Johnston's catered our two-day wedding weekend events, with a plated dinner on Friday night and BBQ spread Saturday afternoon. The food was absolutely delicious, and Tracy and her crew provided seamless service. Coordination of the event was easy and the results were outstanding. Our guests commented over and over that this was the best "wedding food" they had ever eaten. 5 stars for sure!

The best butcher shop I’ve even purchased from. Live cattle comes in through the back of the process plant. 21 days later dry aged meat ends up in a display case. Best Ribeye ever!
Sausages are to die for. They even have freshly made donuts daily. Finally if you like bacon they will custom slice it for you as you wait.

This place is a classic must go to. Friendly service great food and prices.
It is well patronized and you'll find lots of gift choices.
The sausage is amazing. Hoop cheese, pickled eggs, bone-in pork chops, chicken thighs and pig tail are all great.
It's an enjoyable motorcycle ride from Tally and if you don't get a homemade donut . . . you're off my Christmas Card list!

The owner Hal Bennett and his staff are awesome. With great quality cuts of USDA aged Angus beef and tasty smoked sausage, this Old fashioned meat market is worth the drive. If it's your 1st time visiting, You'll enter as strangers, but you'll leave as friends

So worth the 2 hour drive from Mossy Head/Defuniak Springs area. Best pork shoulder steaks we have ever had. Love the Beef Chuck Roast, it melts in your mouth when pressure cooked!!!! And the hamburger is to die for.

Customer service is top notch. They even filled our cooler with ice for free for our 2 hour drive home. We will always buy from here from now on. A customer for life.

The beef tip and pork sandwich was great! We also ordered ribs to take home and they were amazing! Almost forget..the sides tasted great too! Great customer service too!

Awesome experience from the customer service to the prices to my dinner table. Kids are eating hamburgers at home and don't even ask for McDonald's anymore.

My go to place for meat processing. The holding pens are clean and easy to back into for unloading animals. Jeff is top notch to deal with and helps with cut selection. Meat packaging is well done in vacuum sealed clear packaging and labeled appropriately.

They moved the restaurant back to the market. Great idea! Had lunch there today 5/24/23. BQ Chicken, BQ ribs, corn bread, 2 sides and ice tea. All was delicious and southern friendly service.

Great service. There was no stew meat in the case today and the young man behind the counter immediately followed up with I can cut you some in just a few seconds. He did. Vacuum sealed it and completed our order. Of course the quality is always top notch.

Went in for a hanger steak and short ribs as these are hard to find in supermarkets. Called ahead, they said no problem. Busy day for them but they custom cut my order. I expected the hanger steak to be whole and require some work on my part as the price was very reasonable. Just prepping for dinner, and nope, they did all the work. These guys are pros, and very nice to boot. Great experience.

Best donuts I have tried in a very long time...better than any bakery around! Great smoked sausage variety too! Service with a smile! I highly recommend this place. My favorite is the oreo cookie donuts, but get there early they run out quick! I will definitely be back!

I've enjoyed everything I got here. Try the brown sugar sausage, it's awesome.

Edit: I still stop in there every time I'm in Monticello for work, the sausages are still all fantastic, their steaks are amazing, those NY strips are the bomb! They also have some really great locally made ice cream in the freezer, that stuff is also superb, with some cool and unusual flavors. I recommend it to colleagues every time we go out there, if you're nearby you've got to check it out.

Impeccable service and great hospitality. I was born and raised in this area. I live in Tampa. When it comes to fresh meat, I stock up and buy from this store only (fresh sausages, bacon, liver wurst, hog head cheese,etc.)

First time shoppin. We purchased 1/2 pound bacon skin on, 2 mild breakfast sausages pork, and 2 mild beef sausages. Oh, and one T-Bone steak, bone in. I cooked come of the bacon and each type sausage with scrambked eggs with cheese and cheese grits for Sunday morning breakfast. Delicious!!! Flavor. I will cook that steak for Sunday Dinner. YUMMM.....

Stopped in tonight right before closing. Staff took the time to make sure we were well taken care of. Beautiful meats, great service and at a reasonable price.

Most excellent country store and smokery. Did not get to try the BBQ, but is smelled amazing. Their sausage selection is pretty wide. Also their other meat cuts looked really great. Their cane syrup is killer.

My wife took a day trip to Johnston,'s today, did a quick walk through, went into the restaurant, got some of the best pork ribs I have ever eaten, capped off lunch with a great apple fritter with some nice pieces of apple in it. Went back in market afterward and bought some sausage links and some frozen vegetables to bring home along with a few fritters and dough nuts to bring home also. Prices very reasonable according to what most all buisnessses charge now days! We will do another day trip soon!

Hands down they make the BEST donuts in the tricounty area. The apple fritters are AMAZING. Meats are ALWAYS fresh. You can REALLY tell a difference between their meats and the meats you get from grocery chain stores. You can tell they take pride in everything they do there, and I think that's what makes the difference. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! Wish I could give more than 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Friendly service and competitive pricing to supermarkets but everything is raised locally. They also serve fantastic food and donuts if you're not simply looking for butchered meats. Only down side is they don't usually stock turkey however their beef,pork, and chicken are always in stock and very fresh!
