One of the best places to visit in Ho Chi Minh. Here you will feel the real struggle of the soldiers and understand how they fought and survived. Exploring and understanding the tunnels and various traps is very educational and astonishing and it offers deep insights in how the Vietnamese soldiers fought. Tourists can go through the tunnels and can see hidden trapdoors. The site is very well preserved and exploring with a guide is highly recommended.
The Vietnamese food at the restaurant was also good.

It was a wonderful day. The tunnels were fantastic. The guides knowledge of the area was incredible. In addition, very friendly and accomodating.
The Liberation Museum was interesting, unfortunately, didn't understand most it. However, it was really well done.
The food at the restaurant was good and fairly well priced.

Words cannot describe the experience of visiting Cu Chi Tunnels where the Vietnam fought western oppressors for years. I had a very good guide who explained every step of the way what we were about to see. I could have gone into one of the tunnels but chose not to because of my claustrophobia. A lot of the old tunnels, traps, a military workshop, shoe shop etc are preserved to better experience the decades of war that took place there.
I would strongly recommend a visit for anyone that has an appreciation for History. Just remember to carry a bottle of water as it can get pretty humid in the jungle.

The Cu Chi tunnels are an amazing experience. You learn all about how the Vietnamese used a series of underground tunnels to operate during the American war and how they fought back. The tunnels, although very cosy, we’re really fun to crawl through. There are several exits so you can crawl any distance from 20m to around 160m and there is also the opportunity to try the shooting range. Be aware this is quite pricey. It’s about 60k per bullet and they wouldn’t let us buy less than 10 so we paid 600k. I would highly recommend booking onto a tour as you will get a lot of information from the guides that you may not learn otherwise. All in all this was a 10/10 experience for me.

We had a great tourist guide so that was definitely a part of my high rating, but overall thw whole site was interesting with lots of things to do from crawling in the tunnel to shooting a gun. Would definitely recommend for a one day trip from Ho Chi Minh. 🔥

We went to the tunnels apart of a tour guide and it was a great experience!
You get to see every aspect of the tunnels and how they were constructed and used in the war
You get the opportunity to enter one of the original tunnels by either just crouching down into it or later on crawling up to 120m of narrow tunnels!
It was a great experience and seeing the tunnels and traps first hand gives a new insight into how this war would’ve been
There is also an on site shooting range where you can experience shooting a plethora of weapons, we did the AK47 and it was so fun!
Would recommend this to anyone visiting Saigon as it is so worth it
For anyone wondering we booked our trip through GetYourGuide and we chose Vietnam Adventure Tours JSC who were great with a very informative tour guide

The tunnels were good and for that matter very realistic so if you've breathing problems and or you're claustrophobic.. you can try 15 m long tunnel .. that's quick. But for the longer one, think before you act.
But all and all it's a fun place and you'll get to taste their food and tea.

I’m old enough to remember the Vietnam War on TV news when I was a kid so this outdoor museum has some additional relevance to me. Seeing the area know as the Iron Triangle with the bomb craters and tunnels that you can experience is interesting and a lesson in how tenacious the Viet Cong were and how frightening it must have been to be a U.S. soldier in this jungle. Certainly a piece of history. You can also shoot an AK-47 or a 50 Cal. Machine Gun on the range after your tunnel tour. The ammunition is SUPER expensive at about $2.50 U.S.D per round and on full auto - That goes real fast.

Totally worth a visit...we booked a half-day tour through GetYourGuide and got an excellent experience...the guide was very friendly and helpful, gave us a detailed tour including allowing us to try out some tunnel crawling and showing the area around...he threw in a lot of stories and anecdotes...

If you not comfortable to climb in a tight space try not to challenge. Although it's the best way to come to know how the Vietnamese were enduring during their difficult time. Once you entered the tunnel there's no way back. If you must then try the 10 meter but not 30 or 60 meters . You will feel like it's taking forever with duck walk in the tunnel.

We drove the motorbike from the hotel directly to here around 45 minutes, It was exactly the right place for visiting, if I remember correctly we had paid for the tickets 120000/ 1 person. 🧡🇻🇳

Very eye opening experience to see first hand the conditions of the tunnels and the conviction of the fighters to live in them. Our tour guide’s grandfather fought in these very tunnels, and gave us very unique insights. This is a must visit if you’re interested in the Vietnam war. There’s also a shrine dedicated to local people who died fighting. Make sure to take your shoes off before entering.

Cu Chi Tunnels are situated in Cu Chi district, the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh city. It's around 70 KMs from the main city center. Tunnels were originally constructed under the jungle terrain, connecting tunnels among the hamlets and communes during the Indochina war i.e. during 1945-1954 against the French colonialists. It served as hiding spots for Vietnam revolutionary troops. Cu Chi tunnels played a pivotal role in the Vietnamese forces' resistance to the American army. Cu Chi tunnels are preserved in two locations i.e. Ben Duoc tunnels and Ben Dinh tunnels. The tunnels were classified as National monuments. Visitors can also visit war artefacts such as bombs and artillery ammunition, tanks, aircraft, helicopters, etc. The shooting range section is also there where you can fire the bullets from the gun of your choice. Every year, millions of foreign and native tourists visit the tunnels. I booked the day tour from Klook and there was a pickup & drop facility from the hotel.

Went with an organised tour and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The guide was funny yet full of knowledge about the war and spoke well. Very engaging.
Very interesting to hear the other side of the story.

This really is unmissable for any with and interest in history or conflict. We elected to self travel rather than participate in an organised tour. If staying in Ho Chi Minh City tours are available everywhere and can also easily be arranged online. The tunnels are about a 90 minute drive from HCMC, on arrival they are located in a huge park which also has a temple, lake, exhibition of aircraft from the American war, shooting range, restaurant and gardens. The staff at the restaurant were kind enough to watch my bag (we were travelling so had a large rucksack with us, which would not have been suitable for the tunnels) as we took our tour. The local guide we had, spoke eloquently and passionately about the original history of the tunnels and there use during the American war, there is the opportunity to visit several tunnels and attempt to experience a tiny fraction of what life must have been like during this period. The experience is done in stages to help you decide if you are ok with being in the tunnels. The first one is an enlarged for visitors tunnel, the second a short version of the old tunnels. This continues, showing planning rooms, kitchens, hospitals etc with the option to do a short trip down to the second level. I highly recommend doing this, it is passable by the majority of people and your guide will indicate if he believes you are not suitable. It gives a much better insight into the life of the people of Cu Chi. It is certainly not for those with claustrophobic tendencies. After the tunnels experience the wide open park land is a beautiful relief. The temple was also very pretty. There is an onsite gift shop but we were not pressed into purchasing. There are toilets throughout the site and various places to stop for drinks and shade from the sun.

One of the best experience of Vietnam to visit the original tunnels. its history is fascinating. You can actually enter the tunnel, fire the real gun with real ammunition, know about its history. Must visit. I would suggest you to go in a smaller group of less than 10 people as will consume less time.

My wife and I did the halfday VIP tour to the Cu Chi tunnels with tourguide Eddie.
At first, we were really worried and skeptical about them but glad I booked with them.
Eddie is so knowledgeable and passionate about his country and the history of Vietnam, it was an eye opening experience to see first hand the conditions of the tunnels and the conviction of the fighters to live in them. It will be something my wife and I will never forget.

A must visit place! Very insightful place to learn about the Vietnam war. It is difficult imagine how people survived fighting the war… cruel and sad history. At the same time, I am also in awed by the ingenuity of how the people created the tunnel system and weapons with very basic items.
