Nam Du island

Peaceful, cheap, and welcoming.
But it takes 12hrs traveling to get here from Hanoi (plane, bus ride, and ship).

This is the clearest beach with the most leveled seabed I've ever been to in Vietnam. 💝

If you come visit this place, definitely checkout Hai San Minh Sang and indulge yourself with series of good food at a very cheap price. The rock oysters are something unique here.

You can also rent out a boat for your party at a price of 3-3.5mil to go visit the other islands, snorkelling, fishing.... which was quite fun and pleasant as well.

This is one of the most beautiful islands in Kien Giang province where natural beauty is still remaining!

In the cloudy day, but white sand and emerald water beaches make me want to stay more. Really nice and desert island! So small islands, you can hire a boat to go around islands and try diving and see beautiful coral reefs.

One of my favourite island that I’d like to come back again. It was my alone trips from Phu Quoc island to Rach Gia harbors by Superdong fast ferry (330k VND one way ticket - it takes 3 and half hour). I stay one night there wait for an early ship in the morning to Nam Du island (it’s 210k VND one way ticket - about 2 and half hour). Nowadays, Supdong may have direct way from Phu Quoc Island to Nam Du island.

Nam Du is a super beautiful, quiet and private island but quite small. For staying, I booked a room at little lovely homestay which has a few rooms, called “The Stone beach” because it has many kind of various colorful stones here (Bai Soi - in Vietnamese). For eating seafood - I specially love the local streets food, highly recommended for the seafoods market is the best place with a lot of fresh nails🐚, fishs 🐟🐠, blue crab 🦀 , octopus 🐙, shrimp🦐, squid🦑, scallops,... all of these seafood are good for BBQ or hot pot...

For sight seeing, you can rent a motorcycle (120k-150k VND/day) it takes only 1 hour driving for whole island. Feeling the cool wind and the sunlights on your face while driving that was really wonderful, then take a little time to watch the silent ocean and observe the interesting living of people here on the sea..... There is a very nice and peaceful beach called “Bai Men” with long beach 🏖 , white sand, and clear water... you can enjoy lunch at the local seafood restaurant over there as well.

Actually, you could book a daily tour to travel on the sea to other islands near there. If you’re a diving fan club kindly ask the tour guide for the details. The local guides are nice friendly and helpful, no worries.

Another thing I deeply love “Bai Soi beach” where I had stayed because I could play and did meditation with the stones by making the art of stone balancing ... It’s really relaxing time when I was alone with the nature.

Last but not least, if the island has a better way to solve the problems with garbage it would be extremely amazing island for travel development.

The island is ideal with beautiful beaches and clear water. Great for group adventure and exploring. Seafood is an addition to its beauty.

Beautiful islands. For foreigners who want visit here need guarantee by tourism company. But need to think about environment mattes because some residents here through out wastes on the sea directly.

Beautiful island, especially the mến beach. Didnt have a chance to go to the lighthouse. I'll be back some day

Rent a bike and drive around the island. You can camp at Bai Cay Men beach.
