Sam's Oriental Store

This place is an Arkansas institution, it's been around so long and has always been a wonderful place to shop, discover, and get freshly-made, authentic Asian food. We go there for the produce, the giant bags of rice, the sweets for the kids, and the meals made in the back. They always have a smile for you.

They also have a nice selection of cookware and frozen foods as well. I've been shopping there since, what feels like twenty years now, since when they only accepted cash. It's perfect for college students at UALR because it's right across the street. You can get your noodles there, your healthy snacks, and even the non-so-healthy snacks that taste amazing.

There are a lot of items here at great prices; However, you can't buy anything without cash! I was really surprised by this but maybe that's how prices are so low. I had to put back my purchases though as I do not ever have or use cash. Because the space is so limited, the products here are good quality. There's no room for the slow sellers, bad products, things people do not enjoy. The place is simply too small to stop the "maybes." I will go back with cash in hand as soon as I can. I found many unique and fresh herbs, an incredible selection of teas, many delicious sauces, and hoards of sushi making products. The isles were narrow and shelves stocked full but people were polite and friendly as I passed them down the isles. It seemed clean, organized, but packed full! It's worth a visit!

Amazing prices for authentic oriental goods, they had a good selection of meats, spices, noodles, fish, they had it all even cookware and house tools from Korean,Japanese, Chinese etc. These pictures are the goods I bought(from my house), not instore pictures.

This store is near the Arkansas University. There is a row of laundry shops. Many goods are displayed in the store. Many of the products are Korean food. Then there was Chinese food and Japanese food. Japanese food had miso and seasonings. There were many frozen foods in the store, and there were many unusual ones such as Korean-made frozen foods. There are also Korean and Japanese cup noodles, sweets, tableware and Korean rice. There are also kimchi and kimpa zawaan, as well as kimchi ingredients. Please note that this store does not accept credit or debit cards! ! It was written next to the cash register that only cash or a check could be used.

This is the second time I've been here. I came here after becoming a pandemic. It was open at the same time as usual, the number of products was not small, and I was relieved that they were lined up on the shelves. There were fresh vegetables and tofu. The shop here is rich in Korean food, and I felt that Korean seasonings, noodles, and frozen foods were cheaper than other products. There are over 50 types of instant noodles. Both the bag noodles and the cup noodles are very fulfilling. As always, only cash only is accepted, so be careful when visiting the store.

このお店はtheアーカンソーユニバーシティの近くにあります。ランドリー店の並びにあります。店内にはたくさんの商品が陳列されています。商品の多くは韓国の食べ物です。その次に中国の食べ物、日本の食べ物もありました。日本食はお味噌や調味料がありました。店内にはいくつもの冷凍食品があり、韓国製の冷凍食品など珍しいものも沢山ありました。韓国製、日本製のカップ麺、お菓子、食器、韓国製のお米類もたくさんあります。キムチの素はもちろんのこと、キムチやキムパ用の沢庵もあります。こちらのお店はクレジットカードやデビットカードが使えないので注意してください！！キャッシュかチェックしか使えないと、レジの横に書いてありました。

私はここに来たのは2回目。パンデミックになってから来てみた。いつもと同じ時間帯にオープンしており、商品の品数も決して少なくなく、棚にぎっしりと並べられていて安心した。新鮮な野菜も豆腐もあった。ここのお店は韓国系の食材が豊富で、韓国製の調味料や麺類、冷凍食品が他の物に比べると安いと感じた。インスタントラーメンの種類は50種類以上ある。袋麺やカップ麺両方とても充実した品揃えである。相変わらずキャッシュオンリーしか受け付けていないので、来店時は注意が必要である。

Love this place so much!! Staff is very friendly, the selection is fantastic. Stocked up on supplies and mama pho. I always stop here when I have a chance and if you like authentic Asian foods then you will love their selection and pricing.

What a knockout location for Asian items. Genuinely shocked at the variety here!

Small, but with a excellent selection of various types of Asian ingredients, as well as prepared foods. Staff is friendly, and helpful. Wasn't able to find white miso, but it's very likely that I overlooked it, as I was in a hurry.

One of the first Oriental store in Little Rock AR been there since the 90's they got descent selection

Really great selection. We got some of our favorite foods.

This is my favorite Asian grocery in Little Rock. Their focus is on Korea but they do carry a little from every country in the region. They have a small section of African ingredients like red palm oil, etc.

They are definitely lacking some regional Chinese ingredients, particularly Sichuan, so head to Mr. Chen's for those.

They have a very small fresh veggie section during the week but that expands to the entire front of the store on Saturday mornings - feels like a farmer's market on Saturdays! This is the only place in Little Rock I've found that carries galangal for Thai cooking.

They recently did a reset of most of the store aisles and the place looks and feels much better - got rid of a lot of clutter.

Their kimchi is made in Dallas and is outstanding.

In summary - I cannot recommend this store highly enough for those who enjoy eating and cooking all the amazing cuisines of Asia.

This is the best Asian market for most things. Lots of Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese noodles, spices, fresh vegetables, herbs, fruits, drinks.

They do take credit and debit cards now, I think. $5 is the minimum.

My family has been going to Sam's Oriental Store for many years. They have a very wide selection of Japanese, Filipino, Korean and Chinese food plus fresh vegetables that are hard to find elsewhere. They understand English quite well along with being very friendly. One used to have to pay with cash here but now it's fine to pay with credit. We get a receipt each time and there hasn't been any extra charge.

Always a great place to shop and the family that owns it have become friends of mine. Been shopping with them for almost 30 years. Plenty of selections all over.

Sam's has become one of my favorite local places in the area. They have a great selection of good foods and a large array of spices, sauces, teas, etc. Every time I go I always find something new and interesting. It's always a fun experience for me to go to Sam's. Even through the area isn't the best, Sam's is a hidden gem. Nice and helpful workers, too. *They also take card now, but it still saves money to use cash*

I used to go more often when I was on the university campus more, but I still love going in from time to time. The selection is outstanding and the people are very sweet. LOTS of choices though to the point it's almost overwhelming.

Everything you would every think to need or want!! Snacks and frozen goodies , isles of seasonings and spices , you're going to love it there

Fantastic selection of Asian goods. I felt like I was back in South Korea shopping at my favourite Mom&Pop grocery store.

One register was taking credit card (swipe tap or insert) the other register was ready for cash but could walk the receipt to the card reader.
We got everything on our list.
Green grocery as well as fridge/frozen/shelf stable imports, and a big selection of cookware supplies.
