Well.. this place is really fluid.

It changes with the changing technology. I am a Low Voltage tech. I'm telling you cat 6 (8pin) rj terminations have changed.. so have hand tools. This place is keeping up with all the new modifications and service equipment.

I was just impressed. Go in..ask for the manager Jacob Wiese. He will make time to speak with you on anything in the store.

One of the better computer retail stores I have been in for a long time, the associates are very attentive and the techs are up on everything that is available today from mainboard, cpu's, Gpu's they have just about everything you need to build upgrade or wire. Check them out you will like them as well, shout out to the tech I worked with set me straight and got my PC up and running in a flash.

Ah, the classic tale of the mystical man and the magical desk! I must say, I've never encountered such an enchanting shopping experience before. So here goes my belated review:

I must admit, I have frequented this store on numerous occasions, but this time, I brought along a friend in pursuit of the legendary GPU. Little did I know, my adventure would take an unexpected detour to the realm of desks!

As my friend embarked on his GPU quest, I found myself drawn to the desk section, like a moth to a fluorescent office light. That's when it happened, folks. A mystical man, who stood at a staggering 5'11 (let's not quibble about that extra inch), materialized before my very eyes. It was as if he had descended from the heavens of ergonomic furniture to grace me with his wisdom.

He wove a tapestry of desk-related promises that would make Shakespeare himself blush. This desk, he claimed, would transform me into a productivity powerhouse. It would be the answer to all my cluttered prayers, he assured me. And the price? Well, it was nothing short of a bargain from the land of unicorns and leprechauns.

But here's where our story takes a twist, my dear readers. As I reached for my wallet, anticipating a transaction so smooth it would make a swan gliding across a serene lake look clumsy, reality struck. The price on the receipt was not the same as the mystical man's whispered promise. It was a shocking $10 more!

Undeterred, I fixed my gaze upon him, and a silent battle of wills ensued. Our eyes locked in a fierce showdown, and I resolved to maintain eye contact until justice was served. Was it a test of my determination? A secret rite of passage into the brotherhood of desk connoisseurs? Or perhaps just a surreal standoff between a man and his office dreams?

In the end, dear friends, I emerged victorious, having secured my mystical desk at the promised price. As I left the store, I couldn't help but wonder if that mystical man was, in fact, the spirit of the desk itself, testing my commitment to ergonomic excellence. Whatever the case may be, I now sit at my magical desk, typing this review with newfound vigor, and a twinkle of triumph in my eye.

The best tech customer service I have ever encountered. Went to them for a system not POST-ing, and, (because the issue was me being incompetent and not having the RAM all the way in), helped me within a few minutes FREE OF CHARGE.

If you have any hardware issues this place is hands down the best in San Antonio.

Knowledgeable staff. Very helpful. They don't ever "hard sell" anything so you can relax. Stock includes a wide array of products, cables and cords, adapters, batteries, and much more. Tony, tech support/repair person is very good, reasonable cost, and unusually meticulous and thorough.

This was my second time there and the customer service was above and beyond both times.

The first time my dad and I went there because he wanted to save his 10+ years old laptop, and everyone told him it would be cheaper and/or better to buy a new computer. Nobody listened to what HE wanted. But Altex did, and for way less than the price of a new laptop.

The second time I was with my dad again. He liked the store so much he wanted to check if they had some hard to find audio adapters there. This place is big, and the amount of stuff they have on hand is amazing. Plus if they don't have it, they'll try to order it for you. The adapters he wanted right there in the clearly labeled audio adapters and cords section.

This time it was me who needed the customer service. I had this obscure question regarding my computer, our modem/router, and a piece of equipment I wanted to use with both. Had no idea how to phrase it, but the rep picked up on what I was trying to say and got me the stuff I needed. Then he explained step-by-step what to do with it.

Awesome place. Felt like I was in tech heaven when I was there. And they do military discounts, so that's a bonus.

This place is fantastic for repairs. I had a faulty wire for a plc system, and they repaired it the same day, and it looked factory new when I came to pick it up. Worth the money.

Needed some cables they will show you everything in-stock any questions you may have they will give excellent advice

I have been going to Altex for my computer parts and needs for longer than 10+ years. I am just now writing this review because I felt like it was time especially after yet again another great experience.

It doesn't matter if you have no computer experience or if you have a mild understanding much like me. The staff will go above and beyond to help you.

I had gone in for a simple exchange for a converter and met David. I had a question about taking my gaming PC to streaming services.

David had gone above and beyond showing me the different parts from budget affordable to top of the line price differences. He explained the benefits and the negatives for each.

If you are not accustomed to installing your own parts. Fear not! They have installation services there also.

All I know is at the end of the day I always leave feeling like I learned more about my computer then I previously did. Which is a breath of fresh air.

I will be back soon for a nice computer upgrade when my tax return comes in.

I was needing a specific wire connection to add a second monitor for my work computer. My brother told me to go to Altex and he was more than sure they would have what I needed. He was right, I called and Joseph helped me out. Once I arrived he already had the wire ready behind the desk. He was very knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. I will definitely be going back to purchase a chair that felt like heaven! WFH you need something of comfort and quality and Altex has it!

Everything was well organized and accessible. The associates were friendly and helpful. A great place for your electronic needs.

Joseph H. is the greatest! He helped me get my computer back working after it had been out of commission for more than 3 months! I need my computer for school and had only bought it a year ago. I am so happy he is the person who greeted my upon entering the establishment. Altex, you have a great and very knowledgeable member on your team and I am so happy and blessed to have met him!

These guys are complete professionals. They know what they're talking about, and what's real great is that they don't try to upsell you. They are honest about how much an upgrade will affect you, and let you make the decision. I've never felt pressured to buy the most expensive options out there. They are very customer focused, and they do the right thing even if it's not to their benefit. Always recommend this place to anyone that has computer needs, and the only place I'll buy computer equipment from.

Wish I could give more stars. The staff went above and beyond for me. I bought a prebuilt and 4 days later had an issue. They took it right away and got it up and running. They're also some of the nicest people I've come across in a computer store. When I 1st came in I was greeted and helped right away and each time they carried my items to my car for me since I was carrying my baby. Thank you altex, you got a customer for life. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best place ever when shipping for specialty tool for computer and electronics staff is super helpful and the store is pretty big I enjoyed my time there
