It was my first time experience in this grocery store, and it was very good. The store has a huge variety of products, and everything looked to be fresh and priced well. Inside the store was well-maintained and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, the impression is very positive. I wish this place was closer to my living location, but I will stop by another time I'm around.

This is an awesome hispanic store! The prices are reasonable and they have fresh produce, bakery items, and an awesome deli. They have bathrooms in the back for customers and the cashiers are bilingual. There's also a restaurant in the building

We stayed in an AirBnB in this neighborhood while in Chicago and being big fans of authentic Mexican Cusine, we were very excited to stumble upon Rico Fresh.
We only came here for breakfast and had every tamale they made, as well as their Huevos Con Chorizo and Huevos Rancheros.
The tamales, every variation were excellent! You’re always afraid of tamales being dry, but these were moist, filling and flavorful!
If I was to make any critique, the chorizo was on the burnt side, however still flavorful. They also give you a stack of fresh corn tortillas with the breakfast platters.
On top of the small eatery, this grocery store was packed full of fresh produce, a huge assortment of Mexican pastries, and a huge beer/liquor section. I kinda wish we had a Rico Fresh back in Philly where I live. I’d no longer shop at Giant or Acme if this existed in Philly.
If you happen to find yourself in this neighborhood of Chicago, and want authentic Mexican fare, definitely give them your business! You won’t be disappointed.

Grocery side of store was great! Well stocked, clean, efficient and friendly. Restaurant side was amazing! Tamales were the best around.

Great place. Five stars mostly bc I love the owners responses on here to the clear trolls who all suspiciously said the same accusation at the same time and never before or after that…. People are sad these days, everyone became a Karen after the pandemic. If you’re gonna falsely accuse a place of violating health code, be a sport and do it to the corporate chains where you couldn’t hurt the owners and employees if you tried. This place deserves respect and shame on any of you for going out of your way to write a nasty review bc you didn’t get your way. Thanks for the great food ALWAYS Rico fresh!

What can I say about Rico Fresh? There's not enough words to describe the absolute best Mexican food in Chicago. When I work in this area I refuse to go anywhere else for lunch. The carne asada is beautifully flame grilled and juicy with every bite. Even the tortillas are delivered fresh, and the taste is better than ones off the shelf. This is authentic as you can get, and the pricing is extremely affordable. Generous portions, and friendly staff. Try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed. This superior quality food will make you not want to ever eat anywhere else again.

Delivery order, this place showed up as Rico’s Tacos on DoorDash and I wanted Mexican breakfast.
Packed SO well in styrofoam containers but then wrapped in foil which was necessary because the beans were the thin kind(not thick). The portions are obscene, like the biggest I’ve seen. Got the chorizo and eggs and huevos Mexicanas. Each dish came with a pack of hot Atotonilco corn tortillas. So for 2 breakfast items, I got at least 24 tortillas, maybe 30. Insane.
The chorizo and eggs needed salt and was made with what I assume is fresh chorizo since they’re in a grocery store and they weren’t greasy at all which I appreciate, but the flavor could’ve been better. The Mexicanas were tasty but also needed salt. I don’t like overly salted food, so would prefer to have to add salt, than it be too salty. The rice and beans were delicious, especially the rice - very well seasoned. The horchata which i rarely get was one of the best I had because I could really taste the cinnamon in it.
The food was good for what it was and I’m excited to find a new grocery spot, which I intend to check out in addition to the other food offerings at their taqueria.
The feedback I’d give is to add options on delivery service to add items to dishes like cheese, onions, tomatoes, jalapeños, etc. I would’ve like to have been able to add that to my chorizo and eggs. Also, don’t need so many tortillas, I assume it’s a expediency thing and that they’re getting them for dirt cheap, but it’s not necessary. Finally, the only thing I would’ve liked better is if the lid to my horchata was taped down including the straw hole. Nothing spilled but I do get paranoid about a driver slipping something into fountain drinks that aren’t taped down. My own crazy, I know.

Good grocery. They have a large, fresh selection of produce. A well stocked deli. A lot of standard cooking supplies and ingredients. they have fresh baked breads and a good beer and wine selection.
There is also a restaurant in the front, and while I haven't eaten there, they have a broad selection.
Plenty of parking, and a quick checkout. Folks are very nice.

Very reasonably priced meats. However, the taqueria is fantastic, the steak tacos reminded me of my trips to Mexico. The tacos were also larger and more filled than what I expected. Strongly recommend not only for groceries, but for the hot food.

A mostly Mexican market that is really inexpensive. Their produce is usually quite good. They have some really great tortillas, some freshly baked goods, and an expanded deli counter. They've started adding craft beers and better wines. But it is most fun to find traditional Mexican ingredients and build your dinner from there! Also, they have one of the best taquerias in the neighborhood!!

New to the neighborhood. Love how clean the place is and the selection. Their “in-house” food is amazing. Perfect additions to any dinner I’m making and super FRESH!
