Food Giant in Slocomb has to be the BEST local grocery store within 100 miles. The manager, Phil Wood, will stop at nothing to ensure you’ve had a pleasant shopping experience. Smitty, the assistant manager always has a story and a great attitude to make everyone feel welcome. When you shop at the Food Giant in Slocomb, you’re shopping with friends. Don’t believe me? Stop in and ask for either Phil or Smitty. They will stop at nothing to help everyone!

I travel from a surrounding city to shop here. I really appreciate how clean, organized and well stocked you guys keep your store. Your deli department is great as well as the women who work there. Produce is beautifully displayed and your cashiers are friendly and fast. Even the parking lot is well kept.

The food counter in this store is AWESOME. GREAT COOKS. Whatever you're craving at lunch is probably ready and waiting. Staff is nice and the store is owned by it's employees, which translates to NO lazy people working. You may have a little line to stand in, but it moves quick and is well worth the wait.

Very good place to shop

My quest for a really good lemon pie was met today and they were on sale! Got two!

Extremely nice place to go to buy groceries! It says that it is employee owned and this translates to the cleanest, most well stocked, and friendliest grocery store that I have experienced in a long time; most likely ever!!
My wife and I were really glad that we stopped in!

There customer service went above an beyond and other grocery store I've EVER went to. It was a very laid back I was able to actually enjoy grocery shopping with my 4 year old an 4 month old!!! I will definitely be grocery shopping here more often!! Prices where great also!

The Food Giant deli has awesome food for a great price! $9.98 for 16 piece mixed fried chicken! All of the employees were courteous and the store was very well maintained in every aspect. It was clean as well as very well stocked. You're always greeted as you come into the door and thanked whenever you begin to leave. All of the prices are pretty decent too. I love that the sign our front says it's "100% Employee Owned". I honestly think that makes all the difference! I'll definitely stop back in whenever I go back to Slocomb!

All three of my kids have worked at food giant. And i have enjoyed having this store in our community for several years. Oh and i worked there part time a long while back. Great store. Great ,kind , and smart staff.

It would be great if the teenagers running the registers would learn to pay attention to the person in front of them, instead of their friends behind them.

Piggly wiggly of Hartford was great place to work when I was In high school my Mang we was Phil Wood and he is still a great manager for Slocomb food grant

My favorite place to grocery shop always a good deal always a sale on, weekly specials every week holiday specials every holiday. The meat man will cut you any slice of meat you want need or desire to have! Very Clean store very clean restrooms very neatly organized shelves and the shelves are always stocked plus if you can't find what you are looking for a friendly staff member will show you yes show you walk with you and help you look! Produce section is awesomeness fully stocked and again sales weekly specials daily even (Wednesday to be honest) fresh fruits and vegetables always out not ever out of stock! My favorite local to Slocomb grocery store and they have an in house deli also an in store food shack and they have good good tasty delicious food! Stop in and get your grocery shopping done for the week or for the month or just a bite to eat for supper they have it all and it is affordable meets budget friendly needs!

Meat department, makes it worth the visit, the checkout needs work,some of the people checking you out appear unfriendly. I ordered breakfast, picked up a few cuts of meat ,other products are priced high as well as produce. A lot of it starts to go bad before they really drop the price.

I like this store. It's well appointed and graciously stocked. I can find some items here that I can't at my local Food Giant, also known as Piggly Wiggly. The produce seems fresher at this location. I don't know what the difference is because both stores are selling the same thing! I can buy salad mix at Piggly wiggly in Geneva and it won't last until the fresh by date on the package. But I can get the same salad mix at the Food Giant in Slocomb and it will stay fresh and crisp. This location is easy to get to, plenty of free parking. The staff is so helpful and friendly. Especially the checkout clerks at the front. I really enjoy shopping here. The store manager must be doing a great job. It's always clean and fully stocked.

Really great service. They tend to hire the right young people.
