The Salty Sheep Yarn Shop

I stopped into the Salty Sheep on my way to Emerald Isle. What a cozy shop filled with beautiful yarns and friendly people! I will absolutely stop here again. The owner was so helpful and informative. I love this shop!

Great yarn availability. It's pricey... I'm a beginner, but it's nice that the owner and staff can help you find exactly what you need for your project and I love that they have beginner classes. If I lived closer I might go.

Great place with a wonderful atmosphere. The owner is a wealth of knowledge and a pleasure to chat with. Awesome project bundles with everything you need to get started. This place is great for a beginner looking for materials and knowledge or the experienced looking for the next project.

As I myself am not the yarn person in the family, i judge them by how accessible their "husband chair" is (husbands of knitters, you know what I'm talking about). Plenty of chairs. Owner was super friendly and my wife was entertained for a long time. She did some damage in this place so they must have a decent selection as well.

This place is very welcoming. There is a large table and chairs for classes or to drop in and knit with others. All things needed to complete your knitting or crocheting projects.

Staff was extremely friendly and offered recommendations for yarn that would work well for my next project. Excited to hear that they ship and even take photos of the yarn should I want to order a specific colorway. I don't have access to quality yarn like this at home so I will be ordering for future projects.

This was my first time here. It was a beautiful shop with a great selections of yarn and supplies. I was there to take a class and not only learned to crochet but found a great place to do yarn art and share friendships. Such a warm and fun environment.

Stopped here while on vacation and fell in love! This shop has an amazing selection of hand dyed yarns and supplies. Roxanne is the sweetest person, she helped me choose the perfect supplies for my next project and even shared a few expert tips with me.

This store is super cute! The vibe is welcoming and there are so many yarn types and colors to choose from. The owner was sweet and helped direct me to the yarn I needed. I will be coming back here again!

What a wonderful experience. The owner is so kind, joyful and *extremely* knowledgeable! She helped a first timer like me (who frequents Michael’s and Hobby Lobby for yarn) find yarn suitable for my newest project. Stopped in for a quick peruse today while vacationing in Emerald Isle. I will definitely be returning later in the week to browse and shop by myself since my family was out waiting for me in the hot car. Heehee.

This was probably the nicest yarn shop I have been to as far as selection and friendliness of the people. So many beautiful yarns and knitting notions. And the people were exceptionally friendly and hospitable.

I have been coming here for three years, once a week. Spending time with regular knitters and visitors in this beautiful place is the highlight of my week. My favorite is when the work table (as big as a large dining table) is piled high with freshly-arrived, exciting, gorgeous yarn. I am an experienced knitter, but even so I always learn something new, especially from Peggy, the shop-owner, who has the answer for every project and every problem. Come visit!

Lots of choices. Great yarns and i got all the help i needed for making a sweet baby sweater. I will be going back but not too soon since it's almost an hour from my house! The shop is very comfortable and had everything you could need... many different weights of yarn, different styles of yarn, and color galore! Worth a trip from anywhere you're vacationing along the NC Coast.

Absolutely beautiful yarn shop with amazing inventory of natural fiber yarns and extensive selection of knitting supplies. The owner, Peggy, and her employees are extremely knowledgeable and always make their customers feel welcome to come into the store and knit. I love to visit yarn shops when I travel and can honestly say I have found no other yarn shop that even comes close to The Salty Sheep. Always feel happy when I'm there surrounded by the beautiful colors and friendly fellow knitters. So glad I found it.

Love this cute shop. It is very welcoming and Peggy keeps everything so neat and attractive. She was very non judgmental of me when I told her I was a beginner and helped to guide me and teach me about the different types of yarn. I definitely prefer The Salty Sheep over chain stores. Highly recommend this yarn shop!!
