Pharmacy is 3-stars simply because of how many times I've gone to pick something up and gotten a "oops, we need 20 more minutes"

But the store itself is great, always clean and well-organized. I love Douglas--every time I see him, giant smile on his face, he's the sweetest and makes my shopping experience there so pleasant.

The only thing I don't enjoy about the physical store are the entries and exits.

I have been using the England St location for 2.5 years now. They have been great in helping me in the pharmacy and filling my prescriptions in a timely manner. I’ve only ever had one issue and that was with a gentleman telling me that my prescription wasn’t covered by insurance when I knew it was because I have been on it for a while. I ended up going back later when a different cashier/tech was there and had no issues. But other than that, this location has been great to deal with.

I love seeing Douglas when I come here. I ONLY go to this Walgreens because I know I will see him there. If you’re having a bad day, just go see Douglas and he’ll brighten it right up. He’s also the only Walgreens associate who always tells me how many rewards I have when other reps don’t even bother.

I have only been a customer for a short time, but I am loving the Walgreen’s Pharmacy in Ashland! Compared to the lack of communication and transparency from other pharmacies I have used, Walgreen’s takes a lot of follow-up off my plate, and reliably fills my prescriptions quickly. Then alerts me! I had a question recently for the Pharmacist, and she was friendly and helpful. My husband and I hope to continue our relationship with Walgreens for years to come.

I normally don't leave reviews, but I felt obligated to defend the pharmacy after I saw the negative reviews. I work in the healthcare industry and communicate with brick and mortar pharmacies everyday. I have also been a patient coming to this pharmacy for over a 5 years. I have NEVER had a problem with the pharmacy, in OVER 5 YEARS. Only problem I have had with getting prescriptions is my lousy insurance jacking up prices or my doctor marking brand only or 'forgetting' to write for a 90-day supply. NONE of which is the pharmacies fault. I get all my shots and vaccination here and they are kind and patient with me even though I have a needle fear. Never a problem. They're awesome. The people that are leaving negative reviews sound like a bunch of entitled 'Karens'.

The manager's name is Meghan btw, Mr./Ms. No name. She is super helpful and communicative and answers all my questions about my prescriptions; so if you actually spent an hour there I would think you would be able to remember her name.

Everyone is so friendly and nice every time I've come into this store. They greet you with a smile and I love how clean the store is. I got my COVID vaccine here, and both times, the pharmacist was kind and quick, getting me in and out.

TL;DR: this place is chill. If you need a prescription, plan on waiting for the pharmacist to fill it and double check that it is correct after they finish their lunch (if you happen to go there during the pharmacist's lunch break).

I haven't seen a public freak out in years so this was exciting: a lady was literally yelling at a pharmacist because she had to wait more than 15 minutes for her prescription, (pharmacist was on break) so she approached a clerk and loudly demanded to speak to a manager (lol, I'm not making this up), then found the supervisor and was angrily and loudly swearing at the supervisor; by this point I had already heard the story three times and was sick of it. She mentioned that this pharmacy is always slow and I guess she was surprised that it was slow again today. Some people say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over again but expecting different results and I agree with those people, that is insanity.

This place gets 5 stars because everyone that had to be a punching bag for this person was chill and didn't raise their voices or give her attitude. They should have called the cops but they didn't because they're chill. (The music was good too)

I just stopped by this Walgreen’s to purchase a ballpoint pen. Their prices are restankulous.

A two pack of Papermate ballpoint pens was $12.49! They were highly marked up. I have purchased those pens before, and they weren’t anywhere close to being that amount. I just checked their website and they’re listed as $3.99. Nice.

Most of the other ballpoint pens were over priced as well. I couldn’t find any ballpoint pens for less than five dollars and that was for one pen, most were over $7.

I am on a road trip and didn’t want to waste any more time and really needed a pen so I settled for a 2 pack of felt tip pens for $4.79. Highway robbery.

Oh and I’ve never been to Ashland Virginia before but I guess this area isn’t up with the times because there was no self check out option and there’s only one cashier so I had to waste even more time waiting behind two people as the one cashier slowly checked them out.

Two thumbs down and a big ripped off frown.

They keep you on hold for over 30 minutes when you call to speak with a pharmacist or you are just disconnected after waiting for that long period of time
Very disappointing.

Worst pharmacy ever. My husband and I have made 4 trips in last week and a half to pick up his medicine. The first 3 trips were our way home after work but in open hours. BUt there was a sign put up "no pharmacist on duty pharmacy closed". Then today's trip, they put medicine back. It was asked for my husband's ID, which I had in my phone. Was told.... Not good enough. Then told I could pick up his medicine that he had to come in with his ID. Works place I have ever tried to do business with. I did not deserve the poor attitude they gave me.

Tried to get my daughter a flu shot. Was refused because we didn't have an appointment. Tried to schedule one on the app but nothing was available until Monday. The gal at the counter didn't have any scheduled appointments until noon. We were there at 11:30. We were still refused a flu shot. I thought the whole point was to have a convenient way of getting a flu shot. Evidently not.

The customer service is horrible and very unprofessional. Additionally, prescription prices are astronomical and ridiculously high compared to other local pharmacies. The pharmacy attendant was rude and gave a stare as if I was irritating her with my questions and by looking inside my bag and checking my receipt. Upon leaving the pharmacy I immediately contacted my primary care physician requested my prescriptions be transferred. I refuse to patronize a pharmacy that’s disrespectful with high costing to me as the consumer.
