Hoang Su Phi Lodge

The location is perfect, and the view is awesome.
Close to the nature. The bungalow is clean, cozy and equipped enough for comfortable stay.
Breakfast is good and staff friendly and helpful.

Best for a retreat into nature. Rice terrace is below the bugallows and a wide view to the valley. It is nice that the bugallows were build by bamboo product. A swiming pool with running water from stream is also available.
Local food is excellent, not overpriced and staff is attentive. They even allow us to bring our puddle to the room. But driving there is challenging with narrow roads under repaired.

It was scary to get up to the place but it’s ok if you go slow. The view with yellow paddle field was just stunning. You can hear the bird and see the mountain view. It’s easily to get around to a small water fall, a village with nice vibe and many big field.

We got very lost trying to find this place. Our fault, not theirs. Gracious hosts and decent food/coffee. The bungalows were charming but open air. Water buffalo right outside in a rice patty. Can’t beat the experience

great location, super friendly staff, very good dinner with fresh food from the garden. Overcome a difficult road to have a perfect vacation.

Here's how to reach Hoang Su Phi Lodge from Hanoi:
Take a bus from My Dinh st to Ha Giang.
Tell the bus company/driver you want to get off at Tan Quang crossroads (about 1 hour before Ha Giang city).
Ask the homestay to book a taxi driver to pick you up at Tan Quang.
The journey from Tan Quang to Hoang Su Phi takes 1h30m. (Take some car sickness pills with you as the roads are winding and bumpy.
Total journey from Hanoi to the lodge: between 7-8 hours.
Organize the same itinerary for the return journey. I used vexere to book the buses.
Communication between homestay staff, drivers, and bus company is essential, especially if you don't speak Vietnamese.
Once in Hoang Su Phi: relax, or go trekking, climbing, waterfall swimming and exploring, motorbike riding, etc.
Take bug repellent (essential!) and ear plugs (if you are a light sleeper and the sound of frogs and crickets might disturb you).
Enjoy nature responsibly!

The local family is really friendly and polite, the scene of the rice field is stunning, I really like the bungalow which is comfortable and blended to the environment.
