A nice general store! They have mostly everything— bait, groceries, gas. The workers were nice and offer fishing recommendations. They have free maps that are nice, or more detailed fishing orientated maps you can purchase. Also have some sweet merch.

The new owners are super friendly! The store is stocked with baits, beer, food, and other little things you might need! My husband was excited to add his name to the catch/release fishing board! He caught his first legal size musky on Spider Lake!

Good people. Decent prices. Quality live bait. They've got a decent amount of lures. They've also got a good enough selection of food to hold you over for awhile. Obviously more expensive than Walmart but saves you from having to drive all the way to town.

The Happy Hooker is part of our Hayward tradition. It's unbelievable how they manage to have an "everything" store in such a small, tidy location. Need a fishing license? Milk? Bait? Scented candles, newspapers, limes, beer or replacement bulbs for your boat? No worries. They have it.

Great source for local fishing information. They have good stock as well. Just up the road from the Spider chain of lakes, East of Hayward WI.

I came down here to go to a cabin with my family and stopped here, I loved my experience, just the atmosphere of the place can bring anyone together.

We have been coming up to Spider Lake area for 30 years or more because my wife's parents have a home on Little Spider Lake. We always get out bait and lures here plus snacks etc.
