Chestnut Oaks Farm Store and Kitchen

Everything here was 5 stars. We happen to stop by here a day they were having a car show. Plenty of seating inside and out. Nice, quiet farm atmosphere. Eat lunch watching the cows on the farm after a nice hike and at near by state park. All food looked great and had a great selection of ice cream. They also sell several desserts and homemade breads from locals.

It was my first time going to this restaurant / store. The cheeseburger was amazing with how big it was and how the smoked flavor really enhanced it. The fries were good and the fried pickles as well. The helping size of this meal was really more than what one person could eat (amazing).

They have a 2nd floor to eat at, but we choose the large open back area of the restaurant that has large windows showing the pleasant farm land. We also had their own ice cream as well and it was worth it.

Can’t wait to go there again.

Variety of sandwiches, sides, baked potatoes and salad. I had a baked potato with baked beans on it; my husband had his with the brisket. Both were yummy. They also have ice cream if you have any room left; the potatoes are large. We will be back.

Delicious food! My favorites are the pulled pork sandwich meal and the chicken melt meal. This restaurant and store are so unique. The ice cream, deserts and other dairy products are wonderful. The staff is always so nice and they keep this business so clean.

Made me feel like I was at 🏡 home,great atmosphere and food.. See for yourself you will be glad you visited... Hand dipped ice cream, and treats. I love cow patties,also known as drop cookies.I recommend that you look around the gift shop. I guess you are tired of hearing me

Unassuming exterior but super friendly folks serving up one of the better brisket sandwiches I’ve had. Sign said they smoke their own meats. Fountain drinks. Cozy dining area. Very good local dairy products—milk, cheese, and ice cream. Perfect stop after hiking at Burgess.

Great variety of freshly-prepared sandwiches and grilled items; hand-dipped ice cream, plus carton-packed ice cream in the freezer. Nice selection of frozen, grass-fed beef products from the farm offered in the freezer. Cheeses and fresh sourdough artisan breads available at very reasonable prices. Fun assortment of local crafts are merchandised in the front of the store. A huge enclosed eating area with fireplace has been added, with ample wood tables and seating in back. Lots to browse, and the staff is very friendly. Great place for meeting events within a beautiful country setting.

We weren't sure where to eat after hiking Burgess Falls, but turning out of the park, we saw this place. We thought we would check it out because they had outdoor seating and we had our dog with us. We got a burger, Patty melt, and grilled cheese with several sides to try out. Everything was really good. They also had options for some local meats, milks, cheese, ice cream, and some other local goods. It was a great place to grab a quick bite, cute little store on the inside, and don't forget the gooey butter cake/chess pie. It was delicious.

Stopped here along the way from Burgess Falls. I enjoyed a delicious fried bologna sandwich. Everyone else in the family enjoyed their food as well.

This is a hidden gem of a restaurant! Wonderful country setting, well built and clean! The food was super delicious and at a fair price! I had the pulled pork sandwich on our first visit, it was on a large hamburger bun and stuffed full of tasty, juicy, perfectly smoked pork! On our second visit I tried the grilled chicken salad. It had a lot of delicious chicken in it. We will make this a "must go to" spot for folks that visit us here!
Addition to review: Now we have made this our favorite restaurant in the Cookeville area! We have been there many more times and everything is delicious! Our neighbors say they like that you don't have to fight the crazy traffic in town to get there. Every out of town visitor we take there love it too!

The place is beautiful. It was a rainy day outside so nobody was there, but we liked the food. It was nice to have a slow lunch while it was raining outside. I’d give the food a 7/10 but the scenery a 10/10.

I stopped in between showing appointments in Sparta and I'm sure glad I did! Such a cute place with a variety of things to purchase as gifts while you grab some lunch and ice cream! I will definitely be making this a regular stop while I'm out selling real estate!

We found this going to Rock Island State Park and Burgess Falls. Loved the food, and the ladies that work there are all so nice and friendly. Went back a couple of wks later and it was a must to stop in again. Great atmosphere, little gifts to buy made locally, they sell local cheese, beef from their farm. All around great place. Stop in, you will not regret it.

This is a very clean restaurant and store. Employees were super friendly. Food was awesome and not overpriced. We ate the loaded potatoes and the brisket sandwiches. We hiked Burgess Falls and then had the pleasure of eating here. We will visit again.

Awesome experience. I didn't eat here but bought some of their bread. Their little gift shop is amazing! I purchased several items, including some gorgeous hand-made jewelry. Be sure to check it out!

Loved this place, very charming and quaint. We had the pulled pork sandwich with fries, loved the smoked flavor, delicious 😋 will definitely be coming back again, very friendly staff and pet friendly.

Got to enjoy a brisket sandwich from them. It was on good soft bread, the brisket was tender, plenty of meat, tasty, and perfectly smoked. Definitely check this little local gem out!

Had a smoked cheese burger 🍔 😋. French fries 🍟. Wifey had brisket. Food was excellent. I was a pit master for 7 years and the food was very good 👍. Glad we stopped.

This place is adorable and the ice cream is yummy! We purchased some locally made cheese and craft items. The fresh veggies looked great. The menu looked delicious, so we will be back to eat soon.

The bbq and staff were amazing. We had a wonderful lunch on a Saturday, chose to eat outside on one of their many available picnic tables. Under a nice shade tree we enjoyed some great brisket and pulled pork! Everything was hot and super fresh, we will definitely be back to try the ice cream next time! Awesome location located right next to Burgess Falls State Park!
