or full-day activities to choose if you want to hike, explore the area or do a trip on motorcycles for a really good price. You can also get a breakfast and dinner which I'd definitely recommend as the it's super tasty and you'll have it with Ky's family and other guests which gives you an opportunity to learn a lot about the life around Mu Cang Chai.

The rooms were cozy and clean and the view on mountains and rice terraces is something we'll remember for a while.

Excellent location with a fantastic view. Host was friendly and excellent guide. We went for a 15k hike through the rice terraces and had lunch on top of the mountain with a 360 view. Amazing!

Mu Cang Chai was the highlight of our trip to Vietnam and a huge part of that was our stay here. Ky is such a nice guy and I'd highly recommend going on a guided hike with him. We did 3 days here but easily could have done more

We had a wonderful stay at this homestay, it was truly amazing! Ky is a very friendly and extremely helpful host, the best you can get. The rooms are nice and clean, the location is beautiful and the food cooked by Ky and his brother in law was very tasty. We also did a one day trekking with Ky into the ricefields and villages, absolutely great! We highly recommend staying at Ky's guesthouse. Thanks for everything!

Excellent stay here, the owner and his wife are really enthousiasts and share a lot of very good energy. The place is remarkable and the price is fair. Highly appreciated : )

The most beautiful rice fields and the best guide.
We went by car from Hanoi wich is a 6 hour ride.
We did 2 day's of tracking with our kids (9&11 years old). We saw the most magnificent views on the many rice fields of Mu Cang Chai. We walked through the fields. The guide (owner Ky) knows the best route, the most beautiful views. He gave us the time of our lives. We will never forget this trip.
Also food and drinks are good taken care off. Ky delivers top service. He speaks good English and gives you everything you need and more. Thanks for the unforgettable time. We recommend everybody to go and stay with Ky and do a tracking tour with him.

A lovely and excellent place to stay. ky the host is super nice and helps with everything. Excellent dinner and breakfast prepared by his wife. We stayed two nights with the whole family, we had a bonfire in the evening and a beautiful trek between the rice terraces and the authentic villages. I highly recommend coming to this beautiful place and enjoying warm hospitality at the hands of lovely people

We stayed at this homestay for 3 nights and have to say, that it was the best experience we had in Vietnam so far. The owner (Ky) and his wife are the nicest people and Ky will help you with everything you need (He also speaks very good English) . If you plan to stay longer, definitely take up on his offer to go trekking with him. He will show you the most beautiful places in the village. Food is also great. We are encouraging anyone to stay in this accomodation!

Great accommodation in nature with a wonderful view of Mu Cang Chai. The owner is a person in the right place and could speak English well. From arrival to departure, he helped and advised us with everything. He planned a full day scooter tour for us around the most beautiful places in Mu Cang Chai and rode with us as a guide. Every day he and his wife prepared a luxurious breakfast and dinner for us. He handled everything and finally arranged a bus for us to the next destination, including communication with the drivers and the other hotel.
The accommodation was clean with plenty of hot water.
We definitely recommend and would love to come back!

It was really a great experience for me after a tiring working time in the city. This place helped me relax and enjoy moments of peace and quiet. I can enjoy the sunrise in the early morning with the sound of the rooster crowing in the countryside and the sunset far away in the late afternoon with Mountain view. The service here is zealous and attentive, especially the host is very friendly and speaks English well. I discovered and tried many unique and strange dishes here. I have to say this is one of the best homestay I've been to so far. Wish the homestay always has many guests in the future. If you want to have a wonderful experience please contact with Mr. Ky

Amazing homestay with incredible view. The host was incredibly nice and welcoming and he recommended us a beautiful trek around the villages and rice fields.

I had a great experience in Hmong´s Life Homestay. The Host ist very very friendly and courteous. He likes to share and help. He cookes very well and you can even cook together. The view is very beautifull and it is very peaceful up here in the Mountains.

This first time i was here, but i had the feeling as my sweet home, the host Ky is amazing guy, he help me so much for exploring this magic area. I will come back in next year. Highly recommend this lovely place!

Nice atmosphere and experience. The manager (A Ky) is very friendly and supportive. We had a great dinner with local ingredients.
This can be call a Hmong (Hmoob) community business,multi owned by some Thào families. Choose them for support true local culture.

Mu Cang Chai is one the most beautiful places I have traveled to. We traveled in early October right when the rice fields were turning golden. As somebody that does not typically too crowded, it was perfect as even the most crowded and picturesque rice fields only had a max of 20-30 people.

Ky is a wonderful host and he takes great care of all his guests. His English is very good, so it made communication very easy. I would highly recommend the motorcycle tours that he arranges (he personally took us one of the days), as they take you into remote areas that are inaccessible on foot that are gorgeous.

His wife is a very good cook. My family is vegetarian and they were very accommodating and even offered to cook our meals first so that there was no chance of contamination which we were very grateful for.

Rooms are clean and good. Beds as mentioned by others are hard.

Highly recommended to both travel to MCC and to stay with Ky at Hmong’s Life Homestay.

Location could be a little bit more precise. The sign is hard to find during night time which was our last visit. If you have a solar lamp that could light up the sign, it would be much better
