I traveled to Sherwood, AR on 8/2 to see my 90yr old grandfather in the hospital after he had a stroke. He was doing well enough that I offered to drive my 89yr old grandmother to their home in Camden, AR to get clothes & other necessary items & then return to the hospital. Near Fordyce, my car started acting funny. My cruise control button on the steering wheel of my 2019 Ford Edge (less than 53,000 miles) wouldn't "set" and hold my speed. I thought maybe the button was going out & kept driving. When we slowed to merge to another highway, my car wouldn't accelerate. I pulled into the nearest gas station, filled up & googled what the issue could be. "Air filter or battery" were the top search results. I popped the hood, banged the air filter against the tire several times, reinserted it. Asked my mom "can you google where the nearest O'Reilly's is? We need to test the battery before we drive any further." The nearest store was .4 miles away, so we pulled in to 609 Moro in Fordyce. Alex helped me at the register. I explained what was going on with the car & asked for an air filter. He said "I'm not sure that's going to solve this issue." I asked if it was possible to get my battery tested. He said "sure, Gage can help with that." Gage came out & tested my battery, which read: "Bad Battery!" Another customer needed theirs checked so I took a photo of the readings on the machine & went back inside the store. I asked Roxi, I think, "can you translate this for me? I have no idea what any of this means." Another employee (Chris? possibly) said "if your battery is about shot, the tester would read "End of Life." I can't really guess how long this one will last you. Could be another couple of days, could be longer." I said "I guess I should get myself a battery & have it on me in case it goes out?" He said "that's what I would recommend." Gage found the correct battery & began to ring me up. I asked if it was possible for anyone there to replace it. Someone mentioned the position of the battery in my car, how it was wedged almost up under my dash, & one of them replied, "unfortunately, we can't replace that for you because of the position." I told them where I had come from (hospital) & where I was headed (Camden) & asked Gage if he could also sell me the correct-sized wrench I would need to replace the battery myself, figuring I would do that when we arrived at my grandmother's house. Alex overheard me say that my mom & grandmother were currently sitting in my car outside on this 103-degree afternoon & quietly said, "hang on a sec, I think Daniel will replace it for you." "Really?!" I asked. Daniel, who later told me it was his first day back at this store after several months of leave, came out to take a look. He said, "oh yeah, it's gonna take me a while but I can get that out for you." They told me to bring my grandmother inside, where they gave her a chair & my mom a stool, & then Daniel and Gage spent the next 30? 45? minutes fighting that terribly-placed battery in my Ford, sweat dripping off their noses as they hunched over my engine in the afternoon heat. They got the old battery out & secured the new one in place. I was SO deeply grateful that they went above and beyond for me, really for my grandmother, so that we could get the things she needed & get back to the hospital to spend time with my grandfather. Days later, I was also able to get back home to Nashville, TN where I live with my husband & 2 boys. The car is running just fine (although I have an appointment to get it tuned up). My grandfather ended up passing away on 8/20, so our time was precious & limited. That day, we desperately needed to get back on the road, safely, & get my grandmother back to his bedside. These employees, Alex, Daniel, & Gage, going ABOVE & BEYOND to help a stranger/customer, absolutely made my day. My week. My whole year. My grandfather was a lifelong mechanic, also a Texas dirt track race car driver in the 60s/70s, and I know he appreciated you taking care of his girls. The employees are very friendly and helpful. The guy didn't hesitate to take their code reader to hook it up for me so we would know exactly what I needed. I appreciate that very much!!!

I was up a crick with no paddle when I came here. I never seen customer service like this. They weren't just trying to sell me a part. But actually cared about my well being.

The lady working and the manager both went mile after extra mile to help me.

They helped me figure out which part I needed of 3 options. And even a customer mechanic helped confirm it.

Then when they couldn't get the part from their supplier the manager called me to let me know that I could find one online.

He even said they could order it for me offline but since they wouldn't get their suppliers price he said I could just buy it myself for less on Amazon.

The guy even gave me the part number so I could find the right part.

I never seen anything like this in my entire life. I felt like these people weren't just trying to sell me a part. But actually cared about my well being.

Even my friends and family don't treat me this well.

Very helpful!!! Helped me diagnose the problem and borrowed me the tools I needed… when I could not get it myself they called a local mechanic to come help me!!!

The employees are knowledgeable & helpful locating the parts or products that your vehicle requires. They ask if you need help so you're not wandering about & check out is fast.

You can find all your car needs here. The staff is very knowledgeable and go out of their way to help you. They can test faults on your truck and give you diagnosis. A hell of a lot cheaper than going to a dealership. I recommend O'Reilly Auto Parts.
