Tom's Pro Bike

I had a fitting with Tom on 10/30/23. It’s been a little over a month and wanted to share my experience and thoughts since the initial fitting.

I should preface my review with the fact that I am a relatively novice rider. I mainly commuted to work and attempted to steal local strava KOM’s. I had no idea of how adjustable a bicycle could be. I began using an indoor trainer and began trying to chase down various points of pain, soreness, and discomfort. I found anything approaching 1 hour became unbearable. I started a training plan and began with an FTP of 169W.

As for the fitting, I met with Tom. I found him extremely knowledgeable and personable. He quickly assessed my concerns and begun to address each pain point I had. He also swapped out a stem at no additional charge. I found the whole thing to be informative and interesting.

When I returned to the trainer I found most of my pain and aches had been alleviated. I also found I had a soreness in my left knee. Tom had mentioned that people can get use to poorest of fits and changes may cause some discomfort as your body gets use to it. The pain had gone away after a few days and hasn’t returned yet. I continued the training plan for another 4 weeks. I was able to complete all sessions comfortably. A once tortuous endeavor. My final FTP test resulted in 241W. I have no doubt that the fitting I received was crucial to my massive improvement. I have no idea how much I was leaving on the table due to my initial poor fit.

I cannot recommend this service enough.

brought my 15 yr old bike for service after burning out another drivetrain. I was wrestling with the idea of getting a new bike, but could't get my size and model.
The service dept rebuilt my entire bike, even sourcing older model components.
I had no idea my bike (Specialized Allez) could be so tight in handling and speed. It's a brand new bike, they did an mazing job in just a few days. Highly recommend these guys, great shop, informed and knowledgeable staff. When I do buy a new bike, I will definitely get it from Toms.
Best bike shop in WNY hands down.

I purchased my bike last September from Tom's and recently upgraded to Speedplay pedals. Their service is excellent and they took the time to make recommendations that suited my needs. I highly recommend Tom's.

Excellent bike shop. Has a huge selection of bikes especially for the pandemic. I walked in never riding a road bike before. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I tried a total of 3 bikes. Roubaix that was built and there. A aethos that they brought in from orchard park, and a Super six evo that had to be built. They walked me through the features of each bike. I really appreciate how patient they were with me making a decision they really do want to put you in a bike that you’ll love and fits. Ultimately the Cannondale felt the best and was the best bang for the buck.

Just had a bike fitting with Tom and his attention to detail was spectacular. I absolutely love the bike I ordered (Cannondale Topstone Alloy 1) but it just didn't fit the way it came stock. Tom took the time to measure every aspect and switch out parts for free and now it feels like a whole new bike. I can't thank them enough!

Great shop with great people providing a great experience. Tom took the time to do a detailed bike fit while sharing lots of information. The staff was helpful and went beyond to ensure I understood key details not only pertaining to the bike but also accessories. Too bad this shop is so far from where I live but I highly recommend visiting them for all your bike needs!

Great experience and detailed fitting by Tom the owner. Drove 60 miles, well worth the time and most importantly- they have inventory. Just need some salt free roads…

I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted when I started my bike search. Ben, Bobbi, and Ian were wonderful taking time to ask me questions about my fitness routines, goals, desires in a bike, etc. They then made suggestions of bikes keeping in mind all those factors including price. They were patient and very knowledgeable. Then the day I purchased my bike, the guys in the shop were fantastic to get it put together right away so I didn't have to make another trip back. Tom's individualized fitting was amazing. He adjusted parts of the bike set up that I didn't even know were a factor. He was diligent and had great attention to detail. I can't say enough good things about this store and all of the employees. I love my bike so far and will go back here for future needs.

I’ve never bought a bike from them, I’m a Scott loyalist which they don’t carry, but their service cannot be beat in this area. I bought a very nice used road bike awhile back, but only fitted it myself. I came in wanting a professional touch to my bike fit and the adjustments they did made a world of a difference. I also always get the Pro tune-up when one is needed, they do a fantastic job. I’m considering upgrading my wheels soon and I know I’ll go to Tom’s for this. I’d say that if you really care about your bike, spend a little extra and come here, they’ll take good care of it.

Tom’s packed up my bike for air travel across country. Even with TSA opening the box for inspection, the bike arrived in mint condition. They remain my favorite bike shop of all time.

Bought my first really nice bike here and I have zero regrets! I was sick of riding a mountain bike so I was doing a lot of research on road bikes. I saw online that they had the one I wanted on sale so I went in to check it out. The girl that helped me was very knowledgeable and set me up to take it for a ride. What's awesome about this place is they are on a dead end street with a longer side street across Walden. So you can ride your bike up and down in a real setting and really pick up some speed. When I decided I wanted it Tom himself adjusted all of the settings so i was at the right height and all the angles were correct. I love the bike and I'm happy I came here. My girlfriend got her bike from the other big bike shop around here and they didn't adjust anything for her. They are a nice shop too, but she did not get the level of detail that I did here especially from the owner to boot! The only "complaint" I'd have is I brought an older mountain bike in for a tune up a couple years ago and I was told it couldn't just be tuned up and would cost something like $400 to "fix." (You can buy a new bike for that price) I work with a guy that used to fix bikes and he fixed it for $40 with parts from Go Bike Buffalo. So, great place to buy a new bike, maybe not a great place to fix an old one!

Took Daughter's Bike in. Have the Bronze, Silver & Gold repair packages. Ours was BRONZE @ about $90. Great Job. Bike looked like it was brand new. Did work on My Wife's Bike a while back too & Bronze package as well. Again Outstanding work. Stop in & check it out for Yourself. Ray H.

Tom's is the best place ever!!! Very knowledgeable staff and kind. Tom is the one ot the nicest people I've met. My mother has been going there for years and has nothing but amazing things to say about his business. He helped me find my bike that I'm madly in love with. I love riding it! He helped me find the perfect fit...Genuine people...Great prices... Clean welcoming atmosphere. Love love love!!!!

I was driving in the area from Toronto Canada and happened upon Tom's shop today by luck. His shop is about 100 miles from where I live and let's just say his shop will be my local bike shop going forward. I was looking at some items at the top end of my budget and was never pushed or nudged toward making the purchase today and all my questions were answered and more. It is nice to see an owner that actually has the vision to understand that customer loyalty is built over time with honesty. I left the shop way more educated about my potential purchase and will definitely recommend Tom's without hesitation. Also, loved the way the store is setup like a nice showroom and you can touch and feel the stock and the setup in unlike the warehouse types or dingy bike shops that are so common these days.

My first time purchasing a bike from Tom's and I'll never consider shopping anywhere else! Not only do they carry quality merchandise, but both Tom and Valerie go out of their way to accommodate every customer. They are knowledgeable, kind and extremely patient. We returned several times and no doubt asked the same questions each time. There was never any pressure to make a purchase. By the time we left with our new bikes, we felt like part of the family. Tom and Valerie should give seminars to other businesses on how to treat customers. What a great experience!

I recently visited Tom's in the market too purchase my first road bike. The intro was like no other . I did end up purchasing a bike. With that came their undivided attention and a professional fitting to the bike. They switched out the neck of the bike so, it would fit perfectly. That's a precision fit.
I also purchased a few other items as well. Pricing was very fair. They treated me like I was the their only customer. This is a well run family owned and operated business and it shows.
Go during the week. This is a very popular bike store and gets busy.
People want to do business were people are doing business. Thank you to Tom, his wife and son

I have only been a customers for less than a year, my family have purchased 4 bikes. I have cycled most of my life and I can say without a doubt this is hands downs the best bike shop I have ever worked with. The staff knowledge, the personal service, and the selection are fantastic! I have been fitted for a bike by Tom as well as my 10 year old son for his first road bike and the fit was impeccable. Everyone in the shop will go the extra mile on each visit! I wanted to thank the staff at your Lancaster location for all of the time they spent on helping me yesterday putting my new bike rack on my Landrover. It was not an easy process for sure. Mike helped me out tremendously and Austin was able to customize bolts etc. They got it on the back tire of my Defender and Mike had to train me, the technically challenged one. Well, we went through it and because my vehicle is so high it’s tough to lift. In any event I got home and tried my bike on it it and BAMMM so easy! My greatest thanks is to the whole staff working so hard to make it fit and especially to Mike for spending 2 hrs with me and being late for a doctors appt. I highly recommend this store for all biking needs! Thank you guys so much!
