My favorite supermarket! Ruby is one of the best. She always has a smile and is friendly and has even offered to try to special order items for me that the store doesn’t carry. The managers and the rest of the staff are all so helpful and friendly and knowledgeable about the inventory. The store is always clean and well organized. Rob at the Hooked Seafood Market inside always has a wide selection of fresh fish on display and he’s even happy to special order anything you need.

I asked a phenomenal employee named, Ruby at the Baldwin location and she went above and beyond to help me with the simplest thing. First I asked her for Texas Pete hot sauce because I only saw the wing sauce, she walked over with me and checked tags, then she put it in the phone and told me they can probably order it. Secondly, I told her I bought Allegro Marinade Sauce there before and bought all the bottles and I haven’t seen it since. She put that down and on her phone to look it up! After that had me write my name and phone number down to contact me about my 2 item!👍 Who does that nowadays in the retail business?🤷‍♀ Love her for that and the reason for the lengthy google review is just the amount of time she took to help! Excellent employee!

I am a 74-year-old local lady and a frequent shopper at Gala on Grand Avenue in Baldwin. First and foremost I would like to compliment your staff in particular Marissa. I've recently undergone surgery and Marissa's kindness and consideration was above reproach. In addition to Marissa each and every staff member in that particular store is always pleasant and consistently most helpful in assisting me. I find prices slightly higher. But it is well worth the experience. Thank you

Nice store but i had an issue with a sale price. The manager removed the sign and said i could not get it because it ended on the 19th of Nov and today is the 23rd of Nov! It is not my fault that the staff was too lazy to remove the sign four days ago! I should have been honored the sale price...

I am a frequent senior shopper at Gala in Baldwin NY. The manager a heavy set woman is extremely pleasant and she knows how to relate well with people. There is a cashier named Michael who is very patient, polite, and extremely courteous. It is a pleasure to shop at this store. I always bring at least one or two of my older church mothers along with me to this store and they always express their pleasure to me about shopping at this store. Thank you for reading my comments. Gala Fresh has an amazing deli. The food is always fresh. There is a fantastic variety of salads.
The store as a whole is organized and clean. They even have a vegetarian section with a variety of foods.
Best grocery store in the area for sure!

This Gala market ALWAYS has what I’m looking for. Ruby has been an amazing cashier to come across every time I visit. Her positive attitude and personality never goes unnoticed!!

Gala Fresh Farms is not your typical Long Island suburban supermarket. The reason is there is also a substantial selection of Latino products and Italian deli products. The store is immaculate. The staff is the nicest I have seen anywhere. The selection of produce is amazing. There is Latin produce that is all new to me. The prices are good and Tuesday is senior discount day (10% off). There's plenty of parking and the supermarket is right off of a main intersection in Baldwin, Merrick Rd and Grand Avenue.

ADDITION TO ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Within the last few months something wonderful has happened at Gala Fresh Farms. Sumir (aka Sammy) manages and cooks for the deli dept. The International cooked dishes he has added are gourmet quality. The quinoa salad is out of this world. So are the roasted vegetable. In addition, he makes a variety of eggplant dishes. I love the breaded eggplant. I use it instead of bread with sauce and cheese melted on it. I could go on and on. Better you go and try these new delights yourself. Ask for a taste of something and please let them know that Alison sent you.

Ruby at the Baldwin location did a phenomenal job in assisting me. Very positive & upbeat personality! She needs to be promoted to manager asap

They have a good produce section at good prices! I even was able to get organic milk in a glass bottle. Hope traffic picks up in the store so that turnaround will stay consistent. Nice to see a quality store open up in the neighborhood. Check out has been very quick the few times I shopped there. Much better then Stop and Shop. Keep up the good work!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this store!I am so happy they are so close to where I live! I used to be a Stop and Shop customer but since Gala Farms opened here I am a weekly shopper. Everything is fresh, the people who work there are so
Accommodating to my needs. They’re so friendly and helpful. The store is very clean and they deliver my groceries when I’m finished shopping which is a Godsend for me because I am handicapped. It’s good to be the Queen!

I love this local grocery store. There is a great selection for its size. The fresh fruit and veggies always seem to be fresher and more tasty than the stuff I get at the larger supermarket. Its always clean. The prices are good. And lastly but not least, they use sturdy plastic bags that don't rip or tear easily. I can reuse use them to clean the litter pans.

Food is always fresh. The store is well organized. Recently I lost my wallet while paying for my groceries. I didn't realize it until the next day. I called and a sweet, wonderful cashier told me they had it at the customer service desk. I wish I would have gotten her name. Thank you Gala for hiring such a great person!

This is a small store but well organized and exceedingly clean. It's not a great place for value shopping as many brand names and common household goods are rarely on sale and are usually retail priced. Instead the store excels at stocking more unique and niche goods, many of which are imported. This is a great place to discover new brands. The seafood- although expensive- is on point.

The prepared foods are excellent as well and boast amazing variety. I've picked up prepared sushi on par with restaurants in Manhattan. Finally, the staff are usually very friendly. This location is definitely worth a repeat visit, but not as a replacement for a supermarket or wholesale store (nor should it be). I'm glad that this store made it to Baldwin.

Liked it a lot. Never too busy. Modern, smaller supermarket with a great produce section. Excellent & varied beer selection. And a few other things I couldn't find at a typical supermarket like my kid's favorite iced tea mix and my fave....tembleque!

My husband has visited this store twice already and he can't stop talking about how clean,neat and reasonable the prices are. Also the fact that all of the fish are Wild Caught except Tilapia because they aren't grown in the wild of course. He purchased me a fruit bowl during one of his visits and it was absolutely delicious and fresh. I was beyond pleased.

Yesterday I went to Gala Fresh with my grandma because she needed to do some shopping and to also make a transfer from Western Union to send money to a relative. When I tell you I truly appreciate and value this wonderful lady who’s name is Yazmin, their are no words to describe this young lady. She was patient with my grandmother because their was complications with the transfer because it wasn’t going through. Yazmin took her time to help my grandma. It took 3 tries, the transfer didn’t go through. After the 4th try, it went through successfully. The next time that I go to Gala Fresh, I will only go to Yazmin. She is the best manager at Gala.

Gala fresh is one of the best grocery stores on Long Island it is clean it is well-lit it has a public bathroom it's prices are excellent It's Deli is fresh as is the produce. They have their own in-house Butcher and an in-house Fish Department where they can even cook your fish while you are shopping. The shells are always well stocked, and this bilingual staff definitely a plus for the community will always help you find something or see if it is in the back prices are excellent parking is very ample, and every August they have a customer appreciation day with food vendors from their own products and Raffles at music and free food and face painting definitely definitely the place to be in August. The aisles are spacious and they offer a great variety of food
