I was only pumping gas and never went inside but it's probably the nicest gas station inside.

A wonderful community oriented gas station! Great staff, clean store, and owner actively donates proceeds of fuel and store sales to benefit students in the local school Palmyra-Eagle school district!

My card would not read, and the nice man inside came out and was able to get the card scanned. Thank you.

Nicest station in town, subway attached to it, coolers could be colder though.

I just had a terrible experience with this place. I was looking at a display rack that sold all sorts of odds and ends, including batteries. I had been standing there for a few minutes, browsing quietly, keeping to myself, when the female attendant (who was not wearing a nameplate, and would not give me her name) called out across the room and in a very rude, negative, and clipped tone said "if you're looking for some kind of fancy battery, I can guarantee you, we don't have it." To which I replied, "I'm just browsing."
When I finished browsing, and had selected a few items for purchase, I took them up to the counter, and set them next to the register. She started scanning all the items, and was huffing and puffing for some reason which wasn't clear to me. While she was scanning I asked her if I could please get some cigarettes. She barked out "which ones" and when I told her I wanted green Marlboro 72's, workout even turning around to look, she snapped "we don't sell those!" Meanwhile, I'm standing there looking at the Green Marlboro 72's on the top shelf. So I said "I believe those are them on the top shelf there." Big mistake on my part apparently... She sighs, and rolls her eyes so hard that she must have seen the inside of her own skull for a second, turns around in a fury, and without taking even three seconds to look, barks out "WHERE?" So, then (and keep in mind that through all of this, I never lost my composure, or snapped back, or did anything rude in return, my Mom always said to kill people with kindness, that it will get under their skin more than sinking to their level in any situation, and I believe she's right about that....) I direct her to where the cigarettes are. She snatches up one of the packs, and practically THROWS them at me, and says with this big, fake smile "will there be anything else for you today, sir?" I told I now had everything that I came in for. So, the process of getting my items scanned, and running my debit card was more of the same. Lots of huffing and puffing, eye rolling, sighing, etc.
I don't know what was wrong with this lady. I don't know if I inadvertently did something to upset her, or if she was just having a bad day, or what. The employee in question is a lady who looks to be between 48 and 58 years in age. Very average in height, slightly heavier in build. Had shoulder length salt and pepper hair, some of which was tied up in the back. And she's in there working all the time. She's never gone out of her way to be friendly with me, but this is the first time she was practically falling all over herself to be rude to me. I'm always polite and courteous to anyone doing service work like that, so I can't imagine that anything I did on a previous visit would have upset her so much. I'm stumped.
During the drive home, I decided that, upon getting into my house, I was going to phone the BP, and inquire as to whom the owner is. After going through several numbers I found online and getting error messages about them beyond disconnected or no longer in service, I called the Subway attached to the BP, and asked them for the number. So, I dialed the number I got, and after two rings, someone picked up, left the line open for a few seconds without saying anything, then hung up. I know someone picked up, because I could HEAR the gas station and Subway in the background. I thought maybe it was a one-off, so I dialed again. Same thing. Someone picked up, didn't say anything, then hung up. It was almost like someone knew I was calling to ask the name of the owner, and to find out when this person would be available to speak to me.
All in all, this was a truly terrible experience. I wish I had captured the whole thing on video to be able to show. My words alone don't do justice to how awful this employee behaved. She was seriously acting like a bratty 12 year old girl. It was really very shameful. My only hope is that she reads this review and takes it to heart, and cleans up her act. This was easily one of the worst experiences with poor customer service that I have ever seen.
