Roche Bros. Downtown Crossing

This is a great place. The cupcakes are just a little over baked but overall the food they make is really great. Takes a bit to move around the store but overall once you get through the crowd things are easy to navigate.

Simply incredible architecture and decoration on the facade that I'm sure 99% of people passing miss. I was waiting for " The Boss" outside Macy's and had time to actually look around and notice this wonderful building. Never got to go in unfortunately. Lol.

Nice small clean store. Prices seem higher for some or most items than competitors at least at this downtown location, and doesn't seem to have any (?) buy one get one free on potato chips and such like competitors do a times...but I still like this location.

I lived near this grocery store for like 2 years before I realized there was a full on basement grocery store. Good selection for its location. Little pricey compared to your typical Trader Joes but you can't beat the location

Once you can find the place as I was visiting from out of state, (its in the basement) it was great. But seriously, I have never been to a supermarket where they had more security dressed in black hsn actual employees dressed in red that will follow your every move. It's like big government watching u. I was in law enforcement 15 years and it's obvious the amateurs with walkie talkies are following you as I looked like an outsider. Lol just really weird!
And I had minimal food items in my cart, look at my cart! Milk and chilli, lol. Is that how Boston is? I guess it keeps out the homeless!

This well-stocked grocery store occupies what was once Filenes basement department store...a place where Filenes department store closeout bargains were LITERALLY fought over by bargain hunting mamas. Alas, in the day of Amazon such colorful sights are no longer to be seen.

Best grocery store in Boston. If you need it, they've got it. I was thinking about licorice and I turned a corner and there it was. An entire wall displaying licorice from Australia!! OMG...

Lots of variety, store is smaller than a grocery store in a more rural area but big enough and stocked efficiently to where I find almost anything I need. Given that it's right in the center of downtown Boston it's awesome you can get in and out in a reasonable amount of time

Great variety good supermarket. For business visitors that need to stock up their apartment for a week, this is the place to browse. From fresh sushi to a wide array of cereal, or bread and fresh fruit the variety is huge.

Cleaner than I expected. Don't know why I thought it was going to be a dungeon with snacks. It's not. It's not a dungeon. But they have snacks. I shall be back.

One of my favorite stores! Great ready made food. Open on the 4th. Outstanding staff! Surprisingly reasonable prices for its location.

Pristine store - workers take pride in the store. Everything is neat and clean and nicely displayed. Meat and produce looks fresh. Prices are fair.

Roche Bros is a really good foodstore. They have everything in there, they have groceries and they also have cooked food in there that is delicious. They also have deserts that are out of this world. They have microwaves so you can hwat up food and eat there for your lunch break. Roche Bros is very convenient if you need to grocery shop, or you want to order out. You have all of this in one, so I give them a 5star.

Nice and clean store. Somethings are cheaper than others places. By the way they have a huge beer& wine selection. A huge cheese selection. You need lunch they have a small food court. Soups, salads, and other great meal packages. Down in the basement get a fresh cold sub.
Oh yeah. They treat people with disabilities with a lot of respect and dignity.

I like coming here to pick up a few things, but always leave with more! Upstairs is a buffet style take out of yummy foods, and salad bar, downstairs is a full grocery store. All the necessary staples for whatever I need are conveniently here. Head of lettuce, check! Muffins, yup, and all kinds of bakery items, for sure! There’s a deli, cheese shop, and produce section, as well as dry goods and frozen foods. The staff are very attentive and nice, which also helps the experience. Whenever we come downtown, we stop in!

The upstairs(ground floor) offers reasonably priced alternatives to take out. This includes a breakfast buffet, lunch options, and other options. Of course if you need groceries the downstairs is one of the best grocery stores I've been in with many different specialty departments and great selection of products from all over the world.

Great little stop to get what you need for dinner. The meat and produce are amazing quality. If you don't feel like cooking they have already prepared meals including some hot items. Some of the prices can be high, but the quality will always be great.

This is the best supermarket experience I have ever had in Boston. It is a two level store with the underground level conveniently located a few steps from the entrance to the orange line of the Boston subway system. On the basement or train level they have a comfortable (rather large) shopping space with a very clean and orderly diaplay system.The deli, meat/poultry and fish counters are so inviting to the eye. Their salad shop is so plentiful with great variety and they are delicious. Due to a good number of cashiers and with a single line system, checking out is a simple and quick process.. Prices are a little higher than other stores but the quality of merchandise and experience are higher and definitely worth itl. I give it 5 stars..
