This is the center of Buonmathuot city belong to Daklak province, the Central Highlands of Vietnam.

Buôn Ma Thuột (About this soundlisten) (formerly Lac Giao) or sometimes Buôn Mê Thuột or Ban Mê Thuột, is the capital city of Đắk Lắk Province, in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. Its population is around 450,000 in 2019. The city is the largest in Vietnam's Central Highlands region, and is famous as the regional "capital of coffee".

In 1904 Đắk Lắk Province was established by the French and Buôn Ma Thuột was selected as the provincial administrative centre, rather than the trading center of Đôn on the Srepok River. Buôn Ma Thuột was originally settled by the Ê Đê, but due to the incoming Việt settlement after the Vietnam War and the active acculturation policy, less than 15% (around 40,000) are still Montagnards. An important battle took place there at the end of the second Vietnam war.

There aren't too many tourist attractions in Buon Ma Thuot, but this is one of the main ones to see. Definitely worth braving the rather busy and crazy traffic on the roundabout to get a photo next to the tank in the middle!

Located at the CENTER of Buon Ma Thuot, the monument is very beautiful and interesting. I stayed at a hotel near the monument - the Saigon-Ban Me hotel, and the view is beautiful. I’M LOVIN’ IT. 10/10, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

An easy landmark to point to if you need to meet (or rally) your friends. It's the first tank to enter Buon Ma Thuot when the city felt to the North Vietnamese Army.
