Ruby Halong Homestay

What a great find! This place is in such a lovely location with stunning views of the mountains and river inlet and away from the hectic city. We adored the manager, Ha, who was warm and friendly and looked after us brilliantly. Her English is very, very good. She cooked meals for us, helped us with everything and took us out to the much quieter bay areas, caves and beaches by boat. Not one tourist boat around except for us. The locals in the village were lovely and we loved spending time walking and bike riding. Our rooms were clean and of a good size. They are aware the beds are very hard and hopefully will replace them soon. I will be recommending this place to my friends and family.

This is the absolute best you can get for a relatively small sum of money, probably anywhere in the area surrounding the bay.

The place looks a bit run-down, probably due to the lack of tourists, but is still very clean and well-managed. The staff is quite friendly, and the breakfast they offered was nice even though there were only the two of us staying there at the time.

There is no direct access to any beaches, but the locals may offer you a boat ride and take you to one (there's a chance they don't know much English, as they only used gestures to try to invite us). I heard the hotel used to offer boat rides too, but it doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

It takes you 10 to 20 minutes to get to the city and the closest beach, but the village around the hotel is very quiet and peaceful, remote enough to give you a break from the noise and rush. There are a few picturesque trails around, some green hills and small lakes between them, so the place is totally worth a visit.

Couldn't be more satisfied. The staff here are an absolute delight and if you are willing to accept their invitations, you will be rewarded with generosity and rich experiences. In addition, this new resort is sure to increase in price once final touches are put into place. Until then, enjoy and appreciate the value. It is clean, nicely located outside of town to escape the busy city, and they run extraordinary fishing tours that I Highly recommend if you are more interested in an adventurous Ha Long experience than a posh tour. Don't hesitate. Give this place a shot.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE with the manager of the hostel. She speaks a really good English, helpful and she can bring you in a “Private Ha long bay” without noise tourist and for a super cheap price. Absolutely I recommend this hostel!

My favorite stay in all of Vietnam!
This will not be the fanciest place that you stay on your trip, but it’s clean, in a beautiful location, affordable and the women who works here is such a sweetheart ❤
We ate breakfast here every day and even got our laundry done 🙌🏼 ended up extending our stay for a couple of nights because we were so comfortable here.

So friendly! Decent rooms, great food. They have a small puppy and a few cats that are healthy and friendly. The ladies speak very good English and were really helpful.

Great location and there is breakfast included with the acommodstion. Staff knows English and is warm and generous. If you want a remote and quiet place to stay with no smog, this one is ideal for you then.

A true Vietnamese experience. At the first I didn’t give much to the place. I arrived late in the night and in the next morning I wasn't sure I would stay there more than the 3 nights I had already booked. However the welcoming and friendly staff (her name is Ha, not sure about the spelling though) made me chance my mind and I spent my whole stay in the area at Ruby. Ha went out of her way to make me and the other 4 guests have a great Vietnamese experience. Btw she runs the place pretty much by herself.
Taking us on a boat ride, fishing trip (the fish didn't help though, we caught none : ) and the caves near by.
In the evening she cooked us a great and traditional meal.
The area isn't your typical tourist place, It’s bit away from the main spots but if you want to see how the locals live their lives, their work on the fields, a really authentic fresh food market, Ruby Ha Long is a great place to stay.

We had an amazing stay at Ruby Halong Homestay. It's really cheap to spend a couple of nights, and it's localisation is perfect if you want to see real Vietnam and take distance with the busy life of the big cities, the klaxons, the stress... At the end of the road you can find a kind of private Halong bay... Amaaaazing 😍 and the cherry on the cake, an amazing host speaking perfect English knowing all the secrets of the place, really friendly, helpful, perfect cook and even... Captain! Yes you can also have a boat trip in halong Bay but not with all the tourists around, amazing isn't it? Anyway at this point you probably understood that I really really recommend this place to have an authentic experience and a wonderful time in Halong bay!

Very friendly and helpful owners running this Homestay. We ate dinner with them and had a great time. They speak very good English.

Excellent accueil, hôtel chaleureux et peu coûteux. Immersion dans la culture locale, cadre magnifique et personnel très serviable et adorable.

Je suis tomber dessus par hasard à cause d'une panne de moto et c'est le personnel qui c'est proposer de me la réparer a moindre coût.

Nous ont appris plein de choses et proposer des activités exceptionnelles.
Je recommande vivement de faire une balade en bateau avec eux c'est une expérience unique de pouvoir naviguer sur la baie d'Halong avec pour seul équipage la réceptionniste de l’hôtel ma femme et moi. Loin des bateaux de touristes bondés et voguant au gré de nos envies.

C'est simple je suis parti plus d'un mois pour faire tout le tour du Vietnam et mon hôtel préféré est l’hôtel Ruby.
Certes pas le plus confortable (mais loin d’être le pire), mais la vue sur l'embouchure est délicieuse, le cadre et l'emplacement exceptionnels, en frontière de la ville dans un quartier loin d’être touristique.

Si vous cherchez le luxe passez votre chemin, mais si vous êtes un aventurier en quête de rencontres et de découvertes culturelles cet hôtel est fait pour vous.

Personnellement j'y ai séjourner hors saisons et nous étions les seuls clients ce qui nous a permis de vraiment crée des liens avec le personnel. Mais le cadre et l'ambiance sont propice aux rencontres et j'imagine que c'est tout aussi intéressant en pleine saison.

Super accueil, super ambiance dans un endroit reculé près de la baie ! Le cadre est magnifique ainsi que l'espace festif ! On a vraiment passé un très bon moment avec beaucoup d' échanges ! On recommande sans hésitation ! On reviendrait avec grand plaisir ;)
