Nậm Lỳ Retreat

Paradise! Nậm Lỳ Retreat is the real expression of North Vietnam. I arrived here because I wanted to avoid touristic places and discover an authentic traditional place in the middle of the mountains. Well, I found it. A hidden gem to rest and relax between endless rice fields that you can walk through with people working. Natural hikings, refreshing waterfalls and local villages. The bedrooms are very comfortable and peaceful. Lee is very helpful, his family very kind and all the staff are very friendly. I won’t forget about waking up every day with the most beautiful view, the breathtaking sunsets and the clear moon sky. Recommended 100%!

The two of us visited here in early October 2023 as part of our tour of North Vietnam. We keep unforgettable memories of our visit to Nam Ly Retreat. Don Lee, the owner, personally drove us from Hanoi to the retreat in an incredible drive over a beautiful but impassable road. What an adventure. The view from the retreat is fairytale-like. The rice fields that were about to be harvested, the waterfall you could see and hear, the tranquillity and the kindness and helpfulness of Don Lee and his team. The first night we slept in the tent, but the second night we preferred the more comfortable private room. It's basic, but good. You don't go here for luxury, but for nature, tranquillity and peace. We spent a day hiking with wonderfully nice locals and had lunch at their home. What an experience. In short, Nam Ly is amazing and the retreat people and local guides are our heroes!

What a stay ! I definitely recommend 100%. The host cares a lot about you, tell you all the info you need to know about the area, which bus you have to take and where you should go. He knows everyone in Hoang Su Phi, it’s convenient and reassured. I advice you to take the one day hike with a guide to discover the area, it’s awesome. Best place to see rice terrasses in all Vietnam, without any occidental tourist. Just for info, the road to come until that place is difficult, but it definitely worth it. A place where you want to stay forever … 1000 thanks again 👌🏻

Tips:
- bring snacks and whatever you like to eat from big town (Vinh Quang), the grocery options are very limited here
- if you are going here from Ha Giang, go with the motorbike taxi, we took the bus and we wanted to die 🫣
- buy bug creams for “dĩm” from Ha Giang, it’s a very tiny mosquito, the net and normal bug spray doesn’t work. I didn’t know so I had to use almond oil, which also works well (or whatever makes your skin super oily will work)

Everything is good. We had a lot of fun in the village. The villagers are nice and friendly and took great care of us. The owner is also very helpful. And we love the cat!

September is the best time. We got to see the beautiful golden rice fields and how people harvest 😍 highly recommend!

Our stay at Nam Ly Retreat was our first step when we came in Ha Giang province and we loved the experience. The nature and landscapes are beautiful, the wooden house and its view are amazing.
We didn't have the chance to meet Dong in real life but he was really really helpful on Zalo to help us with absolutely everything : bus booking, trekking, bike renting, luggage forgetting,etc ... The dinner we had there with Kich and her daughter Su was really nice.

Our stay in Hoang Su Phi was a truly unique experience. It is not a touristic center, you will no find dozens of shops or restaurant here, instead you will be invited by a local farmer (of one of five local minorities living in the valley) to drink hot water in his wooden, traditional house. You will hike through amazing rice terraces or go to local Vinh Quang market (more original than in Dong Van).
Yet it would not be the same if we would not stay in Nam Ly Retreat - in here you could sleep in a original vietnamese house, with the great view, served with traditional food. We have a luck to spend more time with Mr. Dong (owner) who share with us the insides of local live and culture. In short words - we really recommend to visit the place (before it would be discovered and turn into another Sapa)

We loved our three- night stay here. The views and hikes right from the house are amazing, and the staff took such good care of us!

I had a delightful time here. The place is perfectly located, among the rice paddies and it is super chill. I had delicious food for dinner and breakfast. Highly recommend.

I've been here in September 2019. Far from tourist crowds, I immerse in mother nature. Good bye agressive motobikes horns, hello crickets song; Every night, I fall asleep with waterfall sound in background, the real one and not from youtube.
Meals are excellent and changed everyday. You should try rice cooked in bamboo tube then served with honey or sesam. Bed is clean and comfortable. Bathroom is suprisingly clean and modern.
The owner is very friendly and helpful. You can ask her thoudsands of questions and always get answers with a bonus smile.
You can rent a motorbike to visit the region, landscapes here are breathtaking; myself, I prefer hiking.
I will come back here in summer 2020.

Amazing off the beaten track getaway. Great hosts!

Mon amie et moi étions à la recherche d’un lieu calme et non touristique pour nous reposer après la Ha Giang loop.
Mission accomplie: nous avons extrêmement bien dormi dans l’atmosphère paisible de cette maison.
Nous recommandons de se balader dans les rizières alentours et profiter des nombreuses cascades.
L’accès à ce superbe endroit se mérite ; le trajet depuis Ha Giang n’est pas de tout repos mais heureusement l’hôte vous accompagne dans chaque étape du voyage!

Nous avons adoré notre séjour ici! Nous avions prévu d'y passer 2 nuits et finalement nous sommes restés 1 jour de plus.

Le lieu est superbe, il est possible de faire de belles balades aux alentours avec toujours une vue sur les rizières qui sont impressionnantes. L'hôte nous a fourni une petite carte pour aller jusqu'à une cascade toute proche magnifique. Ce lieu et la région sont préservés du tourisme ce qui est très agréable.

Trân qui nous a reçu ne parle pas du tout anglais mais a su se faire comprendre et nous a concocté de très très bons repas, en s'adaptant toujours au maximum pour nous (pour les heures de repas par exemple).
Son frère, le propriétaire, parle parfaitement anglais et c'est avec lui que nous avons communiqué pour la réservation. Il nous a été d'une très très grande aide pour notre trajet du retour jusqu'à Hanoï et a assuré le suivi de notre trajet jusqu'au bout malgré nos mésaventures!

Effectivement les chambres ne sont pas insonorisées, mais on s'y attendait. Les sanitaires sont très propres et lavés tous les jours.

Il y a des hamacs et une petite table sur la terrasse pour profiter de la vue.

À savoir : nous ne recommandons d'y passer d'office plus d'une nuit! L'accès y est difficile : d'Ha Giang il faut prendre un bus local (qui est une réelle aventure en soi 😁😁 mais prend déjà plusieurs heures), puis un taxi 30 minutes et puis il faut marcher 10-15 minutes sur une pente très raide. Pour une seule nuit ça paraît beaucoup de contraintes pour finalement ne pas profiter de tout ce que le lieu et les environs ont à offrir.

Mình ở đây chỉ có 2 đêm, có mỗi mình mình là khách nên lại càng thích.

Homestay nằm sâu bên trong Bản Luốc nên trên đường đi bạn sẽ thấy cảnh siêu đẹp. Mình thích kiểu homestay bản địa, có sự yên tĩnh và nhẹ nhàng ở đây. View nhìn ra ruộng bậc thang siêu gần.

Nhân viên thì dễ thương, mình được bạn quản lý dẫn xuông suối chơi nữa chứ. Đồ ăn các bạn làm rất ngon nữa 😂

Super logement au cœur des rizières au grand calme. Hôte de très bon conseil. Faire bien attention à passer par Ban Luoc pour y accéder, ne pas suivre maps.

Phòng ok, rộng rãi, ổ cắm đầy đủ, thiết kế độc đáo, view nhìn thẳng ra ruộng. Nhưng hơi ồn, 2 phòng giáp nhau cách âm gần như không có.
Wifi hoạt động chập chờn.
Nhân viên rất nhiệt tình, đồ ăn ngon.
Vị trí đẹp, đường vào hơi khó với bạn nào tay lái yếu.

J’ai adoré mes deux nuits passées au Nam Ly Retreat. Le logement est typique, en bois sur pilotis en surplomb des rizières.
J’ai dormi dans le dortoir, c’était simple mais suffisant, ce à quoi je m’attendais.
C’est juste magnifique et très reposant. Vous pouvez faire des randos et découvrir des cascades.
Et surtout, merci à Kich pour l’hospitalité pendant ce séjour. Elle est très agréable, cuisine très bien, vous allez vous régaler !
Je recommande si vous êtes de passage à Hoang Su Phi

Le Homestay de Namly se trouve dans un excellent emplacement assez proche de la Commune locale. Une fois s’installer a l’intérieur du Home, vous pouvez à tout moment contempler, les terrasses de rizières, les nuages qui se forment comme une tapis de coton tout blanche, ainsi que ​​et les cascades d’eau spectaculaires du village Suoi Thau. Vous pouvez aussi se faire Rencontrer des personnes ethniques de cette région notamment les Daos, Tays, Nungs et H’Mong. le fait de discuter voire vivre une journée avec eux se donneraient une expérience éclatante et inoubliable.

Một trong những địa điểm nghỉ dưỡng mà tôi ưng ý nhất và đã lựa chọn để đưa gia đình đi du lịch vùng Tây Bắc. Tôi đã bị choáng ngợp bởi ngoài cảnh sắc hùng vĩ và rất đỗi nên thơ của cảnh vật nơi đây, mà còn bởi Nậm Lỳ Retreat đã làm tôi và gia đình được tận hưởng nghỉ ngơi mà như đang ở nhà mình vậy ! Phong cách trẻ trung, dịch vụ quá ok, phòng nghỉ sạch sẽ, thức ăn rất thơm ngon tươi sạch gà bắt tại vườn + cá câu tại ao ! Ngoài ra còn được tắm suối mát lạnh. Thật đúng là 1 trải nghiệm tuyệt vời !! Đi 4 ngày 3 đêm mà gia đình tôi nói thời gian trôi nhanh quá, chưa muốn về ! Hihi Cảm ơn Nậm Lỳ Retreat đã cho tôi và gia đình những trải nghiệm đúng chất " HƯỞNG ". Hãy đợi đó chúng tôi sẽ còn quay lại đông và hung hãn hơn ! :))
