I'm relatively new to the new group of people here as I'm kind of a solitary kid when it comes to fly fishing. However, Roy and Lindsey helped me rig up a euro nymph rig and I went on a day trip with Gerry (never euro nymphed before, just regular indicator stuff or basic dries etc.)
They have done a lovely job inside the shop but most importantly the connection I've been able to establish with everyone here is invaluable. Highly recommend anyone pop in and grab a few of their flies and tippet at the very least and have a conversation or two, or check out the fly tying nights they host. Wish there was another store closer to me!
Sidenote: will only euro nymph when I fly fish from now on! Lol.

Fished the Ken Lockwood Gorge for the first time with little success in the morning, then visited this shop for some insight and flies. Great selection and gentleman threw in a couple free flies for me as well as some invaluable advice. Returned to the Gorge and killed it that evening on their recommended flies. Very grateful.

I absolutely love this shop. All of the workers are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Special shout-out to Abraham, Lindsey, Donny, and Conor. They are all a pleasure to work with. This store has come a long way in the last few weeks, and it is now my go to fly shop in our area. They have a large variety of rods, reels, waders, and fly tying materials. If they don’t have what you’re looking for, they always offer to order it for you, which is great. I can’t wait to see how this store continues to develop over the next few years.

This is a serious fly fisherman’s shop and a real gem! Great knowledge and experience, superior products and people who know how to listen. Last week I purchased two awesome euro nymphing setups that are game changers.

No hard sale, just friendly advise and a passion to make sure the customer walks out happy.

First time to this fly shop very nice shop with great quaulity products. Jim was very nice and helpful getting a good selection of hand tied nymphs. Not easy to find a store like this few and far between. It was well worth the hour drive and cant wait to go back. Thanks Jim you guys are awesome!

Great local fly shop. Jim, John and the other guys are very knowledgeable. They are always happy to answer questions about gear , fish or the local waterways. The “Jungle Cat” flies and guide services are the icing on the cake.

I am a beginner and have been to a few fly shops in upper NJ. The gentleman that helped me out at Shannon's fly shop was very kind and supportive. In addition to the handful of flies I purchased, he gave me a few free flies (rainbow warrior size 18) to use in the nearby rivers. I asked some newbie questions but he answered them like a true teacher without making me feel 'stupid'.

I will be going back and they have my business. Really nice and helpful people!

Excellent Customer Service. What I like about Shannon's is that the staff is very helpful when it comes to all things regarding fly fishing for NJ trout. They are easy going and won't try to sell you things that you don't need.

Shannon's also has a friendly community of loyal customers, many of who will share tips if you are in store the same time they are. I found their guide service to be reasonably priced, and their fly tying classes helpful with getting started in fly tying. They will teach you how to tie flies that catch fish and can't be bought online. With all the internet competition today, I am glad that a place like Shannon's is still in business.

I'm a beginner to fly fishing. This shop is great for beginners. I bought an equipment package here with rod, reel, waders, boots, vest and some flies. Since I'm a beginner I decided to do a half day one on one guided trip in the gorge. Tim is a great guide and teacher. He was very patient with me; I learned so much. Great outing! I highly recommend this shop!

Great fly shop! These guys know what they're doing and are very helpful with all their customers. They have everything you need at great prices. Anytime I'm in the area I stop in just to chat and listen about trout fishing!

It's been sometime since visiting my old stomping grounds, it's nice to see the only fly shop in western new jersey still surviving against the the big retailers. It's great place for m aterails and advice, and talent tyers, had to introduce my son's to the shop owner, James Holland, who still putts %110 percent effort since taking over years ago From Les Shannon.he would be happy that his shop is thriving and in good hands with both concern for conservation, and customer satisfaction.

Came in this morning looking for a fly suggestion before the heavy rain storm. A gentleman behind the counter suggested me one so I took it out immediately after with only 20 minutes to fish and caught two beautiful rainbows. Can’t thank him enough for his help and couldn’t be happier with my first experience at the shop.

I went there and the first thing I think of when I see this fly shop is, "this must not be a good source for fly fishing tackle, and knowledge", I was wrong. Shannon's Fly & Tackle Shop, was the best source for information, flies, fly tying materials, fly reels, fly rods, waders, and much more. By far the best fly shop I have ever been to.

Staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. They directed me rather effectively in choosing flies for my first trout fishing trip! Thanks so much guys!
