Ocean City Boat Lifts & Marine Construction

They did a great job with the whole long process of getting a boat lift installed at my marina. Kayla did a great job with the all the permitting. Permitting can be a huge hassle and usually takes a long time. I didn't feel like dealing with it, so that is a big bonus for choosing the right lift company. Jessica and Kirby went out of their way to make sure to get the pilings and lift got installed before the marina deadline. My family really appreciates their efforts.

I contacted them pretty LATE in the season (March) to replace my dock that had finally pretty much disintigrated by the end of the Winter - they promtly came out to give me a fair estimate to replace it- it took about 4 months for new permitting and construction (its a known avg to take at least 4-6mos in the Spring season here in the Resort Area) to complete but the finished product was what was promised and more! They built me a dock to last at least another 30 yrs with the best marine materials to weather the tides and salt air. Jason built me a wonderful bench and Jessica, Kirby, Josh and Cody were very accommodating and professional to work with as well!

Awesome experience with Ocean City Boat Lifts today. Had a Jet Ski lift motor die on me and Kirby came right out, got it fixed in no time at all and had us back up and running. I would absolutely recommend OC Boat Lifts for anyone looking to get some service completed on Boat or Jet ski Lifts.

We had our lift installed two years ago and everything went smoothly. Kirby took care of all the permitting which was a great help. The installers were a great guys and hard workers. Very personable. We needed their help on another project just this week and they came through for us at no charge. Jessica and Kirby are great people and great to work with. I hired this company to install my boat lift in OC, one of 4 houses that I own, the reason I mention the fact that I own other properties is to provide a perspective on construction in resort towns. My other homes are in Miami and the Florida Keys. After reading other reviews, but not knowing all the facts, I can state that most home owners do not know the challenges construction companies face, even more so in a resort town during the Pandemic. I do know a great deal about construction, I've been in it over 40 years. I chose this company after talking to the boat lift manufacture who gave them good reviews, and I'm glad I did!! You told me how long it would take up front and there were no surprises. You crew was clean and did an excellent job. If most of your clients lived in the Keys, they would be happy just to see you show up! The first interview process down here is "do they have a pulse"! OC should be happy to have you! Worked with Kirby and his wife to replace a boatlift during bulkhead replacement. Took lot of coordination between me and OC Boatlift. OC Boatlift returned my calls and actually picked up phone vs voice mail. Quality of work done top notch and was finished in timely manner. Boat lift was finished just as the bulkhead was completed. All the service people for OC Boatlift were courteous and very helpful in doing the job correctly. Very satisfied and would recommend them for your boat lift project.

I would like to take a minute and just say Jessica and Kirby at OC Boat Lifts have been amazing. This is a long process at no fault of theirs, from permitting to installation and they have kept me up to date and been engaged the entire process. Thank you for all you do I truly appreciate it.

These guys did an awesome job for us they constructed a beautiful 6 x 30 dock decked with Azek and they installed a 7500 lb aluminum boat lift and an aluminum jet ski lift. The price was great and so was the product. I highly recommend them if you are in the market for a boat lift or dock.

Unfortunately, our experience with Ocean City mirrors the bad experiences described in other reviews. We contracted to have a $14,000 jet ski lift built and suffered from extremely poor service and significant delays.

In summary, the issues we faced are as follows:

1) After OC promised a 30 day delivery schedule, OC took over 90 days to deliver the lifts.

2) OC demanded an exorbitant $10,000 deposit, over 70% of the contract price, which tied up this money for over 90 days, knowing that they were not going to abide by their promised 30 day schedule.

3) OC’s employees were completely non responsive to our queries throughout the delay.

4) When they did communicate, OC provided false information as to when installation would occur.

5) Once OC received the lifts from the manufacturer, there was further delay in installation and OC failed to timely communicate with us about the planned installation.

After the problems described above, the installation itself was poor. They installed the lifts knowing that there was not enough power to operate them safely and the lifts could not run reliably. When the electrical fuse tripped, rendering the lifts inoperable, they refused to address the problem.

In sum, OC’s extremely poor service caused us to incur additional costs, lose interest income on tens of thousands of dollars (between new jet skis and lift deposit) and a lot of wasted time on our part. Fortunately, we found Chesapeake Boat Lifts, also on the Eastern Shore, who are much better to deal with and will get our business in the future.

I have to echo Barbara Erbe's comments, Jessica and Kirby Short (who have both provided a review you will see) have left me hanging... unfortunately, my boat still is not hanging from the lift. A entire season wasted, find another lift company, run from them.

What a horrible experience. Promises, promises and more promises. I'm still waiting for the whip line holders that were removed but never reinstalled. Still don't have the deck plugs installed. Been waiting for over a year. After repeated requests and many more promise, I constantly got phone calls from the wife requesting payment. I wouldn't recommend these guys to my worst enemy.

This is the worst possible company to deal with. They do not care about their customers. They have made a simple project in to a multi-year nightmare that still has not ended. Over time, I will explain the full details, but please avoid working with this company. Not only don't they do what they commit to do, they are actually rude in trying to work out issues.
