Lighthouse Food Mart

This is a convenience store with a kitchen that will rock your world with Southern take out. I go for the catfish and since I don't usually plan these stops I place my order and usually have a 20 or 30 minute wait behind the regulars who know to call ahead.
They have pretty good prices on cigarettes, too.
I have friends who come here to play the video-gambling machines. They keep coming back so I guess they do o.k.
Customer service is always good.

Since I went to Goldsboro High School(years ago) this has been the go to place to run to for the freshest chicken, fries, burgers, pork chop sandwiches. Today I stopped in with my daughter and great niece. My great niece goes there after scholl to grab some food like I use to. The quality of the food is priceless. The customer service is on point and I have NEVER had a bad meal from there.
I use to go there for my late Mother's and she loved everything from there. I can say that after 4 decades, this place is still on the top of my go to places when I visit my family in Goldsboro. If you have not stopped by, go ahead. It's an experience and everyone is friendly. Keep doing what you are doing good people. My family will always enjoy the amazing food, and enjoy memories that will last forever.

Live an hour away from this location but my friends just love to drag me up and down the road with them. I happened to be hungry that day with a hankering for some fried chicken. So my friend who is familiar with area got me fried chicken. Yummy. So weeks later with another friend went back and took time to read the menu. Wait! Fish plates? Say what? Got to have it. Catfish. Was enough for me to make two fantastic sandwiches and leave some for my traveling companion. A mistake was made in the handling of the remaining of that box. It was taken home by the new owner and they were awakened by familiar faces gobbling up what was left. So three people got to eat and enjoy. Where is there room for complaint in that experience. Next time someone wants to drive to Goldsboro will want to try their trout.

The best chicken in town. There’s almost always a good sized line waiting so you can be sure your chicken is fresh out of the fryer. Great prices too. Can’t beat The Lighthouse for real deal homemade tasting fried chicken wings.

Best fried chicken ever. I've eaten lots of chicken and the food mart/gas station has the best hands down. The rest of the food is fine, but you come here for the fried chicken for sure. It is literally right across the tracks but I've never felt unsafe.

Good livers and gizzards good all about food. Fish and fried pork chops. Big pork chops . Vegs and more. Fried chicken. Um um good.

Nice and very busy store. They use Carolina Packers hot dogs and they are the best.
