I would like to commend this store for always presenting food in a fresh, clean and organized manner. . I would also like to thank the manager, Ken, for his attentiveness to detail and positive attitude when interacting with customers. He is very visible and always on the floor helping the employees. I respect that in a manager. He also worked very hard with our school program to assist us in picking up donated food for the local church bank. Due to his kindness and coordination we were able to take donated food and feed hundreds of families in our community. Thank you. Tammy B. FCPS teacher

The Union Mill Giant is the closest Giant to where I live. I have shopped there regularly since the day it opened.
Many store managers have come and gone. One of the current managers, Kenneth, is the most outstanding by far.
Here’s why; he’s on the floor consistently greeting customers, providing assistance as needed, projecting a warm persona which has spread to all the employees I encounter, and he is very concerned about the safety of all employees and customers in the store. He also keeps an eagle eye out at all times for any suspicious activity. There are some grocery stores I no longer frequent due to a feeling of lack of safety. Not so at this store.
Additionally, the store is always clean, well stocked with a vast variety of choices, giving me a pleasant experience start to finish.
I am very impressed with the professional manner and diligence of store manager, Kenneth as well as all employees who work with him.

Great location large selection and excellent service and awesome atmosphere to shop in.

Giant is a great alternative than Walmart especially when you buy one get one free and points for Shell gas, earned items or store money off with the Giant app.

Always has what I need. Good prices, and an excellent selection. Even during the trying times, we are experiencing they still maintain a great selection and great prices. They have good wine and beverage section. Still, a great place to shop...

I will say between the 2 different Giant foods within a 3 mile radius, this is my favorite.

They have plenty of self checkouts and the staff is on point to reduce wait times. The layout is easy to remember as well and when asked about specific items they are knowledgeable about where it is located.

With the amount of daily customers they get, it's amazing that they remember their "regulars" and really make you feel as part of their family.

I'm glad they re-opened the secondary entry. It was a hassle shopping with only one set of functioning doors.

I really like this place. My wife and I used to shop here all the time, but we have recently moved about 20 minutes down the road. Where we used to live in Chesapeake, we had stores called Food Lion, which kind of resemble Giant in a way.

This particular store was always super clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, always seemed to be in a good mood. The shelves were always stocked, they had a really good selection of items ranging from organic and vegan meals to artisan soaps and candles. I'm pretty sure my wife even bought a shirt at this store which had the name of the town over, "Clifton" on it. There is also a pharmacy at this location which we didn't use, but always seemed like the lines moved quickly and never backed up.

They also have self checkout machines here, which we used quite often. If there was ever an issue with a scan or alcohol age check needed, someone would usually help you out in less than 30 seconds.

When we moved to our new place down the road, we had to decide where we would do our shopping. The first night in our new apt we decided to try out a Safeway about 5 mins down the way. We got there and the place was a wreck. Since it was later at night and we didn't really feel like trying out any other new places, we decided to make the trip back to our old Giant and shop there. I'm sure we won't be doing that every time we need to get groceries, but we will likely stop by every now and then, or maybe for big shopping trips.

Overall a pleasant grocery experience. We will miss the convenience of this location and the friendliness of the staff.

Usually get long lines here. Expect to use Self Check-out. They tried to get more staffs but it didn't seem to help much. Let's hope that things will get better since I like this place. --> Updated on 07/05/2017: Things have improved so much here. They have more self-checkout stations and more cashiers working. It is impressive how they turned things around in less than a year. I am a happy regular customer here now. Thank you, Giant staffs!

Love going to this giant nice and clean and not to many people and the food is always fresh

friendly, clean, relaxing place to shop. only complaint, and ones not too bad, is that the ribs in pre-cooked section for $9.99 were horrible. Tossed the whole mess in trash. However, one other item. the fried chicken isnt too bad, although a bit dry.

Fresh vegetables, fruits, and meet here!

My favorite grocery store. It is well kept with and excellent selection of fruits, produce, cheese, wine, international products. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The store is always clean and well stocked.

Shout out to the very kind, helpful staff at this location! I'm a new mom who was just shopping with a hungry baby 😬 as I was holding my baby, who was crying, whole pushing his stroller and carrying my basket of groceries, I asked the manager where something was at. He saw that my hands were full and that I was clearly flustered and he offered to go get it for me, then took my basket straight to a very kind cashier who also happened to be a grandmother. She was so soothing to my baby. Then one of the young men helped us out to my car. Thank you so much for you sincere kindness!

Typical Giant experience. If you shop often at Giant, you know what's up. This location is under renovation right now but it's all good. They definitely have a better "fresh food" section than the other local Giant locations.

This is my go to grocery store and the store never disappoints. Always fresh produce and everyone who works at this location is helpful. I recommend making this your go to grocery store if you are new to the area

Good store very good selection when compared to other stores near by. An added bonus is that there is a Shell gas station in the same shopping center so you can use your gas points on your way out of the store.

Very expensive but I always find what I need! Staff is always friendly
