I have had the pleasure of visiting 847RC several times over the past month or so and I had to share what a special place the team over there have curated. When I first began my running journey in 2008 there were only proper running stores in Downtown Chicago where I could get a proper fitting for my stride. Those days are so long gone thanks to 847RC! 🏃🏽‍♀

Now, I can simply call upon my friends down the street at 847 to help me feel my best while I pound the pavement. I know exactly where to go when I need to get fitted, vent about my tight IT bands, stock up on goo gels, and be a part of a running community that truly treats me like family every time I walk (or run 😇) in the door. Not to mention, they carry all the high-performing gear brands at friendly prices for those of us who know that what you wear and how you feel on your runs make all the difference!

Love, love, love everything about 847 Running Company. They have great finds, always a great fitting for our shoes. My kids love the summer running camp. Can’t say enough good things about this family owned local small business.

The customer service is 847 Running company is absolutely top notch. Dustin helped my 11 yr old find the perfect shoes for her XC and later track season. We’ll absolutely be back and referring fellow runners to 847!

The wife and husband team that own/run the store is incredible. They’re very attentive to your needs and spent extra time with us to make sure we were happy with our choices. They are very knowledgeable about running shoes and cater to individualized needs. It’s next level customer service. We will definitely come back when it’s time to retire the shoes we purchased and highly recommend the store to others.

847 Running Company is one of my favorite stores for so many reasons. First, the owners Kal & Nicole are just awesome. I met them at the start of my running journey (almost 5 years ago!) and they have helped and supported me since. From finding the right shoes and gear to running advice and support. They are extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of a runners life.
Second, I absolutely love the merchandise that they carry. All of their clothing is high quality and I love that the selection changes regularly. They have shoes for all needs and are always bringing in new styles/brands and colors. I also love stopping in to see some of the cool accessories and products that they bring in - there is a great story behind a lot of these items.
Lastly, this is a family owned business that gives back to the community.
I highly recommend stopping in, checking them out and saying hello. They can help you find the right shoes for your needs, whether for running or not.

From out of town and came here based on Google reviews and they were spot on. The staff was fantastic. They watched me walk, looked at my current shoes and knew exactly why I wasn't happy with them. They told me what shoes would be better and why. I even got to try them out on the treadmill in store.
I highly suggest going here and getting fitted!

Yesterday (October 18, 2021) I was in need of running shoes. My shopping experience withe 847 Running Company was like no other. I called before I went to get information and Taylor was super helpful over the phone. It was easy for me to get there and parking is on the street, but for me it was easy for me to find parking.

I was greeted so well when I came in! I started to tell Taylor my concerns about my running (I am not the best at running at all). She hear ALL of my concerns and even had me demonstrate walking, jogging, and running, so she can better evaluate what type of shoes will best fit my needs! She definitely knew what she was talking about! She brought out 3 pair of shoes. I tried them out and we tested them out as well! She observed and gave her professional suggestions and I ended up with Asics GT-2000 9 Mako Blue/Gray Floss Running shoe.

She also gave me a tour if the store and showed me other products they had to offer around the store. They are military friendly! They offer 10% for military discount! This was one of the best shopping experiences I had in my entire life! I really appreciate 847 Running company for getting me exactly what I need! Highly recommended and I will definitely be back!

P.S. I gave them a test run last night and already shaved time off from my run! 10/10!

Stopped running during COVID (terrible idea) and recently decided to try and get back into the habit. It had been a while since I shopped for shoes and walked into 847 to a familiar face. I forgot her name (maybe Nicole) but she used to help me out at Runners Edge. She knows a ton about the technical aspects of running and shoes but she really seems to connect with running and runners on a more personal, maybe even spiritual level. She seemed genuinely excited to know that I was returning to running after a long hiatus and not because it provided her with a sale. They had a lot of great options in my size and we landed on a pair that was not the most expensive option but she thought would provide best support as I tried to build back up my mileage. Great selection of super comfortable Features socks as well. If I stick with it - and I really hope I do - this will be my new go to for running gear.

I tend to prefer shopping at local running stores and with my experiences at 847 over the last year I have not been disappointed. I go there for shoes, socks, fuel, just about any of my routine running gear. When my “go to shoe” changed and I couldn’t find a good replacement they were extremely knowledgeable in helping me understand the different options available. TWICE in the last year, the staff has fitted me with shoes that I would not have tried out on my own or found through online reviews. Both times the shoes that I ended up in were exactly what I needed. The staff was patient and spent time helping me, which I really appreciated. This is why I choose to go into the store instead of just reading a shoe review and buying online. Very knowledgeable about local races and the running community in general.

This is my new favorite running shoe store. The help I received to fit a new pair of shoes was incredible. I have tiny feet, narrow heels, and a wide toe box. It makes shopping in department stores horrible. I was fitted with quality shoes and the very same evening was able to run longer with less pain overall. They even introduced me to the Libertyville 5k which I am looking forward to! Thanks so much for your help.

My husband and I went to 847 Running Company today to buy new running shoes for me. I love this store. The staff was really helpful and friendly. We will be going back to get my husband new running shoes. The store was cute and carried original items along with nice running accessories and clothes.

I couldn’t recommend 847 Running Company more! I walked into the store with my partner for the first time in search of new running shoes and daily/work shoes. Nicole greeted us immediately and asked if she could be of any assistance. I took her up on her offer of a shoe fitting and foot evaluation. She assessed my gait while walking and jogging and looked at how my current, old shoes are wearing out. Her evaluation was thorough and comprehensible. Not to mention, she is extremely personable, conversational, sweet, and high energy. Nicole spent about an hour with us, making sure our concerns were addressed and that we tried on various options. Her knowledge of different shoes, their functions/features, and general foot anatomy was great. We didn’t feel pressured at all to buy at the moment as we would be at other stores. Ultimately, I ended up buying two shoes—a pair of Saucony shoes for running and a pair of Altra shoes for work—and I’m so excited to try them out! My partner ended up buying a new pair of shoes as well—Saucony, too! My partner and I felt wonderful knowing we are supporting a local business, and we will definitely be returning customers. I highly recommend 847 Running Company for their exceptional customer service (Thank you, Nicole!), shoe and apparel selection, prime location and atmosphere, and prices!

Highly recommend 847 Running Company. My husband was in need of new walking shoes and has a couple of unique fit requirements. Kal was knowledgeable, helpful, and spent a lot of time with us making sure my husband had the best shoe for his needs and activity level. His prices are reasonable and in line with the high quality of his shoes. Definitely will be back when we need shoes again.

This running store is great!! Do yourself a favor and check them out!!! I have gone to multiple big chain running stores and have never received the amazing customer service that Kal provided during my visit. He took the time to explain the different types of running shoes, each feature and how it helps with running, and even taught my friend and I how to properly tie and heel lock the laces for our runs. He had great insight and tips into fuel options for longer runs and the fact that he is also a runner makes his feedback even more valuable as he has many experiences he can relate to his customers.

All the best brands of athletic shoes are priced the same. What makes the difference is the service you get. Look no further as this establishment has knowledgeable staff that will honestly do their best to make sure that you get the best footwear for your personal needs. Owner is very knowledgeable and honest, shop local!!

I had excellent service from Nicole. She was very knowledgeable and asked all the right questions for getting the correct shoe for me. I've been to other stores for shoe fits and this was by far the best experience I have ever had. She took her time and I didn't feel rushed at all in trying out a variety of shoes and ultimately choosing the one that worked best for me.

This shop is great. I went in looking for a new pair of running shoes since the style I wore for several years just wasn’t working out anymore. I couldn’t have asked for better service than I got here- the guy who helped me listened to what I thought I liked and had me try on several pairs of shoes until we found something that felt good and addressed some hip and ankle issues I’m having. He also helped me lace them for my specific foot needs and referred me to some videos for hip strengthening exercises. I’ve run several times in my new shoes and love them. Would definitely go back to this shop!

I was diagnosed with early Osteoarthritis in my knees. No shoes have helped my feet or knees until I was introduced to Saucony Guide and ASICS GT 2000!! This shoe is incredible. Nicole and Kalan told me about the drop heel and had me try them. I honestly feel like it’s a miracle. Their recommendation fit me into a shoe that has taken all the pressure off my knees. My feet haven’t been tired and I am able to stand and walk over 15,000 steps a day (says my Fitbit) . Without their willingness to find me the perfect shoe I would still feel miserable after work. Thank you for CARING!

Wow! What an amazing experience. I’ve never been truly fitted for a really great pair of running shoes and my experience for my first time was outstanding. The customer service is through the roof and the selection is awesome! Taylor was so helpful, knowledgeable, and nice. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get some great running shoes and gear. I’m a novice runner, so you definitely don’t need to be a marathoner to enjoy what this store has to offer. Highly recommend.
