I have been a customer of Rainbow Music for many many years and is the first place I go to for my musical needs. I have purchased various guitars, amps and accessories with confidence and I always have received great service. Bill really knows guitars and music and I always enjoy having a conversation with him. Highly recommend.

Great store and owner. The collection and array of instruments is A+. I met Bill when I bought a Les Paul last year. Today he hooked me up with a modded effects pedal. He is astute and knowledgeable about all things guitar and business. Check out his social media pages on Facebook and IG and website for regular inventory additions, hours of operation and guitar show schedule(s). The new location in Bellefonte does not disappoint.

I was so happy to see that Rainbow didn't close, but had reopened over in Bellefonte. I was pleasantly surprised on the size of the space and the scale of the stock. He has a great mix from high end equipment, well priced mid range and entry level. But, also a nice array of quality used equipment. The owner is very knowledgeable and genuinely wants people to get the right equipment for a good deal. This is the place to actually try your equipment first instead of buying it online!

I’m surprised by the old, negative reviews. They do not reflect the experience I had- maybe things have really turned around with the reopening. I went to the newly opened store in Bellefonte and had a great experience. The proprietor has done a great job of converting the space into a cool music shop. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection of guitars, amps, and accessories for a small business that had closed due to the pandemic. I thought things were reasonably priced and received great service from the owner. Well worth a visit for the serious musician looking to support local businesses.

One of the last remaining community, independently-owned music stores around this area. He carries new and used, top-of-the-line and affordable equipment. He's knowledgable about all the gear and is totally fair in pricing, trades and buying. He's a straight-shooter, which might put people off sometimes; however, he is honest and not condescending. Be fair and straight with him, he'll be fair and straight with you. One of the few places left you can go, put the gear in your hands and try it out, shoot the s&%t, and get a fair deal.

The new location in Bellefonte is very nice and worth the drive from State College. The selection is solid and there is a variety of guitars, amps and gear. I have no complaints about the service. It is good to see Rainbow Music back.

Wow, lots to see. The owner is very knowledgeable. He sells quality guitars, and the prices are good. My husband and step-son would live there, if they could. We've purchased 2 guitars so far. I see more in the future.

This time my experience at Rainbow Music was a whole lot different than it was half a year ago when I first visited the shop to buy guitar strings. First time around the staff completely ignored me and were not so friendly when I came to them asking about the strings. However, a few weeks ago I decided that it was time to upgrade to a better guitar and visited the shop again. The shop turned out to be under new management and the new staff turned out to be much more customer friendly. They let me try out numerous guitars until I found one that I liked while answering any questions that I had. At the time of the purchase I happened to be a few bucks short but they let me slide which was really nice of them.

I came in here looking for a beginner's guitar and the salesperson quickly referred me to the back of the store. He helped me package the guitar and suggested sturdy cases at a reasonable price. I strongly recommend this store if you're looking for a guitar at Penn State.

Bill is a great guy who knows his stuff when it comes to guitars. If I ever have a question about anything guitar-related, Bill has an answer. A great resource for helping you find the right guitar. The selection in the store is the best within 100 miles of state college, and he usually has a bunch of vintage/high end gear if that's what you're looking for. Highly recommended!

Excellent service I moved to the area 5 years ago walked in to rainbow music the first time and was treated with respect from day one as if I was a long time customer. It was a breath of fresh air to finally have a Gutair store with personal touch with experience and knowledge of what they are selling not a snot nose kid that has no clue about what they are selling. Bill the Owner has been incredibly helpful and goes out of his way to make me feel like I'm at home every time I enter the store. excellent customers service Best deals on quality equipment.

Don't go there often, but has been my go to if I needed something. Recently had a guitar fixed there. Very satisfied. Staff is great. Nice selection. Worth stopping in.

Today I found a perfect guitar at Rainbow Music. The owner, Bill, was incredibly helpful in sharing his wealth of music and instrument experience.

Over the past 10 years or so, much business has shifted from local music stores to larger corporate chains. I am very glad that I found a perfect guitar for me here in town where there is a much greater meaning and connection to the purchase.

Thank you Bill. This guitar is phenomenal! Although I still wish I hung on to my old Charvel Model 4, this USA made Jackson is what my Charvel always wanted to be!

I've had the opposite experience from other reviewers. The owner has vast expertise about guitars, the inventory is extensive and the teachers are excellent.

If you don't get waited on the moment you arrive,,duh,,Bill is with another customer. Bill, the owner, has spent alot of time with me selecting the right instruments for me. If he is with another customer, I have the patience to browse, and get attention when I need it. Wouldn't go anywhere else!

Got to give them 5 stars because all this negative BS is unwarranted by a store where sales people talks to you answering your questions authoritatively with experience (where the bad mouthing coming from those comparing them to online sales in what is unwarranted if they knew as customers what they are doing) in what can not be compared in that sense. Cheap is cheap not what is best just as expensive is not good.

We went in with a guitar I bought at a pawn shop and the owner bill was super helpful with it cuz the guitar may look like it's in good shape but it is not he saved my guitar Rainbow music is the best and super awesome customer service and has a great selection of guitars and equipment!!!
