SoCal Magic

I've been a loyal customer for this store for 6 years now. The couple that run its have such deep passion for Magic the Gathering and it shows. They make bigger on occasion, but what couple doesn't? They always make up, and they always compliment each other.

There's always a variety of events running, from competitive Commander on Friday nights with one table set aside for the casual Commander players, to sealed drafts and the "pass the trash" three booster pack limited drafts.

They're also a few different nights where Dungeons & Dragons is played, Fifth Edition.

This is a trade friendly crowd, so bring your binders and boxes of extra cards to trade with other or to trade into the store for store.

SoCal Magic is one of the better stores in Orange County for your MTG needs. On large tournament days the shop utilizes the extra rooms at the complex to flex their capacity. The owner Paul was very welcoming. Definetly worth checking out if you are a Magic player!

I went in a total MTG newcomer to see if there were any folks playing that would want to teach me. There were at least 10 people there on this Sunday and all of them were super friendly. Even got to play/learn Commander using a deck another player let me borrow.
I was nervous to go in alone and didn't know what to expect, but the owners and other players welcomed me right in. I will definitely be coming back to learn and spend $$ here when it comes time to throw down on deck building :D

Everyone I met was very nice. The owner was incredibly helpful. I walked away with some cool cards for great prices.

It's a really nice place to just go and play magic the gathering. The people there are always up for a challenge, and they can deliver. If you are a novice magic player, they are more than willing to show you the ropes. Overall a great place.

Very friendly staff and plenty of tables to play at. Plenty of MTG singles and packs to choose from and the prices are pretty good too.

A fun little shop that plays magic the gathering events, great for meeting and playing with new people and the events are ran cleanly. Prices on card singles are par for other shops if not more fair. Their supplies are the correct price and very well stocked. Overall a solid experience for anyone looking to be involved with the Magic the gathering community or the tabletop gaming community period

I've been coming here since 2012 but I didn't leave a review yet. Everyone here is really nice and easy to talk to. Everyone is knowledgeable about Magic and will happily get you into the game if you haven't played it before.

Always a fun adventure to come here. New mats and display items to look at each time we go. Always a good sight to watch mtg games played in a friendly environment! Plus! My kids love coming here to see what they can add to their decks!!

Socal Magic is a wonderful Magic store and play-space, Paul and Penny have a great operation going on that truly accommodates the casual and competitive Magic players, with the store itself acting as a hub for walk-in commander games, trading, and picking up a nice pack or single when you have spare cash. You never hear the nearby road, parking is close and safe, and there's even a nearby donut shop incase you need a snack. Prepare to make many new friends and discover your new favorite hobby!

A great Magic shop. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They know Magic like the back of their hands. They host Friday Night Games for Magic The Gathering every Friday. They also have a little candy selection in case you get hungry while you're here. Parking can be a bit of an issue at times though.

This place used to be a small, comfortable little Magic store. Now, it's an incredible, expansive hub for all things Magic in Orange County! Every format you can think of is played here on a regular basis. Great for vets of the game and n00bs alike, the atmosphere is is the most inviting I've ever been to (even my wife, an honest-to-God female, likes coming here). Their pricing is competitive for a LGS and they have a good stock of Standard and Modern staples. Additionally, they are very friendly to gamers of all kinds, offering plenty of board games for anyone to enjoy, free of charge. If you're looking for a new store to play at, just want to get into the tournament scene or are just curious about the game, I HIGHLY recommend stopping bye for a chat with Paul (the owner). He can (and will) talk Magic with anyone and always makes you feel welcomed. A+++++++++++++++++!!!!!!!

Came in to donate some cards and both people up at the front were pretty chill, the lady offered me some chips so that was dope. Really good prices on cards loved the look of the place too. 10/10 would come back.

I have always loved this magic shop. The staff are so friendly and I never feel strange walking into the shop. Other shops I have gone to made my sister and I feel unwelcomed but this place always greets us. My sister and I havent been here in at least 2-3 years and right when we walked in we were greeted with "wow long time no see! How are you girls doing? Still living in the High Desert?" Their prices are always fair and you can tell that they love what they do. This is by far my favorite shop in all of California. Wish I lived closer,but still make the hour+ drive just to come here. 💖💖💖

Friendly staff, an expansive singles selection, more bulk than you can shake a stick at and an incredibly large selection of sealed product going back to Mirrodin and beyond! Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area. CASH ONLY!

I go here for Magic. It is open most days of the week. It is closed on Tuesdays. I usually am playing or buying cards. They have a huge selection of cards to buy from. You can call and ask if they have certain cards and it can placed on hold for you. The place operates cash only. The card are usually $0.25 and up. They sell some food if you get hungry while you are in a tournament. They have draft, commander and standard tournaments; sometimes it happens only on some days or there are not enough people, so it might be best to call in advance. The players are always changing, but some of the reoccurring players can be a bit more competitive than others.
I know that at this location there are Yu-gi-oh events and Dungeons and Dragons. I do not think the people at this shop do either of those, but there is adjacent shops within the same area.
There are bathrooms available. The women's restroom is always locked, so you need to ask for the key. It's a nice place. The workers are very nice and accommodating.

Great store, Paul is always friendly and helpful. Large selection of products, from sealed to singles. Awesome prize support for tournaments as well. Best store to play MTG at that I have seen yet.

Was in town on pre-release weekend (Gatecrash) and they were super accommodating to allow us to play in their pre-release. Really nice staff and awesome customers, a fun gaming experience, great relaxed atmosphere. Really well organized and well run tournament. Pricing of singles was inline with everywhere else and had one of the biggest selections I have ever seen.

Has just about everything magic you would need. Went for my first time a week or two ago and it was great. There were even people playing magic out front! Great atmosphere. Only con is that it is a little hard to spot if its your first time going there.
