Panhou Retreat

We had a perfect stay in Panhou, lovely people, beautiful location, even in winter (I think summer is even better). A very good location to have a hike. Nature is awesome. You can ask them everything you like, they arrange it!

The most kind, helpful and warm welcoming staff. They were so helpful to arrange my transfer even in the middle of the night.

The location is a little out of routes but so worth it. The rooms are surrendered by nature, food is amazing and can have access to natural hot springs too. I highly recommend for anyone who wants to put their phone away and being in the present.

To get there is difficult. The road is not friendly! But the scenery would worth the trip if you are staying longer than 1 night.

Room is superb clean with full amenities. Solar powered hot water. Periodically electricity. Room might need to be updated but everything could be overlooked by it surrounded trees and greeneries.

The staffs are excellent. Genuinely there to help and make your stay your best.

Beware of the insects. Their mosquitoes are not nice. Their bites are lethally itchy. But this comes with being in nature.

The food at the restaurant is also very delicious. Portion is big. Price was also affordable.

Relax and enjoyable experience, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere (with internet at hotel common areas only) that allows you to disconnect with life but connect with nature. Hotel services and crew are amazing. Spa services are also recommended in this place. As the hotel is in a remote area, access to it might be rough as only basic roads are available.

Stunning property and retreat located in the beautiful Hoàng su phì district.
Food was excellent and we felt very welcome during our stay.
Once the DT177 road (2025?) is upgraded, tourism in this area will grow.

Did not use the spa facilities so can't comment but in all other respects this is a great place to stay. My only minor complaint was lack of a site layout map and limited signposting. NB The site is large and the facilities are well separated.
For those who found the road in difficult (fair comment), just wait till they try some really difficult roads in northern Vietnam.

Amazing place! The food and staff were wonderfull. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable in a beautifull garden setting. The perfect retreat to stay when you are tracking.

At the near end of 25 kilometers of rutted, gravel road is a five star luxury hotel. Like finding a Ritz-Carlton in the middle of a jungle. We were greeted with hot face towels and a refreshing cup of honey-ginger tea. Hot showers were followed by a five course prix fixe dinner. A stunning find.

Great that a place like this also has dorms, for the more budget traveler. Really loved it! Very kind staff and beautiful garden!

We had a very nice relax time at Panhou. The way up to Panhou Retreat was so beautiful. The resort is nice, clean and well organized. The food was excellent. We will come back!

A sight to behold. An amazing retreat with a beautiful ambience. My favourite part of the place is the bathhouse , where you would bathe in herbal soaked bath. The food and cuisine here is very well articulated and delicious :)

We had a great experience staying at Panhou retreat. It is situated beautifully, the staff is wonderful and the people very friendly. It is a little gem hidden in the forest.

We had the most amazing stay at Panhou Village. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, clean and look just like the photos. We did a 5 hour Trek that was excellent and overall the food was delicious.

Great place! We showed up on a motorcycle. Wonderful staff, good food, beautiful grounds. Excellent, private room with garden views, awesome bathroom and shower. No A/C, but a great ceiling fan - all we needed. This was recommended to us by some Dutch tourists as an alternative to Sapa. We were glad we followed their advice as it was cold and wet when we rolled through Sapa.

We took a day hike with a guide. Awesome. Pleasant guy. We enjoyed tea with locals and a picnic lunch at a private home with commanding views of the rice paddies.

Wow, Panhou was definitely well worth the long bus ride from Hanoi. It’s situated in an especially beautiful and remote part of Vietnam and definitely fits the description of what you would expect from an Ecolodge. SImply put, it is outh there, and well away from the beaten path.

We loved our stay here. The abundant natural beauty and tranquility was a nice contrast the pulsing chaos of Hanoi. The food is delicious, and the menu varies daily..

The traditional stilt house that we stayed in was very comfortable and we enjoyed the view that looked out across a gorgeous garden. We recommend the bath and massage combo, both are reasonably priced.

We also took the day long trek to visit a Red Daos village in the surrounding mountains. We really enjoyed it. The trek was challenging, but not overly so. It was a really nice cultural exchange. Lei, our tour guide took us to his uncles home where he and his wife prepared a traditional meal. It was quite delicious.

Would highly recommend staying at the Panhou. I would also say that the day hiking trip seems like more than enough, especially since you will probably want to spend the majority of your time at Panhou relaxing and enjoying the natural beauty.

The entire experience was one of, if not the highlight of our trip to Vietnam.

What a great find! It is a little difficult to find from the road - recommend google maps/asking locals for directions. Very comfortable beds and much needed heaters and hot water for the cold winter months. Amazing food and great Internet connection. Staff are very friendly and helpful with organizing activities.

Perfect place to stay for a couple of nights, especially after few days on a road. Beds are super comfortable, service and food is good. The whole place just whispers - relax.... Great hikes as well
