Hi Audey ! I purchased my country boy #1126 back in 2016 and am sitting here now thinking about what an amazing and valuable investment this has been ! It almost seems to grow more melodious with deeper richer tones as time goes by. The fact that it is not cluttered by additional ornamental , flashy frills i feel actually adds to it's simplistic elegant tones. The vibration of strings resonate from the expertly carved tonewood with the most soul soothing sounds. Your 40yrs of mandolin building experience is certainly demonstrated by the superior quality and playability of your instruments

Audey Ratliff is a world class builder, and employs old-world craftsmanship, in every one of his mandolins. The sounds that come from his pieces are full and woodsy, and are even throughout. Check them out, but don't wait too long if you find one, because he only puts out about 25-27 per year, and there is always a waiting list. If you are looking for an upper end sound, grab one of these, and don't let it go.

40 years I've known this master craftsman trustworthy,honest,cares about the mandolin s he creates from fine tone woods you will be pleased with his instruments!!!! As a Luther I know quality when played and heard . order with confidence no better instruments for I believe under priced mandolins.

Had the great pleasure of speaking with Mr. Ratliff today about a mandolin His kindness is far above most folks I know and he is one helpful man to those who need help.To me he is about two notches above the top of the totem pole [In other words he is the best at what he does and He brings joy to the mandolin players]
