General Store

This is an awesome little shop on the waterfront in historic Beaufort. The employees in the shop are all extremely nice and they had a nice assortment of clothing and accessories, along with some general household products. They also have hand-dipped ice cream and amazing fudge! There are some cozy benches on the front porch where you can sit and relax while enjoying your ice cream or fudging and watching the boats out on the water, and the passers-by on the street. A must-visit if you're in Beaufort!

Wow customer service!!! Bought myself a sun hat when visiting. After I got back to the boat, we decided it would be the perfect birthday gift for our daughter in Texas. I called. The manager put in a birthday card, packaged it beautifully and even sent me a picture!! We live in Wilmington and always stop in Beaufort going up and down the coast. I just love the people of Beaufortn

Great products and not ridiculous prices, but slightly higher priced than some other stores in the area, I've noticed. The store was very clean, and the staff was very nice. They have an icecream bar as well and a very wide variety of products. It would be the perfect place to shop for Christmas gifts!

Absolutely a must when in Beaufort! Such a charming store with young, energetic, and friendly staff. Great for one-stop shopping with souvenirs, t-shirts, hats and more. But the best thing by far is the ice cream! The ice cream servers have perfected the art of serving scoops. It was unbelievably busy but the line moved fast and efficiently. Smiles on all the staff and laughter throughout, it’s obvious everyone there is having a good time and happy to be there! Can’t wait to go back.

Seemed to be a good little gift shop. Beaufort was a very tourist centered place, and this shop is different because it also has ice cream and fudge. There appeared to be a wide selection of clothing, but sizes were limited. They offer a public restroom which is very convenient.

A newly opened bakery. An excellent location for a bakery and desserts, next door to Ribeyes and the General Store right on the water front. Numerous desserts to choose from. A great place to visit and enjoy with the indoor seating. The staff is knowledgeable and offered lots of recommendations. A return visit is near.

Loved the charm of this general store! We bought a cute t shirt for our daughter and some candy and ice cream. The fudge smelled absolutely wonderful! The staff behind the counter were terrific and very friendly. Definitely worth a stop when visiting downtown Beaufort!

We really enjoyed this little shop. Great for tourist gifts and the ice cream is really good too. Employees were kind and very helpful. They held a coffee mug for me. I wasn't sure if I wanted it and wouldn't know until after I had taken the dolphin cruise. I was very pleased that they took such good care of me even though I wasn't a local. I highly recommend popping in this store if you are ever in the area.

Love going to the general store to get ice cream every year when we come to visit. They have 3 cases of flavors. Their blue bubblegum flavor is the best!
$3.50 for singles and $5 for doubles.

Cute little store, got the peaches cream ice cream. Very good! (my pups also approved lol) I also bought a pack of birthday candles to put on my ice cream to celebrate my birthday! They gave me a discount and told me Happy Birthday. So sweet! Thank you.

If you are in the Beaufort North Carolina area, but General Store is an awesome place to take your family for knickknacks or ice cream or fudge. Just got back from a trip with 300 7th graders and I'm sure we made their day! Everyone is friendly, no worries about taking large groups and, and I would recommend this place for anyone traveling in this area

Great local store, with a wide range of merchandise. Great t-shirts, and even locally made mugs along with ice cream! Went back on this trip to get two more shirts. I think they have the best in town.

I stopped in here looking for a specific item. They didn't have it, but the three employees who tried to help me in the brief time I was in there were really phenomenal. One lady advised me two other places to go in my search. They were so friendly that I just had to post a review. Everyone who got ice cream seemed really pleased. I had planned to get ice cream there after dinner, but was just too full. I think I really missed out on something.

I went in to buy gifts for my son's family in Pennsylvania. I am pleased with my purchases. I was excited to see books for children about Christmas in North Carolina. My granddaughter will love it. Great shop for all kinds of gift ideas.
