Stopped here to get a CO2 tank. Beeron helped me and was incredibly friendly and knew his stuff. Not only had great products but also a good, friendly place to get advice and help.

First time going here but will definitely be back.

Great selection of ingredients- anything you would need for tons of kinds of beer, wine, and cider. The recipes and kits they can provide are easy to work with, and the staff are super knowledgeable and helpful. Best place in Durham to get these kinds of supplies!

Excellent home-brew supply store! Have any grain I have ever wanted and will build your recipe to weight and order while you wait. Also have Epiphany malt, a local malter. Now they also carry duotight supplies which is hard to come by. They rock and their points system is very generous!

I took the 101 brewing course at loved it. Scott & Scott are great instructors. It was fun, instructive, and inspirational, with a friendly and warm atmosphere. Already started making my own beer. And I can't wait to learn more from these guys. Totally recommend it!

Decided to put on my big boy shoes and go beyond a kit. People were courteous, patient, answered all my questions, and no pressure to buy. Bought an 7.8 gallon fermentor, champaign yeast packets, hyrdrometer, san-star, lid with grommet and couple double-bubbles. Guy was happy to explain yeast types to a newbie, and I was out the door. I'll be going back and no mistake.

This is the go to place for your homebrew needs. The crew is super knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive. I have learned so much by coming here and have always had a great experience. I cannot recommend them enough. Oh, and they have a rotating tap so you can have a pint while they crush your grains. Check them out, you won’t regret it.

So my friend and I bought the class from living social as we were both interested in brewing our own beer. We had Scott and Scott for our teachers and they were a lot of fun. The class was informative and everyone participated in a mock brewing. And of course, there were samples of home brews. After class they take everyone down tot he store which was a little cramped for about 20 people, but it truly had everything you needed to get started. I had checked out a few other brew stores in the area with friends and none of them actually felt as complete as Bull City.

I highly suggest them and will be using them in the future.

Good people here. Kyle is willing and able to answer all my questions, and I'm pretty sure what he says is true. Prices are reasonable....not much different than online stores when you add the shipping. But the help and advice are why you don't mind paying a bit more. I only buy online in those rare cases where BCHB doesn't stock something or the brand I want is online only.

I did the Brew School 101 and had a great experience. Informative presentation involving passionate instructors who fully engage the audience. Also, you get pizza and a flight, helping make it well worth the $26 or so that I paid.

I had a great time taking the brew school 101 class. The Scotts were great teachers and helped to liven it up and get everyone involved. They were also very helpful in getting everyone started and were available for any questions. I would highly recommend that anyone interested in home brewing take this class.

I am from Alexandria, VA and visited some family in Cary over the holidays. While in Cary, I had the awesome opportunity to visit Bull City and experience more than what I would expect out of a home brew shop. In 15 minutes I received more help and information from the employees than 45 minutes a piece in both the home brew shops here near where I live. Not only did I receive awesome help on trying something new with my cider, but the shop had a lot to select from. I am now going to hold off on purchasing anything until I visit my family again Cary.

Update: They have an extremely helpful webpage, too! Something the local shops do not have as well.

I love coming in the place for one because its buying local. Though also I get to talk to others that brewing and fermenting to make really anything. I dont have anyone around me to talk to so they have helped me progress in what I make and my knowledge and they stock everything I need.

Kyle and the gang over at Bull City make this Texan feel at home, great beer on Tap, I love talking to them about their own processes, and beers they have heard about, they have a great amount of knowledge. They are even nice enough to let you bring your own food in to eat at the bar! Thanks guys !
